I have been traveling to Beirut for over 50 years, winter included. A fantastic city for sure. The people make it so.

Beirut was called the pearl of the med. Before the war.

Hezbolla, a polical group? I call a spade a spade where I come from. Hezbolla is an Iranian army of terrorists who destroyed the most beautful country along the med.

Love the accent, love the story, been backpacking for over a year in similar conditions, admittedly not in the ME, and know exactly what you mean by this sense of freedom, highly recommended.
My observations it that that kind of freedom is not the place, nor even the people you are surrounded with, although it helps, and I also suspect it highly correlates with being young :)

9:00 "You wouldn't just have a machine gun for no reason" - actually yes, in that part of the world a lot of people do. There are so many weapons abandoned from so many wars and the governments are much more loose, and weak even if they aren't loose. Iraqi civilians were the most heavily armed in the world before the US invasion (don't know what happened after that, but the amount of weapons that must have been left over from the war probably even increased it I guess).

Wow Hezbollah has murdered 10s of thousands. Nice surface experience of the place. Once you learn Arabic you will be shocked at what the people around you are saying. Read sunah 5:51

I'm sure Hezbollah have committed many wrongs. You may be interested to know that my video was filmed on a smartphone, the supply chain for which includes many unspeakable horrors. What a world of contradiction we live in. Thanks for the reading suggestion, but I think I will stick with Hegel for now.

@NickToland this is what I don't get about Westerners in general or let me say white people in particular. They see other group's wrongdoing (true or false) as that group's identity but they see their own catastrophic wrongdoings as simply mistakes.
So, here is what I assume a white person (you) objecting to the fact that a person found a positive experience in visiting Lebanon by pointing out what you thought that group had done or what those bunch of people there could have been saying in their own native language. Dude, are you aware of the right wing and the ultra-right wing discourse in Europe and America? Are you aware of what the West has inflicted upon "third world" nations since after WWII? Do you comment on people visiting Europe and America by pointing out how racist and ignorant the people there could be? Or is it more likely you tell those people in your own native language to go back where they came from?

@NickToland do you know how much were unalived by the West just in the years after WWII? Have you never met a skinhead in Europe or in America? What is your stupid point again?

You got two comments from me for the price of one 😂. I thought YT had deleted my first one, so I posted the second. You lucky you.
