Wishful thinking now, but how cool it would have been to have the CSX 911 engine leading the parade of fire trucks at LaGrange? Not too many places they could actually have the engine in the parade. Maybe send that clip to whoever to put a bug in their ear for next year?
I live in Minnesota and the UPs 1968 steam engine went across the whole state. from the Iowa border to the Minneapolis area and up to the Canadian border. Not sure if anyone heard this that is not from Minnesota.

This is the part why I argue that 8104 is the best heritage unit and you all try to convince me otherwise. Imagine if a train raided the parade while the vehicles were on it. Edit: That appears to be what happened.
seeing the L.V. loco is sad. I remember seeing L.V. U23Bs,GP38s,and C628s. L.V. has a personal connection to me. My g g grandmother last name was Cornell. L.V. red paint is called Cornell red as in the university. My relatives founded Cornell University.
Seriously La Grange, what part of "Let's build a road over a railroad track" sounded like a good idea? What kind of benefits to traffic flow are you going to gain from having a road literally share a lane with a railroad track? A car and a train can't be there at the same time, the train is going to have to slow down and if it's a long train as well as slow traffic is going to back up like nobody else's business and can you say "Accident waiting to happen?" How does that kind of situation even happen? Either get rid of the road or foot the bill for the railroad to relocate the track somewhere other than in the middle of the road. Or maybe do what Reno and LA did and build a trench for the railroad to pass through. At least then trains can cruise through at speeds, traffic can run smoothly, and the chances of fatal accidents is completely removed.
