Honestly way more crazy of a backstory than I imagined😳
Yep. Kratos really evolved. 🤗🤗 Before, he was all careless and vengefully angry alot (accidentally killing his family in the process). Now he's trying to do better with his son and hiding his past to protect Atreus. In your current game and Valhalla, you'll see old game references here and there so now you won't be confused and maybe hyped. And, if you want, on your first God of War video, I wrote a comment to summarize the 3 main god of war games if you want to 'read' my recap (or I could paste it to you). Only if you want. 😊 No need. Anyways, happy days. :)
It’s not to hard to follow alone honestly. Especially if u got that adhd spice to yuh. For me it’s the exact speed I need to retain my focus on the subject.
Imagine being 14 and playing GoW 2 as your first PS2 game. Am still a fan, 20+ years later. I feel like you now understand the love we have for Kratos
Imagine doing that but you're 6 lol
I've played it long ago
Hell yeah, i played the first one in 2005 when i was 10
@@Mightyscandare Hell yeah. W parents 🤝🏽
@@zenyattafgc good times man. We listen to our parents rules and we get the ps2.
Kids these days scream just if the parents tell them to stop 5s
Man I played the whole series. Such great games. My favorite weapon is still the weapon of Hades.
Thats a very complete review, but he speaks so fast its easy to not understand half of the things he mentioned.
Tha ts what playback speed is for. 😉
bro how is he talking too fast??😂 how does it take you to process information
To be honest this is a very bad review there are so much better reviews
Basically Kratos is a soldier with severe trauma forced to live by a curse and after years of introspection has started another family but has a son he doesn’t want to pass his mistakes on to. You really need to retain all the knowledge of his past to fully understand where he is right now in regards to character and the way he thinks and acts towards Atreus and the world around him.
I'll keep that in mind
The Kratos Dad lore is insane
REAL
As the Ghost of Sparta Kratos was a blood thirsty animal. He killed indiscriminately.
You clearly did not watch the video
Honestly I hate this is the guy people watch to get the recap, he treats it like a it's a joke and and does not give the stories and characters justice. Mythology and Fiction did a superior job.
theres a fan theory for the reason kratos cant die because since he killed Thanatos (the god of death) that now he has become death and it makes him immortal so it’s possible not only he was a god of war in Greece by title but he’s actually the god of death by his abilities to kill immortal beings and power he wields
i think i heard something along the lines of the Gods cursed Kratos in a way that he can't commit suicide. only die by another's hand. him breaking out of the underworld in each game was just sheer force of willpower and storytelling. but in the final act of GoW3 where he stabbed himself with the Blade of Olympus, he truly wanted to die for good. only for the curse to pop up and revive him shortly after
@@montywh it could also be the power of hope that keeps him alive
as someone who played the original trillogy, i always fing it interessting to watch people who have not played them, play the newones and slowly get introduced to that story.
"The guy killed the whole world just because he wanted a good night of sleep." 😂😂
22:40 Yes, the next game was God of War (2018), but it's not exactly clear how Kratos moved from Greece to the Norse world. However, we get an idea of how he might have made the journey in the God of War: Fallen God comic. You should have played 1,2,3 but now it's okay 👍🏻
Kratos is much calmer in norse era as you see how baddas and brutal he was in greece
thanks for letting me know! Yes he seems so in control of everything now
I love kratos. I was lucky enough to grow up playing these games and anticipating each sequel. I got to experience kratos development.
Your doing your your self a disservice buy not play the original trilogy. I think they are better than the new series in there own way. Don't sleep on them.
There IS a gap between GoW3 and GoW(2018).
The gap is 900 years. And basically what happens is that Kratos spends most of it trying to rid himself of the Blades of Chaos.
But no matter what he does, they always reappear with him. Until he eventually gives up, makes his way to Midgard.
And there he meets Faye, who finally helps him heal and move on.
The magic that attached the ashes of his family to his body was a curse and that is why Kratos cannot die. 😁😁
He cannot die because he’s an Olympian. All Olympians are immortal, unlike the Norse gods who are only long lived
Better than most of current movies.
Bro does not watch movies
Athena is the goddess of the wisdom of battle
It's better to watch the story told by the game itself in the video sequences than to listen to someone tell it quickly, as it's a summary and you'll probably forget half of the things. Hearing the story of GOW 1, 2 and 3 is much more interesting and exciting when you experience it yourself. You can still do it if you're really interested in its history. I assure you that you'll enjoy it much more and understand everything much better.✌
God of war 2018 is taking place 1000 years later but in Norse mythology. There are comics i think which have the story of Kratos right after the end of the last game and 2018.
In 2018 you can see the big scar in Kratos body from the stabing in the end of the last game
Bro, he has that Scar from God of War 2 and it's zues who stabbed him with the blade of olympus
Dude killed the whole world just so he get a good nights sleep. Never heard it put like that. 😂😂😂
People often recommended this video to seek out the lore of the universe but as a person with english not being the first language spoken, i find this video to be too much and too fast for my liking
Why don't people just play the OG games instead of just watching his story. It's more impaactful if you actually play the games. The character Kratos would meant so much more, it's a shame really
man...seeing this made me remember how damn cool god of war used to be. not spoiling anything but the new games are NOTHING like this. at all. and personally, i think they lost what made the series hype to begin with
I do see your point, I can't comment on the GOW aspect but I do think sometimes the originals just feel better and that no follow-up can quite capture the same feelings
You’re going to love it
You should check out the older games too! God of War:1-3 Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. You’ll like them
I won't play them in the near future but they are on my list of games, I will proooobably play them someday
Kratos the cruel striker 😊
Aries wanted to use kratos because he cant kill his own father and become king of the gods afterwards because zeus said gods cannot fight and kill each other.. but kratos was a mortal man earned his seat as God of War...
I was to young player the original 3 games played it with my dad when I was like 6 or 7 years old
As far as I know Kratos wandered around about 1k years after this... So yeah, gow 4 starts about 1k years after the destruction of Olympus.
Kratos backshots are crazy 😔
Thanks for ur beautiful reaction 😂
hahah thanks for watching!
That video you watched was 6 games worth of info and loir and it didn't even cover what happens in the mobile game god of war betrayal. The first 3 main games are the most important.
I've played every god of war game. Just play 1,2&3 you'll appreciate the new series more
The god of war 2018 story is almost a thousand yaera later from the destruction of greek pantheon and kartos is above 1500 years old in god of war 2018
I've always wondered why people think that. Is it from a comic or something?
You can slow down the speed on the video you're watching here on TH-cam to 0.75% if you find it hard to keep up with what they're saying!❤
Athena doing something in greece its been like 1000 years since kratos wiped out his entire pantheon godly faction of family and human family alike... i tgink athena still teases kratos as if he was stipl her monster to control because it was her for a while helping him and tgen she sent him aries way.. made him a god... i mean ATHENA IS GODDESS OF WISDOM... she was behind the scenes meanwhile not being the one kratos wanted to kill... because she stepped in fromt of the blade kratos meant for zeus she went into a higher existence... what if she punned kratos on the gods and the other way around... playing on their weaknesses...
The time between God of war 3 and God of war 2018 is at least 150 years.
ohh thanks for letting me know!
Yea, he talks very fast, but you really dont need to know every little detail. If you do find it very fascinating and end up wanting to know everything, there are certainty more videos that go into more depth and talk slower about all of it. But, as long as you get the overall picture of his story, then that's all you really need to know. A lot more detail will come out throughout the story in the two newest games.
But you've already done more than most other people who are newer to this series and started playing at the 2018 game. Most people don't watch any video of his backstory or the other games, so you'll already understand a significant amount more when you play the newer games and likely pick up on some of the subtle hints and call backs to the previous games and his back story as a whole.
He can die depend on which hell his on seem like the one kratos is on has an escape route to hell while on a different hell where Thor and Odin are from u can't escape it
You didnt play old gow games?!😂
Yeah people only want to play popular games for views
You should play the original saga. It's absolutely amazing and the best action fighting game series.
Blades of CHAOS IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON MAYBE EVEN MORE THAN MOJLNOR THORS HAMMOR AND THE BLADES OF OLYMPUS ALIKE
Athena the goddes of wisdom
hes wrong
"I'm not gonna play god of war 1.2.&3."
Then why bother watching his past ?
Why aren't the graphics realistic enough to play ?
Please react to God of war ascension " From Ashes" 2013 Cinematic trailer . it hits deep.
I wish you watched PlayStationGrenade video , he explains the lore with more details👍
You should've reacted to " kratos story origin " it's way better than this video and it's way more detailed
thanks for the tip!
Technically god of war 2018 is god of war 4 and god of war ragnarok is god of war 5
Athena is GOD OF WISDOM and kratos sister
she is actually also the goddess of war. she and ares embody the two sides of war. she deals with the side of strategy and tactics while ares deals with strength and brutality.
20 minutes, you can barely review one GOW game, let alone the whole saga. Even the other video that's 3 hours long is missing stuff.
Oh wow, shoulda played the video at a .75x speed. Sheesh the guy talks fast.
i play All
ugh why does everyone recommend this video, yes ofc it gives info, but it's presented in a bulleted, emotionless, rushed fashion
This is the part where all gamers understood Kratos and felt his anger, it is a scene that they did not put in the video you saw. th-cam.com/video/gDd0FtZZgr8/w-d-xo.html
You're doing yourself a disserve not playing the old God of War games. God of War 3 is a masterpiece.
But why won’t you play the GOW games? They’re great!
Just time and motivation really, I might play them someday (bc they do look fun!) but I just really wanted to play the GOW 2018
I don’t like this video cause the dude skips through a lot of stuff that’s important and says some things that aren’t true or he just misunderstood.
Kratos died so many times 😆
LITERALLY
Good review! Howver...... you, my dear, to do it a fitting justice, would be better off just playing all the games. We'll worth your time and energy. Enjoy the God of War Saga! They are top tr gaming!!!
Edit: yes, child. Play this game with most haste. You will not be disappointed. I'll follow your channel if you are interested. I'm looking forward to it. It bet it will most interesting, and I am looking forward to watching your play style.
You should really play the games
Geez this guy talks way too fast. I played these games but even I would not have been able to remember most of what he said. 😅
Its best to play the first games yourself. This video does not do the story justice. Just being very honest.
I can see that
whoever that recommend you this video suck he want you tu have the feeling of hurry, there is way better written videos about it but i guess is a ''patreon'' or something like that
The video usaw suck ngl
I honestly dont like this video...for example, starting with the primordials is so off topic imo
How?
@@sinceremason4201 dont question me
@@user-fo5gc8rf9kbut it part of the story tho
Athena is the Godess of Reason and Justice, not war 🥸
she is actually also the goddess of war. she and ares embody the two sides of war. she deals with the side of strategy and tactics while ares deals with strength and brutality.
@@mirkodorosariosilva2939 Rather than saying "Goddess of war" is wrong, I would rather say that it is incorrect, there is definitely a martial aspect attached to her but it is more about Defense, being strong in body and mind, to be able to fight to protect your land, not to mention all her other aspects. I think the term "Goddess of war" is far too generic and incomplete
@@chevalierbaleine4894 this would be true for almost all the Greek gods... for example Poseidon is remembered as the god of the sea but in fact he is also the god of the earth...
my mistake he is the god of earthquakes and not of the earth in general (if you ask me a god who manages earthquakes He is the god of the earth but the Greeks think differently)
@@mirkodorosariosilva2939 Np I understood you and yes you're right, all the Greek gods are initially more complex
The pausing is so goddamn repetitive. Just pay attention.
