Jesus's body was dead on the sabbath..death is a total rest..He wanted the world to die to sabbath keeping..& to keep His resurrection in their resurrection to new life..thru His blood..into everlasting & eternal life..with Him dwelling in our hearts as Lord & Saviour
forever..once a person becomes a Christian,
he will always be a Christian..hemay normt always think & act like a Christian..
but he will always be a Christian ..the relationship is unbreakable & irrevocable & unconditional..so he can backslide into heaven..like Aninias & Sapphira..but not into hell..there is a sin unto physical death for a Christian..shortening his life..to keep him from going to hell..
this is the doctrine of Baptist churches..any church or any person can believe that..any
Lost person can pray asking Christ to come into his heart & to bring his dead spirit to life & to cleanse it past & present & future..so that He can dwell there
as their Saviour & Lord..on the throne in their heart.."He that hath begun a good work in you shall perform it unto the day of redemption".."He is the author & finisher of our faith".."whatever God does, He does forever".."we are kept by His power".."when you drink of this water, you will never thirst again"
Thank you so much. I now have a better understanding of the MEANING OF TESTIMONY OF JESUS. Thd ministry of the Holy Spirit is absolutely amazing.
In my own experience of reading Mrs. White writing is just like what has been said here. I read STEP TO CHRIST just to improve my English, then the Holy Spirit lovingly and amazingly brought me to JESUS and the Bible. I learn to understand the Bible through Mrs. White writing in my early stage of conversion. Now I see the beautiful truth of the word of God and can't afford to miss my daily Scripture reading. I am absolutely convinced Mrs. White role as appointed by God no matter what others negative opinions are.
I have read through most of the "Spirit Of Prophecy" writings, If you read Daniel and Revelation in one sitting you see a flow of events that took place till He (Jesus) appeared the first time and Revelation takes us through the seven churches and Ellen was part of the "Philadelphia" Church experience then she writes much on the last days (Church of Laodicea) the lukewarmness of the current SDA congregational churches all throughout the world. We have been given much and much will be asked of us on the day of God? Even though she had partly third grade education, how God helped her to write it and its all inspired. "God Breathed" when you read the Bible God gives us understanding. I don't think many Adventists understand what it means to loose salvation if we stay lukewarm possessed with earthly treasures, all of us can see how the heathen nations rage and shocking floods, fires, earthquakes in diverse places (Matt 24), as long as apostasy goes on in America, America will loose everything they worked hard for? God is visiting every nation in Judgement now, for we are living in the hour of His judgement! The apostate churches preach the false gospels and their knowledge on the prophecies are all over the place and deceiving billions! because they have missed the Mark on Christ's ministry in the heavenly Sanctuary since He ascended on High and sat on the right hand of the heavenly Father. One must understand the first angel's message and look at the Commandments of God in Exodus 20: 1-17 then we will understand the second and the third angels' messages. When the latter rain is falling all around us we might miss it because of lack of Spirit and Prayers for us and others, searching of the Scriptures, knowledge won't save us but these knowledge as long as we are led by the Spirit to hold on to Jesus in the "Most Holy Place" having forgiven every sin and be ready to meet Him. Spirit of Prophecy is an excellent pointer to the deep searching of the Scriptures. God bless you!

@@MaryMartinez-lm5tv Make sure that you add 1 to your answer because there is no year zero. Time in years went from 1 BC to 1 AD. 2300 - 1844 = 456 + 1 = 457 BC. Also, prophecy uses time prophetically: 1 day = 1 year. So it's 2300 years, not 2300 days. Yes, GOD, the Holy Spirit is not a man that He should lie. GOD cannot lie. Hope this helps your understanding. 🙏🏾

This is SO helpful to me. I have had to answer people around me who despise EGW and call her a false prophet. This presentation with its many clarifications is refreshing. Such a blessing to my battered soul after dealing with doubters of her ministry from within the church and from without.
I will say this, Follow God, and no man! That's why people are calling her a false prophet. They speak more about her than Jesus!

Whether I can figure out what you mean or not does not determine whether I am lost or not. Lol.
Yes, her saying it means she followed the same principle you stated, follow God and not man. So she would agree with you that’s what the Bible teaches.
But your reason for saying she is a false prophet makes no sense. People who mistakenly hold her writings over the Bible does not mean she is false, it means that those people are wrong, not her. Whether a prophet is true or false is defined by Isaiah 8:20, not by the actions of some of her followers.
Ellen white taught that the Bible is above everything, including her wrotings. A false prophet would not say this. So please explain how peolle mistakenly putting her words above the Bible makes her a false prophet.

Let me clarify some things.
1. It's a waste of time discussing the actual month or day the day of Atonement falls on. SDA do not celebrate the day of Atonement. The term is used as a spiritual application only. No one in 1844 was looking for an actual day of Atonement; therefore, trying to explain things in a literal sense is a waste of time.
2. The Scriptures whether in English or Hebrew says 2300 evenings and mornings (or evenings mornings). The Scriptures absolutely do not say 1150 evenings and mornings. Each would no longer be a day. Imagine if in Genesis 1 God created the world in 3 days if we take your reasoning further. That's how silly it is to say the same about 2300 evenings and mornings. Read different Bible versions from varied scholarly commentators; they all typically have "days" or "evenings and mornings" (which is saying ABSOLUTELY the same thing). The Scriptures do not cut the timeline in half. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason AT ALL to do this other than to use it as a THEORY sense other means don't work for those trying to get Antiochus to fulfill it.
3. The word "sacrifices" is not in the Hebrew or originals. Bible translators supplied it to the phrase "daily" BUT it is not in the originals. The "daily", as a result, is referring to other matters than simply sacrifices and has greater spiritual application because the little horn would last till the TIME OF THE END. THE VISION IS FOR THE TIME OF THE END, according to the angel speaking with Daniel; THEREFORE, it is also clear that Antiochus Epiphanes is not the little horn. FURTHERMORE, Jesus referred to the prophecy. How can Antiochus be the fulfillment if Jesus referred to the same prophecy? And FURTHERMORE, how can the little horn antichrist be the fulfillment if Paul himself reminded the church that the prophecy was YET to be fulfilled in the person of the Papacy in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12?
So, lots of homework there.
Lord Jesus finished His work on the cross, His death burial, and resurrection, no other work is required.
You are correct..in order for a lost person to be saved..he needs to pray asking Christ to come into his heart..& to bring his dead spirit to life..with His perfect blood. & to cleanse him of his sins
in his past & present & future..all in one moment..asking for Christ to come into his heart forever to stay..
setting up an eternal & unbreakable relationship with him..reinging upon the themrone of his heart forever as his Saviour & Lord..salvation is a gift..the gift comes after a sinner prays
asking for salvation.
Amen !!! Investigative Judgement was a poor excuse for the 1844 debacle - It IS finished ! Amen
I truly loved this presentation. We should receive all these Testimonies from Jesus given to us in love, we all our hearts. All true Seventh-day-Adventists will believe and preach these 7 doctrines; Salvation, Scripture, Second coming, State of the dead, Spirit of prophecy, Sabbath, Sanctuary.

If we are people of the book, and Ellen White always pointed people to the book, and we believe in the principle of Sola Scriptura, then why do we need Ellen White and continue to quote her? Shouldn't the Bible be all we need?
Why do you use different sources when researching? For greater clarity... deeper understanding. Her writings help to magnify God's Word.
Why do you listen to sermons since you have your Bible?
If you know and believe that listening to good and godly sermons is right then reading and quoting Ellen books is also similar to listening to sermons. And as long as her writings is not against the scripture then why should we despise and her writings so much.
I have come to realize that many in the SDA church hate to hear anything about Ellen white simply because her writings are rebuke to their lives, those who hate ELLEN WHITE writings are the enemy of the church and are not ready to change their attitude base on her writings and warnings.
Just as the pharisees saw Jesus as a threat to them so also many in the church today are the descendants of the pharisees, they hate the sayings and writings of ELLEN WHITE, her writings are simply threat to their ungodly lives.
Even Sis White (as she was called back then) herself encouraged others to first go to the scriptures... not her testimonies. She was a messenger of God pointing all to the scriptures- God's word.

I know that Adventist would never admit this, but it seems to me that in Adventism (besides the few who come as believers from other churches, probably "convicted" about the Sabbath) the order of knowledge is Ellen White --> the Bible --> Jesus. So logically, you are viewing the Bible and Jesus through the lens of Ellen White visions. Very similar what the Catholics have in visions of their saints and Mary and so on. Very disturbing.
Hi Friend, No, we don't see the Bible or Jesus through Ellen White. We would never admit that we do because that is not true. There may be some here and there who might have such a view, which is wrong; that is not something that we teach. Take a look at all of our fundamental doctrines; you will see that all of them come directly from the Bible.

A simple question - why is Jesus doing the work in heaven, as you say - investigated judgment, according to the law and levitical priesthood when Hebrew 7,8,9,10 says that He - is a priest according to the Melchisedek so therefore the law neccesary needed to be changed (7:18,19,28) and He entered into the Heaven itself which is said that is earthly Holy of Holies (9:12,24; 10:12)?

Christ is our Sabbath rest. He instructed to come to Him to find rest. He is the Lord of the Sabbath rest. Paul tried to emphasize this as believers argued over days to worship. It was the Jews major flaw in dealing with scripture, making it legalistic and physical. Christ is our Sabbath rest, which makes every day holy and sacred.
Jesus did not replace the sabbath day. The Bible does not support that.
I agree with you..once you are saved, you will always be saved..a true sabbath rest in Christ never ends..
being born again is forever.

Run. RUN NOW! Read Hebrews 7:27 Unlike the other high priests, he does not need to offer sacrifices day after day, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
"God is love" is neither the first words or the last words in the completely trustworthy Volumes 1-4 of Spirit of Prophecy, the hardbacks of which I have and read daily. However, I also read the 5 Volume Conflict of the Ages series.
God is love is the first and last phrase of the conflict of the ages series.
I think we are overly sensitive to placating those that are unconverted in the Church in regard to the authority of Ellen White. Those that are genuinely converted will hear the voice of the good Shepherd in her writings. We don't need to be equivocal about our certainty in the authority behind her writings.

And yet, how is it that our present church proclaims a gospel other than that which EGW and the pioneers of our church first established?
Why is it that our present fundamental beliefs starkly differ to that which was originally validated by the very Spirit of God, and thereby recorded?
The 1872 fundamental principles conflict with that which is documented in our 1980 beliefs.
How did this come to be?

Should not all SDA members be 'concerned' that our church has wandered away from the pillars of our pioneers?
The 28 Fundamental Beliefs have 3 God's, look at 3-5. The Bible portrays one (1) God - James 2:19 etc. The White Estate will give you the run around. The Bible says to "ask for the old paths..but they (SDA Church) said "we will not walk therein." Jeremiah 6:16. YES the 1872 Fundamental Principles should be still used!!!

I do see that we are on the same page on this. Recently there are more church members that are awakening to the truth of our God. It is far more than a shame to find that our denomination has buried the old truth. They have venerated 'another god'.

Did E. White not have access the New Testement? How could she/they predict the arrival of Jesus Christ in 1844 when according to Scripture, no man knows the day nor the hour, not even Jesus Christ? I would greatly appreciate some insight/answers. Thank you.

The prediction of the second coming in 1844 was made by William miller. He started preaching it in the 1830s. Ellen white and others heard him preach it at some point and joined his movement. Why William miller did not take “no one knows the day or hour” into account, I do not know.
@@justamessenger4577 thank you. I just don't understand how or why some SDA take her word (EGW) above Gods when she was a part of a movement that did not take the scriptures into account on some occasions. The way she is "lifted" up is sometimes a hindrance to the true work of the gospel.

When William miller was preaching the second coming, ellen white was not getting visions yet. She did not start having them until after the great disappointment. And one thing that she taught after that was that “no one knows the day nor hour”. She was very adamant that predictions about the second coming were not allowed. So she would agree with you that “no one knows the day nor hour”. Her writings follow the Bible very well.
We do not hold her writings above the Bible, not even she did. She made it clear that her writings were not meant to replace the Bible. Some may have put her writings above the Bible, but I have not met any that do this and I have been an Adventist for over 20 years.

This sermon was meant to share theology possibly to support EGW as prophetess, however I just don’t see it. This sounds like a presentation given when touring at a museum. I was hoping for something more. I don’t have time to devote to read all her works and in the big scheme of things, I would rather read the Bible, the original and only work I should be focusing on. Maybe others are tired of reading the Bible and that is why she her writings point back to the Bible, but for me the Bible is enough.

The Bible authors predicted that the gift of prophecy will extend till the end of time. Ephesians 4:11-14, Revelation 12:17, Joel 2:28, and Matthew 24:5,11,24 for example.
So if you truly believe the Bible, then you truly must believe that God would raise up a prophet before the end of time.

On a number line there is a 0, so the math works out to be 1843, no issues. But we are not counting on a number line, we are counting on a timeline. On a timeline THERE IS NO YEAR ZERO. The years at that point go 2bc, 1bc, 1ad, 2ad and so on. So on a timeline 457bc plus 2300 years comes out to 1844ad.

Here is how this works:
457bc is the starting point. The final year BC is the year 1BC. Year 457bc to year 1BC is 456 years.
There is no year zero, so year 1BC is followed by year 1AD. Like dates in these two years are separated by 1 year. So far we have 456 + 1 is 457 years counted. We have 1843 years left to count.
Now picking up at year 1AD, we move forward the remaining 1843 years. 1 + 1843 = 1844.
I can’t demonstrate it any clearer than that.

I’m a Adventists for the past 2 years. Was baptized, go to Bible studies. I don’t believe their beliefs. Where in scripture does it say the seal is the Sabbath? The seal is obviously the Holy Spirit. And they believe that Michael the archangel is Jesus

My problem with E.G.White is that she claims that Moses was resurrected to "immortal life".
This is not found in Scripture.
In fact it contradicts the word of God.
Why is Moses being resurrected to immortal life not biblical? He appears to Jesus along with Elijah, so something happened.

Jesus stated that no man has gone to heaven.
The account of Moses on the mount of transfiguration was a VISION.
There is not a single verse in all the Scriptures that Moses was raised from the dead to immortal life.
In Hebrews 11 it is clear that nobody has yet received the promise.
Not a single person has gone to heaven. On this the Bible is clear.

Then what is going on in Jude 1:9? Why would the archangel contend with Satan over the body of Moses if he wasn’t going to be resurrected? There would not be a discussion about it. But Jude shows that there was a contention.
And where is Enoch and Elijah? Enoch was taken by God (genesis 5) and Elijah was taken into heaven (2 kings 2:11). I understand what Jesus said in John 3:13 but Elijah and Enoch contradict what you believe Jesus meant. And since the Bible doesn’t contradict itself, Jesus may have meant something else. Perhaps when He said “no man has ascended to heaven” that He meant no man on earth has gone into heaven on their own. Cuz it is obvious that Elijah and Enoch are there but they did not fly up there on their own, they were taken. This shows that there is no issue with Moses being in heaven as long as God is the one who got him there.

Luke 9. 28-36 is revealed as a VISION Mat 17:9 And as they came down from the mountain, Jesus charged them, saying, Tell the VISION to no man, until the Son of man be risen again from the dead.
(The word vision, (Horama, in Greek, is found 12 times in the New Testament, and in each case it represents a supernatural vision)
The account of Elijah in 2 Kings 2 does not state that Elijah was taken to the abode of God. He was lifted by a whirlwind into the sky, and we read that people went to look for him on earth.
2Ki 2:16 And they said unto him, Behold now, there be with thy servants fifty strong men; let them go, we pray thee, and seek thy master: lest peradventure the Spirit of the LORD hath taken him up, and cast him upon some mountain, or into some valley. And he said, Ye shall not send.
2Ki 2:17 And when they urged him till he was ashamed, he said, Send. They sent therefore fifty men; and they sought three days, but found him not. Further to this we have confirmation that Elijah was still alive on earth.
Here we read that some six to eight years after this account that Elijah sent a letter to king Jehoram
2Ch 21:12 And there came a writing to him from Elijah the prophet, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of David thy father, Because thou hast not walked in the ways of Jehoshaphat thy father, nor in the ways of Asa king of Judah,
Matthew 27. 45-56 makes no mention of those raised being in heaven.
Genesis 5. 22-24 says that Enoch died (ALL his days was 365 years, and he was TAKEN.)

Heb 11:40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
Jesus clearly stated that no man has ascended to heaven. I believe Him. The Scriptural evidence given is clear.

Jean le Roux has given texts to prove that your belief rejects the clear Word of God, in favour of White and attempts to massage the Bible to fit White's writings.
For example, amongst other points raised, how can Moses be raised to immortal life when the Bible states that only God has immortality?

we say her writings direct us to scriptures but the church often directs us to her writings, I think this is issue, especially for younger generations.

The investigative judgement has its biblical foundation several ways:
1) revelation 22:12 Jesus said He is coming with rewards. That means who gets what reward has already been determined. Which then means this was “investigated” before He returns.
2) check out anytime God pronounced judgment on anyone (Adam/eve, Sodom and Gomorrah, the flood, babel, etc). There are many examples of an investigation being done prior to judgment in the Bible.
3) Daniel shows books being opened before the second coming (Daniel 7:10)
EGW's writings, or original books more specifically, have been changed by re-editing and now have become the focus of SDA members to keep reading in place of the greater light, aka, the Authorized Bible, aka, the KJV. God did not give anyone the authorization to change or mess with the words of his prophets, including his prophets.

The Testimony of Jesus is "The Testimony of THE prophet". It is what drives the prophet. See on 1 John 5:11-13, it is the identifying mark of the church, not just in the end, but across the whole Christian age. It is not a term just referring to one with the prophet gift. The saints under the altar who have given their lives for the cause were there for the Word of God and the Testimony (of Jesus). See on Rev. 6:9-12.
Hi Karl, you bring a good point. We must also let the Bible interpret itself. Revelation 12:17 says that one of the identifying marks of the remnant church is that they have the testimony of Jesus Christ. Revelation 19:10 says, "...for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." So, while all can bear testimony of Jesus Christ, prophets play a special role because they receive direct revelation from God and communicate that with the people. So, in a special sense prophets bear testimony of Jesus. Jesus himself says in John 5:39 that the scriptures, which were written by prophets, testify of him.
She didn't have any argument with those who called her a prophet. Get the book "A Prophet Among You." by T. Housal Jaminson

Day keeping and food are not the test of true Christian faith.
Doing anything God requires is a test of faith.
For example, the sabbath. It takes a good amount of faith to reject a high paying job that requires work on the sabbath.
I was unemployed for a year after I retired from the military because everyone I interviewed with wanted me to work on sabbath. I finally got a job that did not require work on sabbath. God got us through the time of unemployment until He opened up an opportunity for me.
So keeping the sabbath is a test of faith.

We don’t keep the sabbath to be saved, this is a very common misconception that is not unique to you. We are saved by the grace of God, that is one of our foundational beliefs. We keep the sabbath because we are saved and becasue we love Jesus. And as you said, we hold to the promise of the resurrection because Jesus was resurrected. No SDA would disagree with you.
Now that you know what SDA believe in this area, do you still think we are a cult? Especially since when it comes to being saved, we believe the same thing you do?
