Becket Cook was born and raised in Dallas, Texas. He attended Jesuit College Preparatory
School of Dallas. After graduating from Austin College in Texas, Becket moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of writing and acting, finding success in both. He eventually went on to become a production designer working with the top photographers and directors in the world on fashion shoots for magazines such as Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, and for ad campaigns such as Gap, L'Oréal Paris, and Nike.
Finding a new sense of freedom in L.A., Becket also fully engaged in his new life as a gay man. He had a series of many relationships with men throughout the next fifteen years.
In September of 2009, Becket met a stranger at a coffee shop in Silver Lake who invited him to his church in Hollywood called Reality L.A. Becket reluctantly agreed to attend the service. After hearing the sermon that Sunday, Becket was utterly transformed by the gospel and gave his life to Christ. He also knew on that day when God revealed Himself to him that homosexuality was a sin and that he could no longer live that life. Becket was more than happy to count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus his Lord.
Becket spends much of his time in ministry speaking at churches, universities, and conferences helping believers (and non-believers) understand this issue biblically, theologically, culturally, and personally. Balancing grace and truth when teaching on this subject is of primary importance. His goal is to challenge the current cultural narrative about sexuality in general and homosexuality in particular by demonstrating through his personal testimony and biblical truths that, yes, homosexuality is still a sin, and that following Christ is infinitely more satisfying and joyous.
He has lived all over the world in major cities such as Rome, Vienna, and Tokyo.
Becket graduated from Talbot School of Theology at Biola University in 2017 with a Master of Arts in Theology.

My goodness I thoroughly enjoyed this conversation. This woman is a gem. When she explained the perspective of Jesus elevating women as he allowed the children to come to him. That touched me so deeply. It is such a great gift to be bearers of life. That one sex is not greater than the other, we are so perfectly made so that we create life together. ❤ I cannot ever understand the level of darkness within a woman's heart to murder her child in her own womb. 😢 And I read that about 43 percent of abortions are repeat offenders.

More education needs to occur regarding human development. I have dear Christian friends who have had abortions out of desperation, not thinking it through (it’s a quick sell at Planned P), not turning to others for help, wanting to protect their families from “shame”, basically, a huge lack of wisdom. Many of these precious friends have struggled with depression for years, (even decades). To be sure, there is a darkness of heart and the enemy has gained ground when a Christian woman has veered far enough from God, Truth, and His Love for her, that she can rationalize doing what she knows is wrong. Please show only compassion to these broken women. We are all broken and none of us can “cast the first stone”. Clearly, I’m speaking from the perspective of a Biblical Christian worldview. Even if the woman with an “unplanned” pregnancy isn’t a Christian, with the way science has been able to show human development from the zygote forward, there should be little room for rationalizing what an abortion primarily does. The secondary effects, almost as tragic as the act of abortion, stay with the woman for a lifetime. Pray for people to know the Way, Truth, and Life and pray for them to find abundant life with Him.

@TallyG I agree with you, too. I think they know it’s wrong, but suppress and rationalize, then suffer with the knowledge of what they’ve done for the rest of their lives. They can still be forgiven, restored, redeemed, blessed, etc., but they never forget and remembrance is painful. I don’t know what schools teach regarding human development, but I’d sure like to see them focus more on that and less on so much else. If they could show the beautiful films of where life begins, after the kids giggled a little, how could they not be awed by it? I love that most pregnancy resource centers offer and encourage ultrasounds. Again, I agree that most women who get abortions know it’s wrong, certainly if they are Biblical Christians they know. It’s all so heartbreaking. I’m thankful for Becket and others like him who have a platform and use it for the betterment of all.

As a 30 year labor and mom/baby nurse I feel like I’m on the front lines every day! I try to combat lies and support mothers, fathers and encourage them to nurture their babies My prayers, desire and My hope is to reduce child abuse and neglect.

Some know my story of marrying a former homosexual. I felt a little insecure at first and I'm sure he did too. But we honored God in the use of our bodies and He gave us 4 wonderful children and 8 grand kids. I'm sure it was a process for him to shift focus from homosexual to straight. But I think he determined to treat himself as God created him and the feelings followed. Now that is all in the past and God has been faithful and blessed abundantly.

I love Nancy Pearcey. her book is amazing. Thank you Beckett, for always interviewing such interesting and powerful voices for Jesus. Your show has been such a positive force in my life. I had same sex attraction for most of my life, even as a Christian and it took years for me to understand why. I hid in shame for so long knowing that as a Christian it was wrong and having nowhere to turn. And the one time I did try to trust a good friend that was also a Christian, her response to me was , "oh my gosh, are you attracted to me?" and she ended our friendship. I actually only talked to her to ask for prayer and I thought we were close enough I could trust her. She never talked to me again, and would look at me with disdain and disgust when she saw me. Back then it hurt me deeply. Now as a more mature Christian, and being older, it doesn't hurt me anymore but this is why so many people struggle silently - that kind of reaction. Your channel has brought humaneness to the lgbtq + community, and shows that they're just people that need Jesus. Unfortunately, they're often a very angry, loud, proud people, but even still people Jesus died for.

Back in the 1980s here in New 🇳🇿Zealand I campaigned for the homosexual law reform to be passed through government. The change did happen and freed gay men. I can remember being delighted. Funny to say this but now I wish I hadn't done that. I still have same sex attraction but I don't struggle with that. I look at beauty in men just as I look at beauty in women. I don't want to have sex with them. I am now locked into my faith and I will never return to those days where I lived as a gay man.

Which left me with scarring on my face. I had a alcohol/drug addiction issue for years. I'm now sober and clean thanks to the good lord. Bless you from Carl.

I just bought three of her books and was so excited about this interview! I bought Love Thy Body but I'm currently reading Finding Truth. It is helping me understand how to see the fallacies of other world views. This is so helpful because I am married to an atheist.
I'm over here just about to cry... These poor babies. They are purposely setting these kids on a collision course with mental illness and suicide. I am a ex. FTM Transgender and lifelong lesbian until I truly met the Jesus in the bible..
And let me tell you, if I had this spoon fed to me at that age, not only by culture and then media but most dangerously by the teachers I trusted. ( just think back on your childhood and how much you trusted every word your teacher spoke when you were in elementary school!??!! 😢💔😭 ) This is evil, sick and tragic, and I believe completely demonic.. Since Molech (the false demon god, of child sacrifice) lost potentially millions of child abortion sacrifices- he's changing strategy and is pushing for this not just mortal sacrifice but A ETERNAL sacrifice of children, AND adults which is MUCH MUCH WORSE. Because at least when a baby would be aborted from the woumb, we all could take comfort in the fact that they were in Heaven.. Loved the dialogue about “putting foreign chemicals in your body,” when talking about birth control. Many celebs will argue against using fossil fuels but will put all kinds of foreign substances in their bodies such as illegal or psychiatric drugs without a serious thought. Also the dialogue about the “violence of abortion.” Well said! Celebs will also argue for gun confiscation but then support abortion up to & after birth of a child. Such hypocritical thinking!
God used her book to push me over the line from wrestling with an incongruence with my birth sex on and off for over 15 years.
I didn't agree fully with the framing of all the arguments in every chapter, but the 2 story/value split and social contract theory were principles I think everyone should learn as it pertains to modern western social issues.

After hearing your guest on another channel, it just opened my eyes to the application of that verse within our own bodies. Only when we are in unity within our mind, body, and soul (the soul must be saved to have all three in unison), we can be one as He is one.

I was saved out of atheism and bisexuality in 2020. Since I've come to a knowledge of the Truth, I have been shocked at how my old friends can deny absolute truth... it has absolutely confounded me. Her explanation in the beginning of the "fact value split" was so helpful. I've been asking for months, "how can people not believe in absolute truth???" and I have finally gotten my answer.
My husband, who was saved in 2019, is known for saying "The truth is a Person. It's Jesus!!"

Love when she described the incarnation of Jesus as how God sees the importance of the body and we are to both love and respect it! I see how many of my horrible decisions were based on my hatred of my body and rejection of the biological desire to have a family.

Becket Cook , just loving your content and you're story which I discovered very recently. You are an inspiration. I am very intruiged to know how you , personally, feel about women now and if you could envisage yourself ever marrying. I live in a small town with a very high percentage of gay residents. Whilst wanting to be compassionate I have always thought it an unhealthy lifestyle. My theory that it is often the result of child abuse is confirmed again and again. Very sorry to hear that you suffered this, hope you can move beyond it.

I believe Francis Schaffer & C Everett Koop wrote a book called “What ever happened to the human race”. This was a book/film that my youth group leader introduced to our group in the late 60’s early 70’s. Sadly today we have little opportunity for our youth groups to hear objective truth. Such an amazing conversation! It was a pleasure to listen and to learn new things. It touched my heart hearing that fathers too get oxytocin levels grow even during pregnancy! It’s amazing!
While the woke culture wants to eliminate any value and connections of biological bodies and emotions we see it as it’s more than just biology, yet we acknowledge biological factors too.
Motherhood, fatherhood, parenting is so much more than just biology, it’s so much deeper. It’s life, it’s relationship. We are not mere walking meat sacks.
We are a complex of our body, soul and spirit. You cannot dissect one thing without touching another. It’s so interconnected. It’s one. Yet it’s three parts of one. It’s says that we’re made in the image of God. And He is One, yet He is Triune God. And He loves and values us so much cause we bear His image! And that’s how devil tries to distort that image in any way.
Also I liked the thought that Jesus lifted up women through caring for children. Ha always makes people feel seen especially women and children (cause in that culture of that time children considered extremely difficult of lower importance as well as women).

"Lord, I pray for Becket to have a particularly blessed month of July, a noticably blessed July. Jesus, I ask for Becket to receive good gifts from heaven. Let Becket be refreshed in You, Lord, we all become weary and so often we don't recognize the extent of our weariness if we acknowledge it at all. I pray that July brings new and/or deeper truth from Your Word. I pray for increased wisdom, something I haven't asked You for in too long, Lord. Expand, (including myself, because there is so much for all of us to do), our knowledge of what we can confidently ask You for, things to help us reach others for You, (because we just need to be vessels and too often offer a shard - hey, that's a new, kinda funny, thought - of ourselves instead of what You provide when we open our mouths and the Holy Spirit speaks), and things we can ask You for in the behalf of others in our lives. I pray that the spiritual enemies coming against Becket become confused and discordant. In the name of Jesus, amen."
Becket may I make a suggestion? I think it would be very powerful if you invited milo yiannopolous to your show. I know you did before and it died out but don't stop trying!! I think it would be a powerful video or even a powerful podcast to hear his conversion story as an ex homosexual. I love you Becket! Don't stop doing what you're doing. God bless you abundantly.

Wow Becket! @31:18 I was just talking to someone about that. Women who wait until late age to want to get married. My husband and I got married older (both of us never married before) I was 46 and he was 52. Married for 6 wonderful blessed years now. I wanted to be married and have children in my 20s but my husband found me in my 40s ❤️🤣. Some people actually thought I was waiting because I wanted a career instead, but not true I've always wanted to be married.
What I find interesting is that the people I follow who are delving into the deepest realms of spirituality (Christianity), the more they find power and respect for the human body, there is spiritual importance to it. As with science, the most advanced realms of physics and biology (human and nature) align with what is being uncovered in the spiritual.

I can only think of one thing to say about those philosophers and people who can't tell the difference between a boy and a girl - Romans 1:22 "Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,"
