IMHO one of the best songs ever created by the King Crimson. Love it so much, would love to hear it again one day live...
Unfortunately it's not a song (although they could've fooled me) and it's probably not written down...
Really wish somebody would pick up a pen and chart this bad boy out (looking at you Steve Vai) but it's a LOT of fuckin notes lol
The first 3 minutes are sort of D Minor/A Phrygian so that's a start I guess
Psychedelic and hallucinating improvisation.
The few extra minutes are worth to be listened to ! I love the full version better than the one which was released cut.
This song alone and Robert Fripp, had such a profound influence on my guitar playing and musical intuition. When I was a teenager and would jam with players, I would try and get into this type of sound state.
The tension and torment and release of electrical solar energy spasms, ripping and rending and sending the night above and beyond as it climbs the sky

Imo the version from Kassel 74 is the very best. I wish they'd put that show (the bit that exists from the box set) on youtube. It's definitive.
