I’ve always just loved Luke & Lorelai, and this scene between them at the kitchen table is my favourite from the revival series. I didn’t think the revival quite captured their dynamic, but this conversation was funny, quirky, sweet. 💗 It just felt like them. 0:32
I wish they didn’t have Jess leave and we saw some flirting or eye contact from Rory and him in the wedding scene. Like instead of him looking at Rory through a window. He could have been Luke’s best man and looked like that during the wedding and then looked away. Then Rory could have done the same thing. They def have a connection but she has denied him two times already. I want them together but idk how her character feels for him…
🤔 When Lorelai & Luke broke up the first time in the series bc of Emily and Christopher, Lorelai said to Luke “I don’t want us to miss the middle”. During the revival even they were together it seems they missed a middle with their own kids, a wedding & being a happy married couple. So sad tbh ☹️☹️☹️
1:24 I had a theory that Emily was never really Forthright with her background. One detail of which is that Emily was secretly jewish but had to hide it to get into the country club, that classic tale. I like this theory, because in Jewish tradition, you are jewish if your mother was jewish, so that would mean Emily, Lorelei, and Rory were secretly jewish the whole time
I am less confident about this, but I think the reason Emily didnt want Lorelei to get an abortion was because her jewish mother would have disapproved. I know that now most jewish people lean left on social matters, so most jewish people are prochoice, but I think there has been contention about that, especially back when Emily was a girl. Yes WASP people are suppose to be more conservative about this issue, publicly, but it is very common for them to wave something like that aside if it prevented scandal, after all that was the first thing Christopher's parents thought to do. If it were true, it would fit really well with the themes of the show, in the revival the events were spurred into motion because of Lorelei ruminating about some off hand comment that Emily said, and Rory's whole book (which might be the show) was influenced deeply by the off hand comments that Lorelei said when they were arguing in the cemetery, so it would be fitting if the Emily's mother, some one who we heard little about and saw less, could have had an influence over Emily which shaped the lives of her whole family. for multiple generations
I hope the 2nd season revival..Rory end up wth Jess becos look likes Lorelai able to accept tat Rory deserve a guy who really genuinely cares abt her daughter n baby..logan already married n I doubt his parents able to accept Rory's n baby..
If my some miracle they do a second season I NEED a Lorelai and Jess adventure! I demand it!
