I've been travelling onboard Moby Drea and Moby Otta every year for 15 years now. It is amazing to see how they negotiate rough seas and strong winds, while allowing superb comfort and very high cruising speeds. True nordic design and construction. Love them, they will always remain in my sweetest memories.

I've been a fan of these two ships since the early 80s. Interesting video. Some facts I didn't know and some great footage. Thanks.

These ships still look fantastic even now. A great era for ship design where they looked more elegant than most other eras.
Another wonderful podcast. Thank you so much, thoroughly enjoyable.
Would love to see a podcast about the first Olau twins if ever you are to look at doing one some day.

It's a testament to the skill and creativity of the designers and builders who crafted these vessels with such attention to detail.

Great video about one of my favourite ferries from the 70's. I got to go on a cruise with one of the sisters in the 90's when DFDS ran cruises from Gothenburg to Amsterdam. Since the cruise took place in the fall there were lot of sea sickness on board at that cruise but still we had a very good time.

Thanks for sharing your experience! It's wonderful to hear that you got to enjoy a cruise on one of the sister ferries. Sea sickness can be a challenge, but it's great that it didn't dampen your spirits and you still had a fantastic time. Memories like these make these classic ferries truly special!

I worked on both of these ships between 1987 and 1900 and about to publish some unseen video soon. within the time I saw the football hooligans, and was onboard the Tor Britannia when we went to the aid of our sister ship the Tor Scandinavia. Fantastic boats with a high service speed and some great times!

@@JustFerriesOfficial Thank you, I will ensure you are copied in - yes things were pretty different then - SOLAS 90 had not yet happened and so, the sponsons had not been added to either vessel and it was a great time. Our usual schedule was Monday - Harwich to Esbjerg, Tuesday, Esbjerg to Harwich, Wednesday Harwich to Gothenburg (Goteborg) - then, in the summer, Thursday, Gothenburg to Amsterdam - with a stop over, Saturday Amsterdam to Gothenburg, then Sunday, Gothenburg Harwich. The sister ship did two Har-Got runs and on Har-Esbjerg for a while..

Ein überaus interessantes Video! Die "TOR SCANDINAVIA" konnte ich mal im Winter um 1990 bei Blohm + Voss ablichten.
