- Revelation describes a false church system depicted as a harlot riding a beast in Revelation 17. This Babylonian system of religion is rooted in man made teachings and traditions. In contrast, Christ’s church is built upon the solid foundation of His Word, guided by His Spirit. How do we know if we are deceived by this false system and their false doctrine and can we identify this false religious entity? The Bible has given us characteristics that we can know without a shadow of a doubt.

Good message but I notice their publications use false images. How can one be better than the other? There should be no images at all, but Yahshua is certainly not described as what is shown in these publications.

@Mike Flanagan Col 2:16 teaches the opposite of what most people think. "Let no man judge you.....but the body of Christ". In other words, don't let outsiders judge what you should do, but rather the Church. Jews were trying in influence Gentile Christians, as many other Scriptures bear out. That was what Paul was warning against.

In referring tofestivals that had been required by God's Law to ancient Israel, the apostle Paul wrote Colossians 2:16, 17. The Christians in Colossae were to let no one judge their standing before God on the basis of observance of festivals of the Mosaic Law.

William, Thanks for saying hello. But consider this - Christ said if you love me keep my commandments. The 10 commandments were changed by the Roman Catholic church. The 7th day is the Sabbath and not Sunday which is the first day of the week. Shall we join others who speak in an unknown tongues - correct doctrine gives direction to Christian experience in daily living. The persecution to come upon the church will be brought by professing Christians who want to enforce their interpretation of God's laws. Paul said the day is coming when people will not accept sound doctrine, so doctrine is very important---if you don't know doctrine then you don't know the God who gave it.
Jesus found only one Church . Thats the Roman catholic Church . Rest all false church including SDA. Remember u ppl found ur church recently.... U ppl came in between. Learn properly& return to God's Church

I have been a lifelong devoted Christian growing up in a devout home but we missed the light of observing the Saturday Sabbath and immersion baptism. Welcome to our home where God's is home and do more study
The ten identifying marks are as follows;
1. Arises out of the fourth beast/Rome, Vs 8, 24.
2. Arises after the 10 horns/10 divisions of western Rome, Vs 8, 24.
3. Arises among the 10 horns/10 divisions of western Rome, V 8.
4. As he arose he plucked up 3 horns by the roots/exterminated 3 kingdoms of western Rome, Vs 8, 24.
5. Began little but became more stout, greater or more arrogant than his fellows, Vs 8, 20.
6. Diverse, or different, from the others, V 24.
7. Eyes like the eyes of man, speak great words, which is blasphemy against the Most High, Vs 8, 25. The Bible defines blasphemy as; when being only a man you make yourself as God. (John 10:30-33) Also claiming to be able to forgive sins when only a man. (Mark 2:5-7)
8. Thinks to change times and laws, V 25.
9. Wears out, that is persecutes the saints, V25.
10. He would reign for a time, times, and the dividing/half a time, V 25.
The word time in the original language here means a year, thus it would be a time = 1 year, times = 2 years, half a time = 1/2 a year. Making 3 1/2 years in total. In Revelation 12:6 it is known as 1260 days and in Revelation 13:5 42 months, showing us that each year had 360 days in it. A day in Bible prophecy = a year. (In Ezekiel 4:6, Ezekiel was acting out a prophetic parable, and the Lord gave him each day for a year and in Numbers 14:34, the Lord prophesied that each day the spies searched the land, 40 days in total, they would spend a year wandering in the wilderness, 40 years in total). So we find a day = a year in prophecy, thus we have here this little horn reigning for 1260 years.
These are the 10 identifying marks of the little horn, commonly known as the Anti-Christ power. To be this power, all 10 marks must be fulfilled. There is only one power that fulfils every identifying mark, that is the Papacy/Roman Catholic Church. The people are not the antichrist but the system is the system of antichrist.
We will now go through and show how the Papacy/Catholic Church meets these requirements.
The Papacy rose out of the fourth beast/Rome.
It also rose after the 10 divisions of the western Roman empire in 476 A.D., as it rose to full supremacy in 538 A.D.
The Papacy rose out of Rome itself, showing that it came up amongst the 10 divisions of the western Roman empire.
The 3 horns were the Heruli, Vandals and the Ostrogoths. All three held to the doctrine of Arianism, (this teaches that Jesus is not “God” but that is in fact a created being, he came forth from the Father at some time in eternity past). These were vehemently opposed to the Papacy and were obstructing them from rising to full supremacy. Odoacer, king of the Heruli, took the throne of Italy in 476 A.D. Gibbon, Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, Vol 4, chapter 36, pg 58. The Heruli were an oppressing power to the Papacy and thus needed to be removed. Zeno, emperor of the East, and a friend of the pope, was anxious to drive Odoacer out of Italy. Machiavelli, pg 6. This he saw done by Theodoric who had taken the throne of the Ostrogoths, and was on friendly terms with him. Theodoric wrote a letter to Zeno asking permission to take his Goths to some more favourable region, which they might conquer and possess. Zeno gave permission to march against Odoacer and take possession of Italy. The war lasted 3 years until in 493 A.D. the Heruli were overthrown and Odoacer treacherously slain. At this time we think it appropriate to quote from Machiavelli’s History of Florence, pg 14; “Nearly all the wars which the northern barbarians carried on in Italy, it may be here remarked, were occasioned by the pontiffs; and the hordes with which the country was inundated, were generally called in by them.” So though the hands of the Roman pontiffs might not be visibly manifest in the movements upon the political board, they constituted the power working assiduously behind the scenes to secur

I've always wanted to know more about this Cosmic conflict. I found that very little was taught about this Cosmic conflict in the church, except for the three angel's message teaching and prophecy. As I have grown older now, I believe that God is busy answering my prayers now to understand more about this Cosmic conflict.

There are two ways to go here, I think. Charles Stanley is good for day to day "food" . His messages are neither hard to understand nor hard hearted. Consider staying with him. There are many preachers doing some interpretation about Revelations. Some are better. More like a costly meal once in a while. Interesting to partake but day to day food is more needed for growth. Jehovah is the Father who send his son ( Jesus) to the world to save people from sin. JW. ORG. for your own research. Listen to no man teaching. Listen not to me. Listen to the Heavenly Father Jehovah who send his son then you can have the true teaching from God. Do not obey those who refuse to use God's name to replace with the word " Lord". How well do you know Jesus teaching? How well can you understand Jesus mentioned about his Heavily Father.? Man who translated the Bible are not necessarily close to God. Many man followed the tradition teaching rather then doing research. The only Bible that mention God has a name called " YHWH" or "Yehweh" in Hebrew language is from Old King James Bible. I brought that bible with me to chuches but nobody seems to know about it. Then 30 yrs ago I saw the Jehovah wittness having a bible study with my friend then he showed me about God's name from my old King James bible. If we pray to the true God Jehovah he will show us the whole truth about Himself and his only begotten Son Jesus Christ. As we all know today all the churches are divided with spiritual corrupted teaching if I have to be honestly to you. Do your research. Pray to God Jehovah and the Truth will set you free. So "evil days are coming"!!? You've been soaking in them for over a couple of centuries, alas even longer. The thrust of "The Updated" Teachings is "Human Harmony", one "TRUTH" seeker at a time. Don't forget, "GOD'S TIMING IS PERFECT", today's world's conditions is on par with men's stubborness/evil intent, "repent" is the old, "research" is now imperative in the midst of centuries old misguidance. God DOES NOT JUDGE, He guides uppon request the "individualist" that He is, hence that inmaterial "ESSENCE" we call SOUL.
@Mike Flanagan you have some good points but let me tell you what happened to somebody I know. Years ago he read seventh day Adventist literature on Saturday was a true Sabbath and he became convinced that it was but he was attending a church that he liked them at on Sunday. Then later he read some literature saying that Sunday was a correct day and it may have been put out by the southern baptist but not sure, but anyway just left them confused because he seem to be very convincing. I can't remember where the verse is now are but he came across the verges I mean the verses that say judging not one another according to Sabbath. He took that to mean that he should not judge those who go to church on Saturday and also go to church on Saturday should not judge him if he goes on Sunday. As far as I know both groups believe in the risen Christ. I think there should be unity among all Christians even if we may disagree on such things as a correct day to go to church and so on, we still have our common belief in salvation through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. The woman as the church just makes no sense at all. Christ was not born out of the church, the church did not birth Christ. Jesus was born of the 12 tribes of Israel. The Church was bon on the day of Pentecost after the resurrection. Israel (the 12 tribes) is refereed to as a WOMAN over and over again in the OT.
