Hi Jane! If you use good quality mesh and ribbon then you won’t have very much fraying. Canvas ribbon is the best and I recommend Craig Bachman mesh which I sell in my shop or places like Trendy Tree. Here is the link to my website. hardworkingmomstore.com/.
