Yeah it’s a bit weird having a power output but it actually comes in really handy to be honest and something I used especially in the wind which averages a force 4 over here 👍

Replaced battery with a new one. Tried the hardware reset (taking battery out for 30 seconds / putting battery in wrong way round). Absolutely nothing. Any ideas?
Stoffendous stages cycling recommends resetting it once a week or before and major event or fitness test..... I haven’t reset mine since I installed it... it seems to work ok and I think I’m getting the same readings. ( I found this on a google search.... Do I need to calibrate the Stages Power meter? Not exactly, each Stages Power meter is calibrated during manufacturing using a sophisticated multistage process that is not necessary to repeat: however, it is recommended to perform a Zero Offset Calibration once a week or before any critical event or fitness test
No it wakes up when you start moving and shuts down after you finish, you should recalibrate it regularly though which is really easy and that battery will last ages, no problems so far! 👍
It’s good for anyone starting out on the power meter adventure, it gives a slightly higher reading than my Tacx Neo smart trainer but it is only one sided so it’s possible I’m more powerful on that side. It’s good enough for out on the road so I can see and gauge my ride based off the power, so I’d recommend it unless you want to get a whole new crank for the dual side. 👍
I don’t think so, as long as it calibrates I’m not sure what those numbers are... make sure you calibrate it as per the instructions and you should be fine. 👍
My understanding is is that when doing the calibration the numbers need to fall within 850-950 to mean that it was calibrated properly. The numbers themselves do not mean anything though.

Hmm that’s curious, I just spin my crank to wake mine up, I’m stumped if you’ve tried all of those things... sorry I can’t be of more help. 👍

I am just about to order one of these so this was extremely helpful, thank you so much. What was the torque wrench kit you were using?
Yeah no worries! The torque wrench was the x-tools set 1/4 inch square driver. I think I did a video it it some time ago if you check my video list! 👍

What does the resetting to zero?
Over time the readings can become inaccurate. So resetting the sensor to zero or default, improves the accuracy of the power meter. 👍
