    Anyone who trashes this video I believe hasn’t actually watched the video. It’s very good information well thought out. I feel lucky to have found it 🙏

    The timing of this video is so perfect! I have been watching some of my videos and I realised that I have a 'TH-cam voice' that is more formal, but I want to get into the habit of speaking to the camera the same way that I speak to family and friends so that my personality shines through. Thank you so much for this video! Looking forward to applying these tips.😁🙌🏾

      Ah that is so good to hear. Yeah the TH-camr voice is a real thing and so hard to get rid of lol. Glad you found the video helpful!

    Lots of great tips in this video.
    May I give an extra one (I’ve been doing videos since 2009)? People freeze up when the red light blinks because of the adrenaline kicking in.
    What you can do is trigger the adrenaline shoot easily and before you turn on the camera. Instead of moving around, like Sean demonstrates, do it 30 minutes before. Jump around, run, walk fast, shout, …. Do enough to get an adrenaline rush. Went you sit down in front of the camera, the adrenaline cycle suggests you will be 10x more chill and able to process your thoughts.

    Appearing confident on camera is a tough one to master but i hope this helps or at least gives you the confidence to create that video.

      I don't have a problem looking natural and comfortable on Camera, I have a problem with knowing naighbors can hear Me and that is what puts Me off. I'd love to be in a empty place like yours but in space of your house there are 7 small apartments that I'm right in the middle of and I hate it.

    I got comfortable talking to the camera by sending videos, in public, to my best friend. Just walking around my neighborhood but it was still soooo uncomfortable at first. But it got easier!! Took about a month before I started posting online and became comfortable. (:

    So good! Ok..! My goal is to start my TH-cam channel in January. I’ve watched A LOT of TH-cams building up to the big event. Yours are the best ones! I’ve told that to others but I hadn’t found yours yet. I’m 76! I’m a widow now and an artist trying to figure out life again. I think having my own channel, that obligation, will help me. Thank you for all you have shared.

    I love your content Sean. This is gold about just turning the camera on BEFORE you officially start. Make faces in the camera (my idea) to relax and let down and then just start talking. Doesn’t matter start talking and just relax and then bam, you just start to flow into the video. Genius, thank you for all this tips and more in this video. ❤

    • @seankitching
      @seankitching  หลายเดือนก่อน

      So good to hear! And ah that is such a good approach, make silly faces and fully break down that barrier and just talking to camera will feel so much less awkward afterwards!

    Pacing...... hadn't thought about this. Great Point!!!! I believe what you are helping us do is get into "character" of ourselves in a comfortable natural way. Very easy to say, not as easy to do and just like everything else the more we practice or do the better we will get at it. Thanks again for putting the videos together to encourage us to be our best. Take care!

    • @seankitching
      @seankitching  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah its a tricky one hey! For sure practice is the way to go and the more you do it the less effort it takes. Such a pleasure though, thanks for the support!

    One thing I have found helpful is setting my phone up in the holder on my car dash and pressing record. Every time I drive, I press record and start talking. I don’t worry about people hearing me because I’m alone in my car, able to express myself freely.

    English as not my first language these things are multiplied for me in front of the camera. So thanks for sharing these very useful tips. I'm definitely going to try them. I watched so many of your videos but never subscribed. I feel ashamed for that as I always learn something from them. So I'm here now. Keep up the good work. Respect...

    Thank you so much for this video! I’ve been struggling to 'loosen up' in front of the camera, so I’ll definitely give your tips a try. Simply recording myself without the pressure of filming an actual video and channeling my more informal, relaxed side-rather than my 'job interview' persona 😅

    Such great advice. I still don't have it down nearly as well as you do, but I'm trying! In my over dubs I can actually read it like I would talk. I also write like I talk. For example, if I would normally write "talk to them," I would write "talk to 'em.". Helps a lot.

    Great video. But actually when you said that in a voice note you just speak without comprehending this is a bit mind blowing to me. I actually feel like I need to concentrate a lot no matter who I'm talking to and I can't even imagine speaking without comprehending and thinking at the same time. I think I might have some kind of disorder because it has been like this my whole life but I have always wondered how some people can just speak for hours freely without stumbling and needing time to think and such 😊

    • @seankitching
      @seankitching  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh that is super interesting! I mean I am sure there are lots of people that have the same thing so I wouldn't see it as a disadvantage but rather try and figure out what works in your favour. Maybe you just need to break it up into smaller bite size sections or think about what the core message you are trying to convey is before you start talking. Also just down to a practice thing I guess.

    • @kentkjrgaardjensen4304
      @kentkjrgaardjensen4304 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @seankitching i agree it could be because Im using a wrong "technique" and might have just gotten used to it because I never learned an effective way of communicating verbally. You know kinda like a person born with bad eye sight that thinks that's how all people see the world, but when the person gets glasses he realises how it should be. Could be the same effect here. I will try to dig some more into this 😊

    “This video is not about the algorithm. It’s not about getting views or tricking people into watching something. Forget about hooks, catchy titles or holding retention. This video is about sharing something valuable to real, other people that could learn or benefit from this thing that I can share. Express your true opinions that could impact just one person in a positive way, now share that in the truest and most authentic way to me, from my actual experience and true value I would be grateful to learn myself. And then I will film my video, once I’ve read over that and felt it and really feel that that’s how I want to deliver any piece of content to any one of my viewers.” 12:38

    Say this mantra before filming:
    'This video is **NOT** about *algorithms, getting views, or tricking people into watching*.
    It’s **NOT** about *hooks, catchy titles, or retention strategies*.
    It’s about **sharing something valuable** with **real people** who could **learn or benefit from it.**
    It’s about **expressing true opinions** that could **positively impact just one person.**
    My goal is to share this in the **truest and most authentic way**, drawn from my **actual experience** and **genuine value**.
    And in doing so, I hope to learn and grow myself."
    Thanks for the words of wisom Shane.
