Pretty cool to see my dad's old trawler traveling down to Florida. The estate sold it to someone in ME back in 2001. I spent my twenty's (in the 1990s) keeping those decks clean, buffing the hull and helping install all those teak boxes w the autohelm gauges on the bridge (which is why I'm pretty confident this is her). Great to see the old girl still in service!
Niiiice!!!! U r quite handy dude! Good stuff!! I hope when you give the safety shpeel you are sure to tell your guests when we run out of beer and you find a keg onboard, DO NOT TAP that THING😂
Nice tour. When you start working on the flybridge roof, think about using the solar panels themselves as the roof, with a framework to hold them. I've seen it done on other boats and it makes for a clean install.
Nice boat ! We slept in forward v berth of our Morgan OI 41 for similar ventilation and to hear anchor chain noises and wave action. I had a small magnetic compass with a push button light just above my berth so I could see the boat heading during wind shifts. When wife was on watch during passages I had a small handheld gps up in the v berth so I could monitor progress while napping.
Gus the floors look awesome!! First time I’ve seen them up close since your floor video. You’ve made it your own, and have done well. Can’t wait to see her after she comes off the hard and all that you will have done to her.
Thanks for the tour Gus, I love your boat.!!. it looks very comfy to live on.. and really like the separate head and shower in the forward stateroom.... I would want a larger refrigerator tho. and then move the microwave elsewhere... I like the idea of the hardtop over the flybridge and aft deck... Because I would like a enclosed area on the aft deck, kind of like a screened in patio.. to get out of the Sun and keep the bugs out.. If I could find one like this at a decent price I would get one for myself to live on.. for sure
I agree for sure, I would prefer a bigger fridge in that area. I think I could live without the microwave If this were the case! 😂 Thank you for watching!
awesome. thanks for sharing. I think of trawler life - own what you can enjoy. I Have a 1988 Island Gypsy work in progress, we enjoy ever day. Thanks for sharing
Sure makes me miss my 42' Grand Banks!. I enjoyed that so much and the places it took me. Enjoying your channel. Wishing you fair winds and following seas!
Good morning my friend, I see you’re coming up to North Carolina looking forward to watching your northern Loop trip. As an old sail boater of a 40 foot , cleaning is important to me. Just a tip as to what I do, I use copious amounts of Wesley‘s white wall cleaner. I can let it sit on the teak then use a scrub brush and it comes out very clean. Same for the top deck if I have a stubborn stain I let it sit there for a few minutes then I scrub it off. I have since sold this boat but the person who bought it appreciated the clean teak and decks . So go pick yourself up some Wesley’s white wall cleaner I’ve been using this stuff for years even back when we had white walls on our automobiles. Enjoy your trip up north.
Great boat! Keep on sharing your adventures. I have never been brave enough to give everything up, but a boat, and have an adventure. Peace and safe travels.
Very nice boat. When I was your age I could only dream of something like this. You already reached it ! You did make some very practical solutions to common problems, very nicely done. Must warn you for the hard top though. Before you do this check with a boat builder and make the calculation for the CoG, it is going to be a massive impact. I had the same idea with my Defever 49 and the yard that built the boat actually told me that I cannot do it. It would destabilize the boat and since your boat is smaller I would have that checked before you commit. Instead of putting the panels on the Bimini I placed the panels on the side railing and next year I will add a frame on the stern of the boat where I will place another 5 panels of 405 Wp. I know many people go for flexible panels, but they only last for a couple of years, so I decided to go for the normal house panels, which will last about 20 years. Also don't forget that many flexible panels will not produce as much after 1 or 2 years, they degrade pretty fast. I wish you a lot of success for the rest of your projects and that floor truly looks amazing. This is where I am going to copy you, since I have to do my floor as well. 😀
Nice walkthrough! Thanks. I’d be interested in a more in depth motor tour. Being a gas guy, I’m curious to learn about diesels. What daily maintenance checks are required, basic PM’s etc. thanks Gus!
Perfect beginner boat. Lots of options to make it better with a solid foundation. The Cummins will last forever. Cruise the Bahamas after Hurricane season.
Great tour Gus, as I said before, a little tlc on the woodwork and it will look a million dollars, looking forward to you starting the hardtop in the future
Looks to me like you hooked yourself up with a pretty nice "project boat". How better to know how to be a boater than to fix everything on a boat before investing big....or at all. great job.
Loving the videos! I'm trying to find the Quest on Airbnb but without luck. Can you have the new owner (Chris I think?) get in touch with me? We'd like to rent the Quest to see if my wife could stay on a boat for an extended time. If so cruising the east coast or even the Loop may be in the future... Thanks.
Gus , Hey Brother ditto I'd much rather sleep forward vs aft just because of the water slapping the hull and bounce always loved sleeping in aft cabins
Hi Gus, This is my first time looking at your channel. So I might ask questions that you may have already covered. I did not realize a trawler could be so roomy and comfortable. You may have some more changes to make but for an older boat it looks pretty nice to me. I too would want to have the forward cabin. It appears larger and has a bigger mattress. Btw where is the access to the engine room? From what I see it would be an easy task to install central air conditioning. With the new kits you could have a choice to have reverse heat as well. What material is the hull made from? Well I hope to see more of you on here.
Just stumbled across this. Love the tour. How much did you pay for the boat? How much does it cost you to maintain? Would also love a video on how you made and installed that custom sewage tank.
This is awesome! Mind if I ask how much it cost for the boat and any repairs/updates? I don't have a ton of money but I'm trying to figure out if I can make it happen.
Thanks for tour. Great layout. What kind of antenna do you use to get TV reception? Do you like using your separated throttle/gear controls or would you prefer modern integrated throttle/gear units? What do you use for a generator? How do you keep the refrigerator working when you're on anchor? Do you have to run a generator for several hours every day? Do you have AIS identification and can you see AIS identification on nearby yachts and ships? What do you use for weather forecasting? You have gone far on the Albin and it has served you well. I imagine it would have been much harder to do the voyaging without your advanced mechanical skills. Looking forward to more videos, especially the delivery on the Erie Canal.
Thank you for watching! To answer your questions- For TV I have a cheap digital Tv antenna mounted to the back of the TV it works just ok - I mostly use the WIFI hotspot on my phone. I like the separate throttle and gear controls but I suppose I don't have a preference Vs integrated controls. While on anchor the solar setup puts out enough to run everything and to fully charge the batteries during the day. When I want A/C, I can run it off the batteries overnight but In the morning I will run the generator to help the recharge the batteries. My generator is just a pocket inverter generator that I run on the flybridge. I do not transmit AIS. For weather I use several apps on my phone like Windy, accuweather and Noaa.
Just found your channel and subb'd. Not many power boat channels out there so its always nice to find a new one. We also have a power boat channel if you are interested called Cruising Jackson Rose! Cheers!
Where whas kitty when you filmed this video? Nvm, Just watched on of ur other video's 😉 i am more of a sailboat guy my selfe. Lucky for me with these fuel prices 😕. But i love ur video's man. Hope you can get by financially. Keep the vids going though ❤
I am binge watching all your videos. Just a comment about your audio. The music is so much louder than the dialogue that I have to keep changing the volume levels.
Get yourself a can of Bar Keepers Friend cleanser at the grocery store. It's oxalic acid and will clean all that rust easily. Don't waste money at West Marine for deck cleaner. BARKERPERS friend is better and it's cheap.
I am new to all this, but can't you just drive to the places you go in your boat? I don't understand why people take a boat to a place that cars can better go and for less money and faster?
Nothing like going back in time and binging the old In Too Deep videos. Crazy how this was your first boat and now you have a massive 78' yacht.

It's cool seeing your progression from this boat to the current one in 2024. Each new boat is better but even this first one is nice and livable
The floor job came out nice you put a lot of hard work in it.good job.
Thanks for the tour! Good set up that you have. Enjoy!

Ur a special man, watching a monitor while napping 🤣
Great series, Gus! I have a 1988 Albin 27FC, in Stuart, FL. so, this is right up my alley! Love your boat!
Great tour. Thanks for that. Great boat with a great layout.
This is a real interesting video. And you are not trying to be funny , amusing, entertaining as you show your craft. Very nice job!!!
Gus the floors look awesome!! First time I’ve seen them up close since your floor video. You’ve made it your own, and have done well. Can’t wait to see her after she comes off the hard and all that you will have done to her.
You did a great job refinishing that deck!
Great tour Gus !!! She's a beauty!!

@@InTooDeepBro I think you could find another space for the microwave....
What a great boat! So we’ll equipped, and xtra points for the keg / tank!💪🏻
Great tour! I am living vicariously through you!!

Great tour! And yes, definitely the perfect style of mini yacht for beginners!
I enjoy your videos a lot, I live in Miami, God willing one day we will meet, greetings. Captain Rudy.
Nice walkthrough! Thanks. I’d be interested in a more in depth motor tour. Being a gas guy, I’m curious to learn about diesels. What daily maintenance checks are required, basic PM’s etc. thanks Gus!
Nice walk through Gus. I always wanted the Albin 25, still do, Albin makes a damn tough boat!
Gus, time to flip this one and upgrade to over forty feet! You did a nice job on fixing this one. Maybe a catamaran next!
I got my boat certificate, not sure if i need an actual license to drive a boat but i love your boat!
Perfect beginner boat. Lots of options to make it better with a solid foundation. The Cummins will last forever. Cruise the Bahamas after Hurricane season.
Your kicking ass. Love it.
Loved the tour
Great tour Gus, as I said before, a little tlc on the woodwork and it will look a million dollars, looking forward to you starting the hardtop in the future
really cool layout, nice boat gus
The floor inside has held up well still looks great.
I like 42,Grand Banks, Florida Keys Mike,,nice Trawler
I like that your boat has twin engines. One engine just doesn’t cut it when something goes wrong with no land in sight.
@@ianscott3180 only if the weather is favorable, no wind, too much wind, wrong direction, floundering in dangerous seas without power, no thanks.
Wow! What a tour.
That is friggin AWESOME.
Thanks for sharing!
Nice boat/home. It's definitely got everything you need. I just subscribed.
Looks to me like you hooked yourself up with a pretty nice "project boat". How better to know how to be a boater than to fix everything on a boat before investing big....or at all. great job.

Hi. Love your trawler and I enjoy watching your channel. That said can you advise or share your solar power size on the boat

Love the vids you should travel to California by boat it would make some good content
Thanks for the tour. do you have synchronizers for your engines or do you sync them by tack them and ear
Replace all your anchors with 1 SARCA excel #5 (48lbs) and use Oxalic acid to clean the rust off your front deck
Gotta do mini splits for AC now bro.. they are so effecient now they can run off your battiers!
Don't give up the ship!...where you from? I guessing lake Erie
