      Just another classy, old-fashioned guy enjoying the marvels of engineering and technology. Add a badass tattooed chick and a glass of whiskey, and we can rest in peace

    Faria outra dessa brevemente caso não tivesse derrubado minha atual moto, uma NC 750X na perna, o que me causou uma fratura feia.
    O acidente foi numa estrada de terra próxima de casa, e eu estava sozinho. Se fosse numa viagem eu estaria em apuros!
    Tua moto é maravilhosa, mas mais pesada que a minha. Tenha sempre cuidado com a vontade de se arriscar por terrenos não compatíveis com seu veículo e suas habilidades. Isso não vale a pena!

    • @georgebalmung
      @georgebalmung  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Olá! Que massa que você teve a oportunidade de fazer a viagem. Não foi no sentido contrário, foi o mesmo que eu fiz; eu voltei por Mendoza. A diferença maior é que desviei do Chaco e peguei um caminho mais interessante por Termas del Río Hondo e Cafayate. Sobre o acidente, sinto muito que você tenha passado por isso. Mas o risco é inerente à atividade; o que não falta são maneiras de se machucar ou morrer andando de moto, e de certa forma eu diria que é até um pouco por isso que eu ando.

    Olá George, excelente vídeo! Fiz uma viagem parecida em Setembro 2024, sozinho com a minha Himalayan. Além da paisagem belíssima, conheci muitas pessoas que me ajudaram em vários perrengues. Com certeza voltarei para melhor explorar a região.

      que massa francisco! é bom né? com certeza eu não teria voltado pra casa sem ajuda de algumas pessoas que conheci pelo caminho. envolvendo pane seca no meio do atacama etc. mas aposto que vc já chegou em casa planejando a próxima viagem! hehehe

    Hermosa moto,hermosas fotos.
    Lo único que no me gustó fue que adelantaras un auto por la derecha en el minuto 8:02...

      @georgebalmung  13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      ¡Mi madre me dijo lo mismo! Pero fue la elección más segura para mí: el auto me estaba tirando piedras y había mucha tierra en el lado izquierdo, no podía ver si venía alguien por la izquierda, así que pensé rápido y pasé por la derecha.

    Very nice video. One of the best that I have seen lately. Thanks
    I like the Bonneville T120 a lot, but I wonder what you do if you get a flat with tubes in a remote place. Did you carry spare tube and tools to fix it?

    • @georgebalmung
      @georgebalmung  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you, Otto! There are a few ways to fix it-the main one is to ride with spare tubes. In addition to that, I carried some repair sprays and tools to remove the wheel if necessary. Tubeless tires are much more convenient, but spoke wheels are stronger and cheaper to repair if you encounter a bigger issue, like a bend or something similar.

    • @georgebalmung

      some cheap ali express bag, the thing is, I mounted it in a very specific way so it holded beautifully during the entire trip. I will put a video together going through details of my rig. would you like to see it?

      @georgebalmung  16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@azlong4596 AliExpress! It's not that expensive and fits really well. I like them because they're not glossy, and my main motivation was to avoid scratches from my boots on the original ones. but I like this one, it works fine and looks good.

    • @georgebalmung
      @georgebalmung  17 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Opa! Faça mesmo pq é incrível! Mas toma muito cuidado nos trechos offroad e não inventa de encarar tempestade de areia, vc vai acabar com a pintura da sua moto

  • @lipsee100
    @lipsee100 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Hi George ,, What made you choose the T1200 instead of say maybe the 900 scrambler or T100 ? In my opinion the 1200 is a heavy old lump and not that much more powerfull,,,, I wont touch a Triumph but my mate has one....

    • @georgebalmung
      @georgebalmung  16 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Well, it has 80hp ( +15 hp almost like having an extra Royal Enfield between your legs), 6 gears, double Brembo disc brakes, and cruise control. I like to travel, so it makes sense for me. Yes, it’s bulkier, and you have to man-handle it a bit more, but I’m a big guy, so it’s fine. if I was in the market for a bike today, I probably would chose the scrambler 1200x for the tubless tires and better suspension but I love my bike, its customized for me, and in the end, its a very personal choice more than a spec sheet choice.

    • @lipsee100
      @lipsee100 16 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@georgebalmung HEhe I ride a RE Himalayan (about 30hp) and I travelled ,,this year to southern spain ,then on to Romania and around Moldova,, but I,m jealous of you in South America...YES 1200X is the Triumph to have (if you must have one !!) My Him is tuned for me ,,after I bought it I spent money upgrading to MY spec.. now after 6yrs ownership it is running like a dream (but the value has dropped to negative ) so I will keep for another 4yrs ,then buy a CF moto 450mt ... I hope to meet you one day on the road ,,and I will let you buy me a drink ,,, cheers

    • @georgebalmung
      @georgebalmung  15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@lipsee100 I wish I could live for a while in a place like Cafayate or Salta. an Himalayan would be a perfect bike for those places because its almost all narrow roads, a lot of trails and gravel and beautiful landscapes everywhere. I live in São Paulo, around me is just boring 6 lane roads, so is a long way to get into those interesting places.

I maybe buy one there...Anything to get away from the english cold wet weather...just regarding Salta ,, I watched Itchy Boots ride that region and that is the area I want to explore...
