    I used to work for United in Denver. It is an amazing airport. They poured enough concrete to build a two lane highway from Chicago to Las Angeles. Also the airport is so large that the entire city of San Francisco could comfortably fit in its confines. The access road for the airport is more than ten miles long. If there was heavy fog, this airport could still support triple IFR parallel approaches. Most airports are lucky to even support dual aproaches. Amazing airport.

    DEN is my home airport, I love it. It’s never taken me more than 30 minutes from walking in the front door until I’m sitting at my gate. Also, when I flew into it from LHR two years ago, it took me MAYBE 5 minutes to clear customs.

    Denver is a great airport to originate or transfer from. It’s a beautiful airport and very easy to maneuver between gates. The only drawback is when the weather acts up! DIA is in the shadow of the Rocky Mountains and due to it’s location, winds can sometime be an issue. DIA was my home airport for 5 years and now I fly threw often as a United Frequent Flyer. And although it has it’s share of weather issues, you can’t beat it for the simplicity!

      Cameron,
      I suspect the need for land, especially affordable land, is the reason DEN is so far from downtown.
      DEN has the largest land area of any airport in North America, and 2nd most land area of any commercial airport on Earth.
      I know that why?

      Beware if you are a flight attendant. I was for 24.5 years before being maimed for life on the job and terminated 4 weeks before full retirement at age 55 (minus 4 weeks) with a new pre-existing condition and no insurance. AFA, a union with AFL-CIO certification approves of maiming or killing crew members unless they accept Jesus and higher powers for TBIs, cervical spondylosis, pneumothoraxes, or death all of which employees of UALSW are faced with. Not a single of the 1,300+ ramp workers for UA in DEN were furloughed through this whole crisis, that's how insanely busy the recovery was come October 2020. As the video states, we're still down almost 100 flights daily from where we were 2019. Supposedly that's to come back by the end of the year. Insane.

      They did that specifically because the neighborhoods that encroached on Stapleton were complaining about the noise. They were demanding noise proofing on their windows and doors, etc.
      The solution was to remove from the city. Of course the new developments are encroaching once again, but since the airport was there first, they won't be able to make those demands.

    • @jfo738
      @jfo738 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@paolo6293 It's true the A-Line is a nice option for getting to the airport, but I was not without its going pains leaving passengers stranded on the tracks having to walk to the next stop to then board a bus to the airport. I think they have mostly worked out the issues, but I have still only taken the train home from the airport and have yet to have enough confidence to take the train before a flight.

    "North Bend, Oregon" - Well, I guess Redmond is now North Bend now hahaha. But for the record, Washington has North Bend we in the northwest think of, we in Oregon have just normal Bend, with Redmond being the one with a fair size airport with commercial flights, though I can't blame anyone for deciding instead to say "Bend Airport" given the fact that Bend is far more populous, popular and relevant than Redmond ever has been. And with our North Bend, we instead say and think of Coos Bay, NOT North Bend. North Bend IS Coos Bay to us, so you actually could confuse a lot of Oregonians by saying "North Bend, Oregon" instead of Coos Bay haha. Southwest Oregon Regional Airport is that X's official name & title.
