Great video, I just sent half a day trying to hook up one on my B7 Sedan. Thanks for explaining how to remove the trunk handle, I literally gave up on it and thought of Jimmy rigging it to the boot. I will give it another go to try to get it all nice and tidy.
I just ordered a similar backup camera and this identical radio for my daughters 05 Audi cabriolet after several car audio places quoted me $1000+. I think I need a dumbed down version or to possibly hire someone just for the install? It seems like this requires splicing wires and just seems intimidating for someone who has no clue about cars or electronics
To be clear, the red auxiliary wire can be used rather than tapping into the rear taillight? Also where did you get that metal mounting bracket? My stereo came with a cheap plastic one.
The camera mounting bracket came with the camera. Some cameras you can switch the bracket to a metal one, depending on the brand of camera. Red wire powers the camera, and our smart harness provides the reverse trigger wire if that is what you are asking. If you don't use the smart harness like we did, you may have to power the camera and / or get the trigger wire from the reverse light. If you do what we did, using the same parts, you can do what we did.
Beautiful video. Do you think I can do the same with a 2005.5 A4 TDI 2.0? is a sedan. Also do you know a backup radio like that one if the one you posted in the description is not available?
My BOYO camera only has one RCA plug with an accessory lead already connected to a reverse trigger wire. Any suggestions on how to wire this s module in? Could I just insert it along the “route” of the power and ground as it travels to the back of the car?
No it wont, no smart harness is needed for your specific year. Instead you need the Metra 70-1787 (amplified) harness adapter, or the Metra 70-1784 (non-amplified) version. Send us a message on facebook and we can help more if needed.
Parts used linked in the description of the video!

How did you remove the aftermarket radio bezel ? There seem to be no release holes ? Thanks
Very clear on your process. My reverse camera has stopped working and I have no idea why. Trying to troubleshoot it 😅
Good luck!

I have an 02' B6 as well. Thanks for creating this video.
My camera has LEDs that stay on all the time .even when not in reverse.
If you wire the camera on accessory, then you need a different camera without LEDs.
