- Just to clear up some questions: This song is from the upcoming Miraculous Movie/Musical Ladybug & Cat Noir Awakening (aka, Ladybug and Cat Noir: The Movie). The movie will be Zag's version of the origin of the universe, and according to the Wiki, Thomas Astruc was not involved.

The English Translation I used was by a now defunct account, but since they were pretty much just translating it via Google, and I edited it a bit, please be aware there are probably better/more accurate translations out there. However, any attempts to post them in the comments will be deleted to keep the comment section clean and free of spam. If anyone is interested in alternate translations, they can easily do a google search or watch other Music Videos.

Listening to this with english subtitles, it makes me think that Marinette knows Adrien is Cat Noir and she wants to be with him, but has to be patient. Adrien seems like he doesn't know her identity yet, but is starting to see Marinette in a new light, but wants Ladybug, and he's trying to decide on someone. If this is the case, that's really interesting since this song is for the movie coming out in two years. I always thought they would find out the truth at the same time, but maybe not. I don't know what they are planning on doing for season 4 and 5 or even the finale of season 3, but it'll be really exciting to see it leading up to this movie musical!!

Your interpretation of the song in this video reinforces my theory that we may get a reveal where Mari will know Adrien is Chat but won't be able to say anything until he can know her identity later. In that scenario, she wouldn't say anything while she conciliates the idea of Adrien and Chat being one and the same - keeping her identity a secret still. I figured otherwise the song would have the hint of Mari also falling for Chat as Adrien's bit shows he has feelings for Mari which conflict with his love for Ladybug. This video was so well done for having such a short time since the song came out!
Somehow, I think the lyrics make it sound like she has already reconciled the fact that he's Adrien and Chat... which is why she's telling herself to be patient, and wait before shouting their love from the roofs. (I completely dissected the lyrics on Tumblr, so you can read them there if curious: i-turned-the-emperor-to-dust.tumblr.com/post/187747327008/moviemusical-theory-i-have-a-theory-it-may-be) So I think there are numerous other reasons for her to possibly be keeping quiet: One, because she still has a duty as Ladybug which won't allow her to reveal her identity, even though she desperately wants to. Two, because she confessed to him as Marinette before learning he was Chat Noir and got turned down, and she's not the type to confess multiple times and force her feelings on someone. Three, because Fu made her the new guardian of the Miraculous box which is how she came to know Adrien is Chat in the first place; so another case of duty trumping her personal feelings. And lastly, and more importantly, because she wants him to love her as Marinette AND Ladybug, so she's waiting for him to sort his feelings out on his own. It'll be interesting to see how close we are, or if we're all wayyyyy off the mark. And thanks for the compliment!! I'm glad you liked this video. So this song is supposed to be from the upcoming musical/ animated movie right? which is supposed to be the closure for season 5. I haven't managed to figure out from it whether the reveal already happened...I'm guessing it didn't...but Adrien sounds confused in this, like he's in love with Ladybug but starting to also have feelings for Marinette (???) but it's like weird to him or something...
haha, you make me want to dissect this song. ;) It’s too early to know just yet, since it could simply be a flashback song, meant to introduce the crux of the love-square… but if it DOES take place at the end of Season 5 like rumors say, it’s totally possible judging by the lyrics in this song, that at this point, Marinette *may* know that Adrien is Chat. I’m referring to the lyrics around 2:21, when she talks of “this not being the right moment” and how someday “with me, you’ll become who you are”. When you think about it, that’s actually a very deep thought coming from Marinette, who tends to put Adrien on this pedestal, and sees him as almost perfect. But here, she’s talking of his duality, and how he can’t be himself - which, if she knows he’s Chat, would mean she’s aware that there are two sides of himself that he keeps separate but that once he learns to love Marinette just as much as LB, then the two halves can finally be joined, and they can “shout their love from the rooftops” - that’s why they have to be patient, because he’s not there yet. But what Marinette doesn’t realize, is that Adrien has already found himself falling for Marinette, despite the fact that his heart has already been taken by Ladybug (I’m guessing he probably rejected her confession in order to be true to his Lady - which is why she’s forcing herself “to be patient”; she wants him to love both halves of her too). Just a guess, but the lyrics are pretty telling (if they’re correct, lol). So not all hope is lost! We may at least get a partial-reveal, if nothing else!!
It’s my theory that the movie will have the reveal in it because in this song it sounds like Adrien is falling for Mari but doesn’t know it’s LB but I’m pretty sure it was confirmed that the reveal would happen by season 5 so that could mean that the movie has it in it!
@@ajewell82 As long as we're speculating, I might guess that she's actually referring to Adrien going a bit dark and having to recover from that. (SPOILERS AHEAD) In the recent episode, "Ladybug", we get to see the protective side of Adrien that takes after his father. Considering Emile's importance to the plot, Adrien might turn evil to try to save his family (or even Ladybug/Marionette), which he loves. But, that irresponsibility put him at odds with Marionette/Ladybug, despite his good intentions. Furthermore, considering Bunnix's reaction to Chat Noir's question about Lady-Noir's romance, it may take them a long time to work past their decisions. But, a lot can change in two seasons, so we'll see what actually happens.
@@Klffsj I don't know. I saw Ladybug and all the new episodes, but personally, I think Adrien's too nice to go bad for long, even though it would be great plot-wise if he did. Plus, if he was "dark" during this song, I feel like he'd have more to sing about than being torn between Marinette and Ladybug. He'd be singing about responsibility, and regret, and loneliness, his mom, family, secrets, something... but all of that seems to be captured in Marinette's lyrics with her need to wait, be patient, and how she "dare(s) not tell him anything". Some of that darkness would have inevitably bled thru in his lyrics if it was present, but I don't hear it at all. I'm not saying it doesn't happen... I just don't hear any trace of it in this song. But what do I know? It's all speculation at this point! ^_^

It would make sense if it's the final season, but I'm afraid to get my hopes up since I have a feeling they'll announce more seasons in the future, and if that's what they have planned, they wouldn't play all their cards at once, especially if Marinette realizes he's Chat in Season 5 as well (though I hope it happens sooner). But yes, I'll keep my fingers crossed!! ^_^

They are, but there is the point to be made that it’s not like they actually fell out of love with each other. Gabriel forced a separation to try for Marinette, and when that failed, messed enough with Adrien’s mind to get him instead.

This honestly made me realize something. It's hard for Adrien to see Mari as anything more than a friend because she was his first REAL friend besides Nino. I know it's known but Adrien has literally lived a sheltered life. When he felt like he couldn't honestly fit in the class yet, Mari became his first friend even if she disliked him at first. Some may say, "then why did he choose Kagami in Miracle Queen instead of Mari?" He chose Kagami because although he loves/loved Ladybug for so long, Kagami is someone he can relate to in terms of family circumstances. She is someone who knows how he feels, and he knows how she feels. He chose her because they can talk about a lot, discuss a lot, and help each other, not to mention she's from a respectable family that his father approves of. Adrienette is indeed endgame but that doesn't mean these relationships won't help Adrien and Mari respectively even though they aren't together. This can help Mari become less unhealthily obsessed with Adrien, and focus on the things she loves. Her fashion line, and designing is a big thing.
Bottom line, I just wanted to say that it's difficult for Adrien because she's his first real friend, besides nino, and chloe (who was forced on him). Sorry for my rant and have a grest day.

I'd also like to bring up he's denying his feelings for her because of his feelings for Ladybug - who he knows through Cat Noir, which is just an unhealthy coping mechanism.
He's so insistent on her being just a friend because although his love for Ladybug is slowly fading, he refuses to acknowledge it. He sees it as being part of Cat Noir and can't imagine not loving her.
I completely agree, also I think that it will also help Mari focus on growing and becoming less awkward and obsessed with Adrien (as you said and as we saw in New York heroz) she is the new guardian of the miraculous after all, she's gaining more responsibility. Can't wait to see what future seasons have in store!! 💕

I love this song, but to me it's quite clear with the lines of the song what they might be singing.
Throughout the whole thing, Marinette sounds more sure of everything and more calm than Adrien, evening sounding more patient. Then her lines which sound odd at times. "I dare not tell him anything" "One day you will find the happiness of being two, you and me." "I want to go on the roof top and shout our love, but I know I should not." "We have to be patient." And then the next most obvious lines to me: "I know one day we will fly because, my love, one day you will see that with me, you will become who you are."
These lines sound way too deep to be Mari just singing about Adrien. She's signing like she knows what is happening, that she knows the struggle he is going with as Chat Noir. Mari, during this, knows Chat is Adrien but she won't say anything about it. Mari is very respectful about keeping to the code about secret identities, so she must have found out about Chat's by mistake. Still, Mari wants Adrien to tear down the walls himself and reach her on his own, and she doesn't care how long it will take. He will find out when the time is right for both of them.
She wants Adrien to see past the mask and see that Ladybug is her, but right now he can't. He sees the two as different people and both he feels deeply for. Though from his own lyrics, it sounds like he is falling for Marientte more. Hence why he sings "I don't want to fall in love." Cause he knows that he is falling for Marientte and that mean he might lose Ladybug in the process.
At least that's I hear and see. If this musical is between seasons four and five than season five might be Adrien falling for Marientte and finding out her secret Identity. Hell maybe even dating her but still torn between her and Ladybug. While Marinette might find out the truth about Chat in season four or the end of season three. Sounds far stretch but one fan can dream right?

Of course this is just what I personally see. ☺️💕

So, in the beginning, Chat is talking about Mari. And when Lou is wearing the other shirt, she's LB, and when Lenni is wearing the grey shirt, he's Adrien. When Lou is wearing the dress, I think (this is only a guess) it's a reference to the post of the ball dress on Maris's insta. Get it?? BTW, I loved the MV as well! I love this hypotheses!

Anabel Munoz there’s two more seasons before the movie/musical takes place, so a lot can happen between then and now - they’re just trying to stir up drama. And don’t give up hope - we’re still waiting on the finale, so nothings for certain yet!! And even if the other pairings do happen, they won’t be longterm - Adrien and Marinette are endgame, and still clearly have feelings for each other, so those alt pairings are essentially doomed.

At first, I really hoped for marinette to be revealed first, not knowing that adrien knows, but it wouldn’t make as much sense since he already likes Marinette, so he would definitely accept the fact that she’s ladybug more easily. But to have marinette figure out Adriens identity first, adds more tension and plot, because she views Adrien and chat noir two totally different people, and knowing that adrien only likes her ladybug persona...the lyrics align perfectly if it’s the case, wanting for him to see her and love her for who she is as Marinette (0:48). ooooof can’t wait to see what happens! I would rather have two separate identity reveals instead of both revealing at the same time, more drama! And is this musical movie happening right after season 5? There's not much that could deter Chat from pursuing her as Marinette in the other scenario, and once he turns on the charm, it's game-over lol. That, and LB is much more serious and duty-oriented when it comes to their responsibilities as superheroes, so I can't imagine her coming clean just to win his heart. Like you said, she'll want him to love Marinette just as much as he loves Ladybug. So I actually won't be surprised if she confesses at some point and is turned down... that would help explain why she's waiting and not pushing the matter in this song. I'm actually okay with a partial reveal too, because it allows them to stretch out the drama longer, and I admit, I happen to love a bit of angst. ;)
From what I understand, the musical movie is at the end of Season 5, and will recap events (probably in song) while advancing the plot as well. I can't imagine it's the last thing we'll see though, so I'm guessing there will probably be a few more seasons announced down the line. I can't imagine them wrapping up everything in this movie when they have so many more ideas planned... this seemed like a special treat, not an "ending", per se. But who knows, they may surprise us. If it does turn out there won't be any more seasons, they'd probably just make another movie to wrap things up seperately - it's not like Zag can't afford it lol.

Oh and there was this spoiler (confirmed from a zag jr reporter) that either lukanette or adrienette will sail in season 4... I was thinking lukanette because I feel like by the end of this season, as seen in the synopsis, Marinette will give up her love, so possibly moving on with Luka...And since this song is after season 5, it kinda confirms Lukanette for season 4 (for a while though), and season 5 could potentially, slowly creeping towards adrienette (since adrien starts to see Marinette in a new light & Mari still harbors feelings for adrien/chat.) not too sure though...
Pandary Me too!! I wish Season 5 was already airing lol. Those spoilers make sense... though considering this is a kids show, I’m kind of surprised they’d go there. That means they’ll have to write a break up, and in the process, anger a lot of die-hard fans (the younger ones, mostly, who won’t be able to handle their OTP not being together, even if it’s only temporary). Of course, these spoilers can be misleading. For all we know, they could “go sailing” in the literal sense, and it would still technically be true. Astuc is always teasing spoilers that way.... like how he said Adrienette would date, and then we got Gorizilla LOL.
I love how this shows how Marinette/Ladybug and Adrien/Cat Noir's relationship has built through the seasons.

Adrien and kagami broke up in the episode of last week (it´s called 'lies') Kagami gets akumatised
