Well, to start, he was already getting demotivated a ton by the community before the announcement of the rework, urging him to push out updates and bug fixes, so to please them, bunny updated the map to the scarlet forest, which wasn't that good of a map, due to its size and it not being combat friendly, but since SS code is so messy and buggy, he couldn't update it that well, so to combat this, he decided to revamp SS from scratch after the announcement of the rework, people finally had hopes that bunny would fix SS and start working on it more, and the sneak peeks helped making people excited, but then after a while, sneak peeks slowed down and people became skeptical, but an announcement was made that bunny works 10 to 12 hours on the rework average per day, though some people didn't believe that since there weren't any sneak peeks in months, there's no clear reason why bunny stopped working on the rework, but the most probable and agreed upon, is that he got demotivated and burnt out from working on the rework, and I understand iit tbh, working on a project for that long each day will burn you out, not to mention that he was working on a side project whch is combat mayhem, which he seemed to enjoy deving more than the rework, so in short, bunny got burnt out from working on the rework
So sad that the community couldn't understand. I have this fear with every game I play where the dev would just stop undating the game because of the community being full cry babies

I've been playing the game for over 3 years now and met a lot of people through it, but unfortunately there is only so much we can do, and if the development team cancels it, that's it. Thankfully there are some cool now fangames like utpr, ab etc. I honestly feel like those have a lot of potential as well, if not more than ss.
Played it for a long time and even played when it was first being developed on with the op undyne days and the instant kill moves on Sans. That’s sad that its more than likely being discontinued. Rip Soulshatters was super fun
Litterly soulshatters was the game that i would play non stop because of how good it was, the combat system was and is still amazing and its something i never seen in a roblox game

It would be honestly the best if bunny had pulled out testing when the GT chara were mainly done, like UCD devs which still update spamton and flowey. I don't care about the rework, the whole game needs to fix some things. Being able to TP to the sky needs to be removed, Inf combos needs to be worked on, Exploits are everywhere and as of now, I don't think they care about the amount of hackers in the game, And a ton of bugs. Also, whoever doesn't use the 1v1 command, says ez and just joins the game to team on somebody are losers, You guys eat toe crust. There is a roblox Place created by Bunny, called "Soulshatters Rework", but it is private. Its description says "It must be done" and it was last updated on 10/9/2021.
I respect SS for being the progenitor of Undertale fighting games but *SS was never a good or well designed game unfortunately,* the game had so many fundamentally broken and unbalanced design choices. Additionally, no fighting game made in roblox will ever be able to live up to what it could be as roblox is a medium that is neither designed for and fundamentally apposed to fighting games due to how restrictive LUA is and how Roblox servers have hardcoded lag. The day I see an SS style undertale fighting game that isnt restricted by a broken medium and is actually balanced will be a truly wonderful one.

Hey, Leader of the Revamp Team who really isnt a revamp team anymore. It isn't clear to me or some of the other members why this happened. But it all can come down to one answer. Engagement. He didn't find any enjoyment in working on the game anymore, therefore he started on combat mayhem. But then he stopped updating that as well. We do not know if he will ever come back to developing back on roblox, but one person on the time who still has contact with him confirms that he is still aware of the communities surrounding the game and he might make an announcement of what his development will be like going forward. Anything else would be a private matter with him and the person who has contact with him talks vaguely about him because we do not wanna pry into his private life.

(Sorry if this might be a bit chaotic) As a some sort of developer or creator or something i can say that this could be caused by huge demotivation by the idea of rework itself, "a rework?? But making the same thing just a little bit changed should be easy!" - It's not, just put yourself into the thought that you have a whole game in your hands, fully developed with all mechanics and stuff, but you're not satisfied with it, you either realised that the game you were working on is not how you wanted it to be or realized that you'll make things a bit different (in this case making a whole new game entirely) but you couldn't do it at that time either because you couldn't do it at that time or any other reason you held back. Now you're left with a complete game that's not complete, that was supposed(or preffered) to be different - left to be completely remade from scratch (maybe a bit more easier since you have a bit of something from previous but with it being said that the code is messy probably that being remade too" You boot up roblox studio.. but you don't feel that rush of creating something new, leaving that dead stare on the screen infront of you

If I were to be honest with you, after the release of Sakuya in SS, just knew something was up cause why would there be a touhou gamepass in an undertale game? (given that its a gamepass but still) alongside that, updates were taking so long, bunny wouldn't keep in contact with anyone so something just told me that the Rework wasn't gonna happen

Also yeah, updates stopped happening because bunny became less ambitioned and lazy, he would be almost done with a character (such as asgore) and quit just when he was about to finish some of the last changes. When called on for many instances, he left the community, promised to work on the SS rework later on, then broke his promise. I get it that he can do whatever he wants, it's his property after all and he should work on what makes him happy, such as Combat Warriors. However, he made several promises that still to this day have not been fulfilled.

So long story short, what we all already knew: Soulshatters is dead, left to rot by a creator who refuses to even set the game to open source before leaving so that others can reuse the assets. Can't even be bothered to uncopylock it or post the full code so that other people can use it. Burnout is understandable, but burnout doesn't mean you are just allowed to block new progress. UTPR is the only surviving hope for the style. The only way to even get close to a good recreation is to burn it all to the ground and start over.
To be honset, i have to thank SS (not the community) for me making lots of friends. But man, getting presured by the toxicity of the SS community, i bet its childern, plus working 10 to 12 hours per day? Damn, give Bunny a break. A huge thanks to UTPR, they (at least partly) fulfilled the fighting game that SS was unfortunately not able to reach.

As a some sort of developer or creator or something i can say that this could be caused by huge demotivation by the idea of rework itself, "a rework?? But making the same thing just a little bit changed should be easy!" - It's not, just put yourself into the thought that you have a whole game in your hands, fully developed with all mechanics and stuff, but you're not satisfied with it, you either realised that the game you were working on is not how you wanted it to be or realized that you'll make things a bit different (in this case making a whole new game entirely) but you couldn't do it at that time either because you couldn't do it at that time or any other reason you held back. Now you're left with a complete game that's not complete, that was supposed(or preffered) to be different - left to be completely remade from scratch (maybe a bit more easier since you have a bit of something from previous but with it being said that the code is messy probably that being remade too"

I forgot this game existed
An old "friend" of bunny if you can call me that. I knew of bunny's antics way before the rework got announced, and I vaguely remember telling someone amidst the rework development that due to bunny's past, the rework just wouldn't happen. I told a bunch of people but they always refused to believe me or guaranteeing me that "the rework will come out in x months". Fast forward to today, still no rework and I am right.
If I were to be honest with you, after the release of Sakuya in SS, just knew something was up cause why would there be a touhou gamepass in an undertale game? (given that its a gamepass but still) alongside that, updates were taking so long, bunny wouldn't keep in contact with anyone so something just told me that the Rework wasn't gonna happen
@@izcube8971 bunny is a touhou fan so it would be obvious that he was brewing up a character from touhou. Also yeah, updates stopped happening because bunny became less ambitioned and lazy, he would be almost done with a character (such as asgore) and quit just when he was about to finish some of the last changes. When called on for many instances, he left the community, promised to work on the SS rework later on, then broke his promise.
I get it that he can do whatever he wants, it's his property after all and he should work on what makes him happy, such as Combat Warriors. However, he made several promises that still to this day have not been fulfilled.
@@Korbius1 Several promises that left a community starved and probably still waiting for bunny to return to SS, whether that will happen or not is up to bunny, community could improve to but with the many empty promises, not sure if many are willing to wait anymore

Bunny is working on a game called "Combat Mayhem". A game like ss bur easier to play and with 2 skins so far, he gave up on ss a long time ago, and CM development is slow but not dead

yeah but bunny getting his stuff stolen was year or 2 years before the rework, they announced that the rework is on halt (not being worked on) no one knows when it resumes tho

Hear me out i wouldn't say its a lie you SEE if bunny didint get scammed bye alot of his money then they could have probably updated the game but seen how bunny lost so much money I think it would be best if he just couldn't continue it sense alot of his devs probably quitted..aswell he did the same to combat warriors i think but I wouldn't say the work was a lie it was probably disconntuined to the lack of any conversation with the dev team

So long story short, what we all already knew: Soulshatters is dead, left to rot by a creator who refuses to even set the game to open source before leaving so that others can reuse the assets.
Can't even be bothered to uncopylock it or post the full code so that other people can use it. Burnout is understandable, but burnout doesn't mean you are just allowed to block new progress.
UTPR is the only surviving hope for the style. The only way to even get close to a good recreation is to burn it all to the ground and start over.
