I'm amazed by the amount of old tips there still are. A lot of old tips were dug in the 70s and 80s but yet there are still lots more to be dug to this day. I'd say get a shovel in there and give it a proper dig. One day these tips will be gone forever.
"These are the little bits I managed to find". :o This is a huge haul, compared to what many bottle diggers & mudlarkers can find. I do hope you appreciate how fortunate you were, Gavin. I'm watching from Canada, & I was sad that you were so eager to find bottles that you didn't stop now & then to show us some of the pottery/china pieces that were cascading out of your holes. Even if it's not your thing, it might increase your subscriber numbers. Just a suggestion... :) Thank for the video & I have subscribed.
I know exactly where you are...in fact I live opposite the site. I've been so poorly this year and not able yo be out and about, I'm just about recovered from major surgery so may just treat myself to a wander over later! Weirdly enough I cam on TH-cam last night to search for this exact topic and recognised the accent straight away! All them beauties so close to home! Superb vid thanks for sharing!
Check out my broken Codds "Tahiti Lemonade Works Company Honolulu H.I." and "J.W. James Pure Mineral Water Los Angeles" found heaps last year, all broken. Turnmold, or paste mold wines, sometimes with applied seals.
Gav Beech no iam in Macclesfield I have done a bit of digging in Stoke for a few years wouldn’t mind having a mooch on there see if I can find any local gear?
I'm asking because my son lives in England,in the Wirral. I so much like to have a perfect embossed vaseline petroleum jelly bottle. Know it's not worth much, but if you ever get one that you can part with, please let me know. I'm from South Africa, too expensive to order anything from abroad. Thanks
Dan rylands was the son of Ben rylands the original codd was patented by codd himself and ben rylands came along with him, they made some separately but some together it was like a franchise they just had to say who patented it to use the codd bottle.
