Ever since I first heard the teasers for the Miraculous Musical movie I just knew I had to translate and record for it. Thanks to the help of some amazing people I am now able to share both an English and a Dutch version of ce mur qui nous sépare with all of you!

Hey everyone! Thank you so much for listening to our cover~ I wanted to pin a comment because I’ve been receiving a lot of feedback and comments in general about my voice, and I felt like explaining to maybe help people understand what it is about my voice that might not be sitting right with them.
If you’re wondering why my voice sounds a little strained, that’s because it 100% is, haha! I’m still learning how to use my voice ever since I transitioned from female to male. My new range is still experimental and my head-voice is particularly challenging. That’s probably why it sounds so forced; it is! But my love for the song and the show was bigger than my fear of not being able to sing it perfectly, which is why I decided to sing it. I hope that explains things a little! "Well, I have done a lot of analysis throughout these months that have passed since the publication of this beautiful song, and this is my conclusion: you have to listen several times to understand it perfectly. Some might say that Marinette is falling in love with Luka and Adrien with Kagami but in reality they are falling in love with the other part, the part that had not fallen in love, but they had fallen in love with another part of the other ... Blind by the love for not realizing. I explain: Adrien is falling in love with Marinette, but he feels unfaithful to be "cheating" on Ladybug with those feelings. And their only option is to get away from Marinette, but they still play a strange staring game, constantly. Why do I say it? Because at first he says that she is behind him ... Leaving me reasons why he is referring to Marinette, since she is sitting behind him in class. And they're playing an interesting staring game
Marinette is confused by the romantic feelings that are born by Chat Noir throughout her coexistence with him as superheroes. The title of this song is metaphorical. The "wall" is the love picture, of course. And he refers to "that separates us" because if it weren't for their undiscovered identities they couldn't be touched. There another metaphor, what I mean by touching is that they cannot know each other, not know the truth, not know what their hearts are so longing for, not being able to see their naked eyes, without the mask. And that leads us to break the "wall" meeting at night without their masks, letting themselves be seen. And in the part of Marinette singing maybe it means that they are in a fight against Hawkmoth and they cannot "shout" their love, their relationship, to the world because they might suspect something. And that's why they say they will wait to be able to touch each other after having knocked down the wall ... Because they couldn't take it anymore. Because their heart dictated that they had to do it, to be happy.
That whirlwind of emotions and magical twist refers to the LadyNoir dance.
They can be two when they stop being Marinette and Ladybug, and Adrien and Chat Noir. After finishing their war against the villain of the musical, they will leave their Miraculous and can be just Marinette and Adrien. Without alter-egos and being able to show the true form of the other when they are together."

-Emma - Hi Emma! Thanks for your input~ I agree that it doesn’t fully match the literal meaning of the French version. That’s because singing the literal translation would cause issues in the flow of the melody, and of course the rhymes. That is why I made some creative choices here and there to convey the message of the story I believe they’re trying to tell in a way that’s still meaningful and true to character! At least, that is what I was aiming for~
The translations were almost about the same as the original version and the sounds hit the mark!!!! I'd love it if the real english cover for when it comes out would sound like this!!!
@-Emma - I believe that the translation doesn't use the exact same vocabulary words in french, but it's better for the sake of the melody and rythm.
I don't know about you, but I'm french, and I'm okay with the freedom they took on it, because the words they used are still corresponding to the characters feelings.
Also, remember when Disney still translated their songs in European french, and canadian french, sorry Canada, love you, but this was a total mess haha.
The fact that this song got cut from the movie is Ugggg!!!! I feel like crying!
The amount of true emotional connection in this show does not belong on Disney channel. This is not comprehensible for children. This is absolutely a teen/young adult show.

Adrien has finally discovered his feelings for Marinette. But he still has feelings for ladybug. He is confused and frustrated about how can he be in love with two different people. He feels guilty towards both of them since he loves both of them. He has no idea that Marinette is ladybug so he is extremely confused about his feelings and feels guilty towards both of them

I watched other reactions of teens and adults watching miraculous and it warms my heart that the miraculous fandom is growing.
