Today, i am taking things back to the very beginning, building one of @TacoTuesdayRust 's original base builds from almost 10 Years ago, and putting it to the test, on a 1000 player vanilla official server...

Reactive armor deployable. Costs boom to make, reflects boom damage. Place on walls, floors, whatever. Expensive Mats and upkeep. Now your strategy is back lol.
Couldn't you just use rockets from far enough away to not get hit, seems like it would be really niche, cool idea tho for sure
@ethandavies9039 I just mean it reduces the amount of damage the rocket does to the structure. But for sure it needs to blow out as well if someone's close.
@MaximusSavage6969 it could work but I believe his point was bases are TOO hard to raid so they just become the same everytime to fit the "meta" So buffing walls and keeping garage doors the same would probably make the situation worse
@ethandavies9039 yeah I guess I'm just thinking something to change the boom math.
I think better solution would be buffing walls than nerfing garage doors, because with stronger baseline bases raids take longer, giving you more time to fight back or for counters to arrive.

clans are what killed the game: how can any solo or group compete against a group of 10+? there is LITERALLY ONE solo capable of dealing with him and that dude has honey badger determination.

I love WJ but sometimes I wonder if being a professional rust player doesn't skew his perspective some. Raiding is actually extremely easy right now, you don't get the brunt of it because it's an arms race and not many people play 12 hours a day. For those of us that only have 2-4 hours a day to play every day after work, it's actually incredibly difficult to not get offlined every night due to the time discrepancy.
Remember back to when there was no difference in explosive cost between stone and sheet metal? One thing I miss about the old rust is the old caves
Love when you make creative builds. I always wonder about the potential, like lego building, and what's possible in Rust. I think if there was a singleplayer option there would be a flood of people itching to get their hands on this game... some of us just wanna be builder Bobs :)

It is nice to have a video where you are not swearing constantly. You seem much more intelligent than most due to this. Not the least is that my kids have someone to watch that is not a complete degenerate crying at every defeat or making excuses but instead persevering through difficult moments and aspiring to build something that is worthy of respect.

I remember when rust came out back before they changed it so dramatically, there really was no meta of the time since it was so new though the most popular design tended to be tower with larger room at top. I also seen a loot of buildings with polls built all around them as well, never understood that purpose I only played for a few weeks as a solo. I mostly just ran around and tried to find loot from others raids while I learned the game mechanics.
Yooo Willjum salvage shelves still OP if you use them to stack electric furnaces on top of each other, fits 6 on one shelf and looks dope

Great video, btw you should try building a giant clan base and have a system that moves all stuff from one side of base to the other side. So if ur getting raided from S side u can transfer to N side and whatnot

it's so crazy to me... when i think of rust nostalgia i think of the first alpha tests like 2013. I have never even touched it after they rewrote the entire thing. But i never think of certain bases n shit just because the game technically wasn't even coded back then xD

I still remember the first time I played Rust, our base was a complete mess but the raiders completely failed because I managed to get away with our boom and later foundationwiped the Raiders, it was a fun time to see the raiders again over several wipes and each time they failed at our chaos bases 🤣🤣🤣

An evening is a great evening when willjum uploads
God now I understand the "have you heard a British person say taco" thing.
Would be nice QoL to have a spawn protection buff for 15 mins after serverwhipe. So when you log in to the server for the first time after whipe, you'll spawn with a 10-15 min spawn protection buff. If you pvp during that time, you'll lose the buff. If you die due animal or scientist, you'll lose the buff.

@Willjum I believe your work bench is breaking because it's it on the ground instead of a foundation. I wonder if they have patched the game that these work benches don't stick around. This is purely assumption base on watching this video and nothing else. Maybe something to look into. As always keep up the awesome content.
