Just returned from picking up my friend at the Ferrari dealership where is California needs $28,000 in repairs! Yes that's twenty-eight thousand dollars. He's had the car 3 years and put less than 1,000 miles on it. He purchased it from a Ferrari dealer at a cost of $150K so it had been inspected prior to purchase. He's the second owner and it's never been abused. That said, something to do with the drivetrain is now going to cost him a small fortune.

I was never a fan of the California, I always felt it was too soft and non-special... now it's even softer, even less special appearing and worse! It looks like a Miata. Not that there is anything wrong with a Miata, but I'd rather get a Miata and pay Miata money and get Miata reliability. If more people had more brains than money, no one would buy these cars.

If someone makes over 6 figure a year and have a multi million dollar home, I'm pretty sure the right thing to do is to buy something matches their social status. Like you said, not that there is anything wrong with a Miata.
