hey your a normal person , despite the comments below . This charger is a smart charger , and after sitting without use , for some reason , it doesn't come on . good news its not broken . especially if the battery is completely dead . Get 2 aligator clips and 9v battery ,hook charger cables to car .take the 9v battery , and hook alligator clips , positive to P - negative to N . then take the other end of N , and hoot it to car , and just touch Positive alligator to positive side on battery and it should pop right on. blessings
You basically looked in there nodded your head once or twice and said yep it’s broken. Don’t you even own a multi tester to determine if you’re getting any kind of output.
Yea boring, especially since you attempted no meaningful diagnosis. AC voltage of the main transformer, rectified output voltage, AV input voltage?? Switching the jack strip on snd off rapidly like you did was for what purpose exactly and not at all wise for the power strip or the charger. Maybe if you had cleaned and tighten the connection of that disconnected wire you might have fixed it!
These chargers won’t recognize a dead battery so they won’t turn on if you try to do so. I use my portable jumper cable box to “jump start” a dead battery when I connect the charger. 🤠👍
Both of my older ones just like this do recognize a dead battery. And will jump a dead battery and I mean dead dead. I just got another new one yeaterday its blue but the same and it will not.... What a waste. I don't understand the purpose of the engine start function if it won't jump a dead battery. Or charge a dead battery ill be finding me a few old models to keep
On the positive side of your charging leads coming inside the charger. The black box just inside to the hot lead is the kick out relay and doesn't have a fuse. I don't think I'm working on 1 at the present. Experience very little that it is.Usually the switch or one of the switches, Secondly, I learned some time ago that putting a battery charger on boost start is asking for issues. So as a rule.I don't even use that setting, Ever I don't want your battery charger to have work again.shouldn't even put that on there
you only looked one side of the charger for the fuse you did not look at the other side You looked at only one side of the charger for the fuse. You did not look on the other side of the charger.
Good video, terrible charger, but you can get over that. By Disconnecting the incoming power black. From circuit board the circuit board and splash it into the transformer. Incoming power, you will not get any readings, but it'll function manually. By switching the the 210 and 50AM. Only for someone that has electrical knowledge, thank you. Good luck

so, should I buy the more expensive digital one?

You just help me with a wiring problem in one i get totally disconnected inside 👍🏻
mine never worked from new pos
Don't trash it. Send it to one of the other YT guys with a successful diagnosis and repair.

I use my kid's 12v Power wheel battery in Parallel to get it to recognize the dead battery and turn on, then Ill disconnect the power wheel battery.

Side by side to my old one it will not and the old one will i wish there was a hack. Other than using another jump
Such a pain

The idiots designed this charger to work like a lithium batter charger. If the voltage is too low in the battery, the POS charger won't charge it.
To brian: you need more practical experience
