Awesome work mate ! We do have a "making of" of the race btw., the comparison makes you really appreciate how much work you've put into this: th-cam.com/video/ZDy7ekxfe1E/w-d-xo.html
I've seen a Spectrum tabloid article that alleged far more serious safety violations on set. Namely, during the filming of the org race, shots were *deliberately fired* at James August himself; a 'lapse' intended to look like an accident. Unfortunately, a nearby intern named JungPlunga was killed instead. Care to comment on any of these allegations?
@@robwoodring9437 No comment. Obviously a rumor. The press would go to any lengths to make up a story. No one died, some people were injured yes, a patch of grass was blackened and a Jump got blown- but that's it... maybe a few people died... but that's it...
I really liked how you guys replicated something that looks surprisingly like the actual real set. Awesome job. The format is spookily close to the bone too! The camera work on the ship review too also especially hot.
Thanks for liking that. A lot of effort went into that. Took me couple of hours to put everything into place. I had everything ready to go when my 11 year old son suggested I park the Pulse bikes in the background. When doing that the thrust from the Pulse blew away the whole set and I had to redo everything. Also most of the stuff kept on moving- especially the big red couch and we will have to reposition it every 15 minutes. The camera work was easy and absolute bliss to work with as I love cinematic story telling.
I love Star Citizen, I love Top Gear, I love the community and this is just a perfect example of what people are capable of doing in this game. I loved every detail you put into that video. Great work. Looking for more❤❤❤
Some of the tools are quite good in allowing us players to do some crazy stuff- at the same time a lot of the stuff is quite restrictive. If the game works, it's easier. Hardest thing was the FOIP. Shooting ships was easy. The best bit was to create a script and bring it all together.
I really like this video, it just captures top gear's comedy style so well for me as well as making an entertaining "review" of the polaris! Also, I have a story: During Xenothreat Me and my Organization was doing the missions. We had like 20 people with us, I was in a star fighter inferno. As we are doing these mission we come across another Organization who is also doing the xenothreat missions. We asked them to join up and suddenly we had about 30 something people all doing the xenothreat missions at once. I cant even explain how cinematic it was. Hammerheads, Light Fighters, Redeemers, it was insane. Missles would be passing by with some close calls, my pvp skills really kicked into gear and it really just looked like a full on war. Not the most entertaining story but im mostly a cargo hauler or medical personell lol. (drake is the best) I would like to mention, as much as i love the design of the t-shirt, I do not want to participate in the t-shirt giveaway. Great video man.
Oh I have first hand experience of how cool that Idris mission is. we did it in a Star lancer while couple of Polaris were also engaged in taking it down. While the pilot and my 11year old manned the ship, I just went in external camera mode and recorded the whole battle and Idris blowing up. Here is a short clip of the idris blowing up- th-cam.com/users/shortsYFde2GVFx2E I still have the footage of the whole battle. It is epic, so i feel you. And I respect your choice to not go for the T shirt giveaway. That's why I made sure I announced the shipping costs in advance. Full transparency :)
We're very pleased that it came across that way, man. Lens' editing does the heavy lifting, but it was a satisfying challenge to write for our characters' style.
stumbled upon tavidéo through my youtube suggestions, I liked the parody even though I'm not a great connoisseur of the original show, I must have missed a lot of references, bravo!
You did perhaps but the love for such entertainment shows is universal. A whole generation grew up on Top Gear. All of us gas-heads like looking at nice cars (ships in this case). I hope you enjoyed the cinematic beauty.
Lens, my guy. This is a LEGENDARY video. I feel like you've nailed down the format and damn near perfected the comedic tone. Well done my dude! Well DONE!
Yeah man and it took every ounce of energy I had to give. Script was easy and the episode just flew well. It worked out. Huge kudos to the guys for pulling off the VO and jokes too. Shooting the foip was the hardest bit and editing it was a nightmare.
Ive done machinimas and can attest that you have put a ton of work and effort for such a monumental episode. Everything from the hangar decorations to meticulously synced foip dialogue, all is so well done. huge congrats and big thumbs up!
Thanks for acknowledging the hard work. Yes, it was a lot of effort to put it together. The game fights you a lot and doing the Foip was the hardest bit of it all. Thanks for the watch mate. Heratfelt thanks.
Cool cinematography. I like how you used the white/grey hew of the clouds to showcase the Polaris. It made it pop out and looked really good. And the Fury doing laps around the hangar... hat off to the pilot. (I want to participate in the t-shirt giveaway)
The Fury laps were done by Richard Dash lol BobEffing did those. Also the Polaris flying was him. Yes, if you watch the video closely, you will notice that the three segments have different color templates to distinguish the visual appeal of the sections- that kept the video fresh and separate from one another in feel.
This is pure brilliance! Top Hanger meets Star Citizen is the crossover I never knew I needed. The Polaris review had me in stitches and dreaming of commanding my own capital ship. Hats off for the humor, creativity, and Top Gear vibes-absolutely nailed it! Well done o7
wow thanks mate. I can feel the positive vibes of your comment coming through. This makes it worth it for me. Do watch the Ep1 as well if you have time. That's what started it all.
Great work man! I know how long these kinds of videos take it’s definitely a labor of love. Also I will have Scooter stock up on some more Drakes for ya 😂.
BobEffing- the voice of Richard Dash is a big fan of yours and he made sure we gave scooter a shoutout :) I have to give it to him for that scripted nod. After all the machinima community in SC is a small one and we all know each other's pains. I have also watched many of your videos and love the humor. Just happy that you got to see it man :)
Oh you’ve hit the nail on the head. The mining heads that we used as tables just kept on rotating. The worse was the couch that was moving all the time. After 15 minutes or so, we will have to reset. We had a lot of objects that we couldn’t use :) Also the Foip doesn’t work on double screens- so all the characters are me with different faces while Rob and my son would switch into other characters and sit next to me. Login, shoot one section, logout and repeat. It was pain to shoot with 3 characters. Cinematography is easy. The game is beautiful and I am a video producer in real life. So I enjoy that bit.
Take it from me, the production value is insane. Even just the staging and set design is a feat to be admired with how the physics works in SC currently. The humor, pacing, and overall vibe is exactly what you'd expect from a well done homage to TopGear. Bravo, LensNation. This deserves so much more attention!

Well I did write scripts for 4 episodes last year but shooting them is so hard + the game wasn't in a good place so I shelved the ideas. Hopefully 2025 will be a better year.
Star Citizen is a beautiful games and the reason why I started making these videos was to capture the cinematic look. It all started with screenshots :)
More than that it is the collective time and very low exposure to the videos that kills the urge to create more. This took 65+ hours to create. That's a lot of investment for very low figure views. I just wanted to do it out of love for TopGear and StarCitizen
This video is DRIPPING with love for both the game and machinima. The dedication to props and set design and even FOIP, that ain't easy! Video had me rollin! And those hero shots of the Polaris??? YES PLEASE. WAY TO BE LENSATION AND CREW!
Hey it’s not worth it without the people of the community. I love hiding nods to the people I like. And the joy you feel when you discover it without expecting is priceless to me :) Thanks for the watch. I gave this video all my love.
Great, thanks for making such a great video and giving us another way to enjoy this great project that is Star Citizen. Impossible not to get hooked 🔥🔥🔥
absoloutely beautifull, i feel like we definitely need more top gear style vids like this instead of boring ship reviews, awesome polaris shots as well keep it up!
Thanks a lot mate. That will be the day. i think eventually SC will start doing that. The Reliant Tana had something like that behind its camera wing as well.
@@LensNation Well... yeah, until I ended up stuck in the wall of the Polaris hangar 😅. I wasn't missing anything anyway I think at that point we were still trying to work out why both groups were looking at the 'same' hills but not each other 🤣
I love it, I had the feeling watching the real TV show. PLEASE keep doing it. Imagine you would get real youtubers/streamer to the show as celebrities. That would be even more awesome
Well, I have been doing that. I had Papa Juggernaut, TheSpaceCoder, Reds_Resort and MrKraken on so far. We talk and then I make them do a lap in the Aurora on track. They are separate episodes as the interview makes the videos too long. Thanks for watching and giving it the time. o7
Enjoyed the video. Great work. A bit long for what it is in my opinion but also had no discernable filler or boring bits either. Definitley have a knack for great visuals and scripting, well done indeed (the patience to manage all of that around the myriad of bugs and "quirks" of SC is impressive in itself 😂 ).
It naturally came around to 26 minute mark- just like a proper Top Gear special. I was aware all the time that the episode was getting longer, but this was the only way for em to introduce the 3 characters and also keep Top Gear's outlandish format. Individual episodes for the ships will sit around 16 minute mark I think- and thank god for that. I cant manage to shoot videos like this all the time.
Awesome great content a lot of fun helping this video being made it's a very interesting ship, we have had a few cool missions in it and found out when and when not to use some of the features of this ship and how costly it is to repair if you do it wrong, love the video keep up the good work.
These are excellent! Thank you and keep this going, very well done. I very sadly did not watch Top Gear even though I am at the perfect age to have experienced that. Must have not been watching much TV back then and I was disconnected to car culture. Now I drive a wannabe race car and motorcycle so I may have to watch Top Gear streaming so I can appreciate all of this better.
Even I don’t watch it when it aired. I caught it later and binge watched every episode. That is so great about Too Gear that even if the subject matter is not relevant, the entertainment value is. You should catch-up on it. It slowly builds into the behemoth it is.
Love the dedication. The commedy is top-notch, and the cinematography is incredible for an all ingame shoot. May a suggest a mining challenge as part of the next episode? (probably with richard with the roc, James with the prospector and Jack with the Mole because POWEEER) The behind the scene: "Apparently, behind the scenes, Bob wanted to be revealed to help with his ties to the hot dog market but Scooter Scooter wouldn't lend the drake ships fearing a crash of the double dog distribution"
I love that idea. i think we can develop it into some sort of sim-adventure tale on the lines of ""How hard can it be?". Making up these stories is half the fun. Shooting them is pain lol. We already have a race planned which will test our limits.
That was an amazing video. I love Top Gear (my parents and I watch reruns together often) and we’re all car people so the faithful recreation in Star Citizen was a great watch. You’ve earned a like and a new sub.
Thanks a lot for the vote of trust. I will try to keep it up. Do catch-up on Ep1 of you have time. I binge watched every episode when I was in my twenties. It’s incredible to see how this show build.
Damn if u think about the fact that the Polaris is one of the smaller Capital ships, the others will be so Crazy huge. Love Star Citizen for thinking so big. And ur roleplay is absoluty peak 😂👌🏼
OK I give in that made me laugh, well done all of you. I recognised who you were and brought back nice memories. As ever love the TopGear set and as expected we'll produced . Nice to see the Polaris featured and when the games working look forward to trying it out. Sadly after I'd seen Drakes cutlass treated so badly by the TopHanger team I've melted mine old technology and best sent to the scrap yard :).
The Drake shares dropped after this episode aired. Apparently we were also sent a letter to sue for defamation but we can't confirm that as all the Drake email was sent to the dumpster straight up :P Thanks for liking the video Skip. Appreciated. I knew you would enjoy it. Bob and Sim were the biggest helping hands in the production of this video.
May I recommend the Top Hangar Ep1 to you? I promise you wont be disappointed - th-cam.com/video/um-nT0x39TU/w-d-xo.html And thanks for taking out the time to watch the video. This helps. Was waiting so long for someone to produce videos like this! 👏 I really hope you guys branch out and do some GalacticTour episodes - like driving Cyclones across the desert between aid shelters on Daymar or flying snubs from Pole to Pole on Bloom! 😁
We do have a script for doing a race and someone suggested a very cool idea for doing a mining adventure. So if time allows we will continue these tales.
enormous video !!! greater than any of the polaris'reviews, better than Jax & Jimmy, as good as the best top gear's shows ! 😍 I can't even imagine the hours spend to realise it 😅BRAVO 😘

That was fun. Me and @robwoodring9437 had a lot of fun doing the shoot together. Some great mornings.
Great episode and glad to see Top Hangar return. Nice T-shirt design, sign me up.
Hey hey hey. How have you’ve been? Glad to have your support for the series. I hope you win it :)
@LensNation I have been nice and busy. Got to enjoy my trip to CitCon and now finally playing SC again with 4.0, although the experience has been rough.
@@Badmofojay Oh so you went to the Citcon. They just released a hotfix for 60k errors today- hopefully we will start seeing some improvement.
So happy for the return of Top Hangar! This was amazingly done and great work to everyone involved in it
Lots of effort candyman. Lots of candies were put to good use :)
26:27 No need to apologize for Drake, I'll still find you in the verse 💀🤣
Anyway, great job ! ❤
JA JA JA JA. Hence #drake4laif Its fun to have our lore and have Top Hangar presenters hate on Drake lol
Hell yeah, thanks KungLi for sharing this absolute gem, this was an amazing watch!
Thanks to KungLi for the shoutout. Where did he do that?
@@LensNation he made a community post on his YT channel about 3 hours ago, love his content and his taste brought me to you guys 💪🏻
@@yifeng3007 Ah.. Legend. Ill go check it out.
Good one, my favourite game and favourite show combined, keep it up guys.
Same for me. I love both of them and had to bring them together.
I love It! What an amazing work, congratulations!!!! Please moreeee
Thanks Neo. You know you’ve done a good ship show when racers approve o7
your dedication shames us all my good sir, brava, encore :)
Thanks a lot. Yupp, this was a lot of work, death, suffering, joy and fun :)
The amount of dedication this would take is something special. Love the jokes, and the quality cuts. Keep up the quality work
Thanks mate. Yup, only true love and appreciation had us going. This was a gargantuan effort.
MORE PLEASE! Excellent!
DAMN! I somehow found my way to this Video and i was in it for the whole ride! Love the cutty bashes xD ! Thanks for the amazing Content!! Keep up the good Work!
Crazy Quality.
And also a giveaway damn u guys are awesome!
Thanks Kocki. Even in first episode I had viewers who just stumbled here. Some even had no clue what Star Citizen was.
@@LensNation Oh i do tho :D I play for i think 7 years now , but im a broke dude so i only have aurora MR. But it works out to be fair. But an upgrade still would be sick af!
Back to the Video : I cant wait for the next episode and i will go back to episode 1 and watch that aswell , i subbed for this Magnificient content!
@@Kochlonski Well, I really hope your name comes up in the giveaway. I myself also have a Nomad as starter ship and ive been enjoying the grind in 4.0
Waiting for your response on Ep1. I hope this series keeps going lol
@@LensNation if its not coming its fine , im probably not the only cruisin around with a cheap starter :D The content is why im here anyways , giveaway is just a bonus :D
I hope it too man !
@@Kochlonski Excelsior! That's the spirit. Now I really wish you win :)
Content quality defo up a notch! Keep it up mate 👍
Yup! Ive learnt a lot from making these videos in the game.
Happy to see this series developing even further, well done good sir.
Well I did write scripts for 4 episodes last year but shooting them is so hard + the game wasn't in a good place so I shelved the ideas. Hopefully 2025 will be a better year.
i grew up on the og top gear as a kid, very much so apperciated call back. nostalgic and very well shot good on ya!
Same. Some quality TV that. I have sen every single episode of TG and GT. So this was quite cathartic to create a homage to TG.
I love how you got the glint off the metal on the ships during the B roll. Very pro. This was fantastic! Super entertaining.
Star Citizen is a beautiful games and the reason why I started making these videos was to capture the cinematic look. It all started with screenshots :)
Great work! Having grown up on TopGear I can really appreciate the effort to get the same vibe. Well done!
Thanks a lot. We treated it just like a production. Everything was done to the right plan.
Oh my god ! That's so fun, so well done, so British!
Thank you for that, please never stop this emission, even if it's so hard to do in game
And the joy you feel when you discover it without expecting is priceless to me :)
Thanks for the watch. I gave this video all my love.
Love the these videos, pretty fun, and nicely done!
Great, thanks for making such a great video and giving us another way to enjoy this great project that is Star Citizen. Impossible not to get hooked 🔥🔥🔥
Yup... to be able to create such an amazing world of our own inside the game is truly amazing. It is getting better with every patch.
This is truly awesome! Very good to see Fury going around inside the Polaris hangar!
And it died. You can see its remain in the video itself lol
Reminds me to the good old days. Well done!
This was so dope. Good job. I really enjoyed the editing and introduction. Made that Machinima feel.
Cheers fellow Shutterbug. Thanks for having a watch :)
absoloutely beautifull, i feel like we definitely need more top gear style vids like this instead of boring ship reviews, awesome polaris shots as well keep it up!
Thanks for the praise. Well we do make up our entertainment to make the ship review a lot more fun :)
This needs to stream on the ship bunk screens. Reminds me of fun old school wow machinima. Nice work!
Thanks a lot mate. That will be the day. i think eventually SC will start doing that. The Reliant Tana had something like that behind its camera wing as well.
Love the scope of the video, awesome work.
This is hilarious! Please keep doing more episodes!!!
Yup. Slowly. Also have other machinima ideas that o want to do.!
Reminded me of top gear, and the guys!
That was really cool! Love to see it, huge props on the beautiful shots of that Polaris
That is my favorite thing to do. Shooting the ships and editing them in a cinematic style is my creative high.
Thanks for letting me be a part of this! o7
You guys were fun and extremely organized. Couldn't have done the Polaris battle without you.
@@LensNation Well... yeah, until I ended up stuck in the wall of the Polaris hangar 😅. I wasn't missing anything anyway I think at that point we were still trying to work out why both groups were looking at the 'same' hills but not each other 🤣
@@furyiv Oh yeah that was a hilarious stupid mistake on my part. I got lost on my own track. See that's why its called Three Dumb Hills race track lol
@LensNation 🤣🤣
Ooooh! I missed you man! As someone with a rudimentary knowledge of SC ships (I know the Mustang, Aurora & Pisces) I loved the idea of this show!
Thanks mate. Well, i have been posting videos but not Top hangar. A few different stories that I had to make :)
Absolutely nailed the aesthetic of the show, Bravo!
Thanks Wolf. It is a love letter to Top Gear after all :)
This show is genius. I enjoyed this incredibly. Love the plug about Scooter Scooter...
Voice actor for Richard Dash - BobEffing is a huge fan of Scooter. So he made sure I did a shout out to him lol
Massive repair bills are part of life now I suppose. You guys also had a run at the 890 Jump and played torpedo darts. That was hilarious.
Great episode of Top Hangar! Can't wait to see the next one in the future!
Thanks Mat. Appreciate it. Do I know you from X and Twitch? or am I confusing you with someone else?
@ I watched and chatted with you here on yt in the chat of some of your lives, like the game shows ones, some months ago!
Amazing TopGear vibes! The cut scennes are aewsome!
Thanks Mota. Thanks for coming down and watching the video mate.
Love the dedication. The commedy is top-notch, and the cinematography is incredible for an all ingame shoot.
May a suggest a mining challenge as part of the next episode? (probably with richard with the roc, James with the prospector and Jack with the Mole because POWEEER)
The behind the scene:
"Apparently, behind the scenes, Bob wanted to be revealed to help with his ties to the hot dog market but Scooter Scooter wouldn't lend the drake ships fearing a crash of the double dog distribution"
I love that idea. i think we can develop it into some sort of sim-adventure tale on the lines of ""How hard can it be?".
Making up these stories is half the fun. Shooting them is pain lol. We already have a race planned which will test our limits.
Top Gear was a great humorous show and your video is a nice homage. Awesome job 👍. I'm in for the first giveaway, thanks for this opportunity.
Your welcome mate. Got ya. Done and done.
Really good filming, and of course the set. Love it!
Creating that set was a lot of fun indeed. Loved putting everything together and to film there was like being on Too Gear set.
Polaris is the beginning of a new era for Star Citizen!
Indeed. Its scale is impressive. To bigger and better things as Jack would say :P
Nice work Lens, nice references throughout. Also the Sneaky ANZIA logo
Heya Draconis. Thanks for the watch. Yup, I like adding different layers of fun in my videos :)
Damn if u think about the fact that the Polaris is one of the smaller Capital ships, the others will be so Crazy huge. Love Star Citizen for thinking so big.
And ur roleplay is absoluty peak 😂👌🏼
Star Citizen is crazy that way. So cool and what a time to be alive lol. Big ships require big episodes.
Apparently we were also sent a letter to sue for defamation but we can't confirm that as all the Drake email was sent to the dumpster straight up :P
Thanks for liking the video Skip. Appreciated. I knew you would enjoy it. Bob and Sim were the biggest helping hands in the production of this video.
Really fun, good job!
Mr. Ship-man! We have interacted on Twitter, but here it is the first time. Thanks for the watch.
really liked that episode! keep it up!
Really appreciate the work you put in :)
Thanks for the watch time. Appreciate it :)
This is the first time I have seen this, it was awesome. Reminded of Top Gear, became a must watch for me. I want to the shirt. o7
May I recommend the Top Hangar Ep1 to you? I promise you wont be disappointed - th-cam.com/video/um-nT0x39TU/w-d-xo.html
And thanks for taking out the time to watch the video. This helps. And I ive got you down for the T Shirt. Keep an eye on the community posts please as I will make important announcements there.
New Favorite SC series, THIS ONE! =) nice!
Thanks. Yup, hopefully more than one episode in a year.
I would definitely love a Top Hangar T-shirt. So, here it is, “I am interested in the T shirt giveaway”. Great work btw, love these TH vids!!
Cheers my-lord. Im happy that people are rolling in for the T shirts. I will love for them to go to citizens who enjoy both SC and TG.
This is fantastic! Great work!
Thanks a lot :)
I love the lypsync style, can get really creative with the scenes you can make 🚀
Its very hard to make it work - or used to be as we did this in 3.24. They have released the new FOIP system in 4.0 which I have to try still.
Amazing work :) very fun 👍
This is really great
Top hangar, comme l'émission top gear. C'est génial. 👍😁
Great! Thanks for visiting from France :)
We also measure everything in Fury LXs. 🏁🚀
That genuinely made me chuckle... The great measuring stick :)
the best SC video I have ever seen in my life🤣🤣
That's high praise man. There are some great machinima makers out there. EE Studios, Fat bird, Wailendr, Kalani to name a few.
enormous video !!!
greater than any of the polaris'reviews, better than Jax & Jimmy, as good as the best top gear's shows ! 😍
I can't even imagine the hours spend to realise it 😅BRAVO 😘
I read your comment first on RSI community hub. That was a huge boost. Thanks for liking the machinima so much. I truly tried my best to create something magical.
This was incredible! Great job haha
lets go ep 2
