I bought an old building with about 900 of these on the ceiling I can’t believe how much they are worth I love the look of them my building was built in 1900
If it was me I probably would have finished that off with wood crown it would look nice and you could hide you're inside corner cuts alot better you can see alot of gaps I'm sire those cuts sick to make on inside corners with metal they are hard to get clean but that just looks a bit rough
I wonder if there is a stud finder strong enough to detect the studs through an old plaster and lath wall in our home? I would love to have a ceiling like this.
One alternative to searching for joists from below, if the ceiling is accessible from above (attic), you can drill location holes from above alongside each joist.
@@samlinkin31 I didn't realize at the time of my comment that it might be misconstrued the way you took it, that said, my thoughts at the time of my comment was that many like to paint over ceilings done like this, don't know if I personally would, it is gorgeous as is, but that's for individual personnel preference, not trying to offend here, Since cieling tiles in this form are being reproduced these days I was only wandering if possibly they come already painted in various colors, my comment in no way was expecting or realized a possible response like yours, and btw there happens to be various shades of copper, check out a pile of pennies, just saying. I don't wish to be negative, but to my eyes this looks horrific. Garish, cheap, and an affront to good taste. It was interesting to watch, so many thanks.
The copper tiles like nice but the way you installed it looks like absolute garbage, you guys should do a little more research about what your doing before posting a how to video.
This is a how not to install a tin roof vidya . Go look at other tin ceiling videos they look amazing , this was cut like a teenager would do an art project you cant eyeball cut tin this way , sorry I don't want to sound like I'm hating but unless this lady wasn't charged for this service she paid to much
Ron......We have put something together, and as a decorative thing,on the outside of it, there are hole's, and a Peg, top of peg, look's like a mushroom. The top of peg, is supposed to stay on Top of hole., however, the Peg, (mushroom-top) is too Small, so the Peg goes down inside the hole, and there is No "way", to get the Peg back Out. It Ruin's the whole Look Of the piece !!! H.E.L.P.!!!
I was not into the dark colours til I seen this. I like the copper look. it looks warm.

Beautiful! Greetings from Lima, Perú
I love the old........ Why do we have to change 🥺
The old is beautiful ❤️😍
Same here
OMG That is a stunningly GORGEOUS Ceiling! I want one😍💖💖💖
Why’d you cover up the crown moulding
This turned out really amazing!
Wood crown molding is a better choice here. The crown molding made from the same material makes it look cheap. On top of that, there are too many gaps
I concur. I think the trim should match the rest of the room. Still looks good though.
thank you so much, very nice information

I have these in my rental apartment, does anyone have any good ideas/advice on how to locate the ceiling beams behind them?

No
I agree, no there is not. You're going to have a hell of a time finding the joists.

Is this available in various colors? Love your channel.....very informative

bravo!
Was popular in the Victorian era, love this design
I want to see the small details.
I'd hate it less if the crown molding wasn't also made of that same copper tin.
I have seen soldered corner joints before, but I don't know how that would be done without scorching the drywall.
Same way the Inca soldered their gold jewelry without a torch. Lemme know when you figure it out...
me using a studd finder? I'd end up with 6 holes in the ceiling. Those things never worked for me.
Wow what would a ceiling like this cost, based on the dimensions and material on this ceiling ? Just material only.
5$ a sq ft or so
Imagine the mice dancing in the Gap at night lol, otherwise I like it.
or roaches.
😂
How much would that ceiling cost to buy and have put up by a real pro. ?
I think you'll have a hard time finding a copper ceiling installer.
My fingers are cut and bleeding from just watching this. I wonder if this look is only good for high ceilings
Turns out great but if u watch when the put up boards they destroy the ceiling molding and wall
And then they cover it with the copper ceiling.
U need to show this with a stripple ceiling
It doesn't attract me. It looks better next to the brick wall
You can get pieces specifically for the corners. It gives a more finished look than this.
OUCH
Tough job really, expert install, not for the DIY I think

Copper is not cheap
@@Titanic19127 ehhhhh in large amounts..this is not a large amount of weight..

care to elaborate on what he did wrong?
Very impressive work, but I'll be honest- it looks hideous to me. Still, if that's what floats your boat, go for it.
The joints and seams look absolutely horrible.

It looks very ugly.
You fugley! 😁
OMG That is a sunningly UGLY Ceiling! I don't want one!
Too flashy. I'd go with painted ceiling tiles. Copper would look great in a bar.
