You're a hero. In a few years this mod will be regarded as when fallout 4 mods got good. Like falskaar or frostfall did for skyrim, Sim Settlements did for fallout 4.
Dude, you revived fallout 4 for me, thanks you so much. I've almost killed my Xbox with how my settlements are now. Thank you so much, keep up the great work.
First things first. Great work. I just updated to the newest version and I love that you can now snap to regular floors. But, I have to tell ya, I was gritting my teeth after doing the update and reloading my save. Everything was fine. 1million Kudos!!
Your unbelievably great work made me play Fallout 4 again, after giving up on it just because of how bland and boring it felt to rebuild -by yourself- every single fricking building.. So i always only ended up building Sanctuary as it is my main hub. Much love, man!
i would love to see some defensive plots aswell, like you can plant them down at the edge of town and the more they defend the more upgrades the plot gets i.e the more turrets on the plot, or the better the turret is on the plot, if you can consider doing this that would be epic, as whenever i build a town in fallout i just put turrets on the road, as im not a good builder, i generally build a square home with turrets on the top :P its not very stylish thats why i downloaded your mod because its got its own micromanagement. which is amazing! keep up the good work! hope to see more soon
Few issues: 1) Problem: One plot that contains stout wooden shack, with the green metal door and a bookcase just across the doorway, is problematic. The door spawns a few meters in front of the building. 2) Suggestion: We need to be able to efficiently track settlers that don't have jobs. Please allow the holotape to have an option to highlight any jobless settlers. 3) Problem: Certain two story plot structures conflict with the telephone pole and do not allow for connection to other power nodes. 4) ??: I love your mod. This isn't an issue; just had to get it out there. 5) Suggestion: For the plots with wooden platforms, please allow the bottoms of the pillars to be able to snap to other things, such as other pillars, to make high-rise buildings. 6) Problem: The shelves sometimes spawn their child items a bit off center. The items therefore float, and cause boundary issues. It's hard to move through some plots. Thank you for your time!
is there a way to move plots around that have been upgraded without destroying them i want to move some farms around or a console command to upgrade them straight away once built
I love the mod but I have a small issue on Xbox. the issue is that i cant see the icons (it's an issue on my side) so I was hoping you could add a feature where the HUD bars could be moved (or swap what side the icons are on)
Supposedly there's a holotape for HUDFramework that will let you fix this (haven't confirmed, just repeating what someone else reported). I'll be adding some options for positioning and scaling the HUD piece soon.
I assume that's the 2x2 plots you're trying? They currently don't work with the IBB because they don't need it for the animation marker updates. If you're still having issues, hopefully they will be resolved with 1.1.1 when I release it. It's an ongoing struggle as Bethesda's scripts are not co-operating.
it was the old plotsbi had set up at starlight, I used the self destruct to reset everything and it broke the plots are gone but tonnes of stuff including the resource cost are still floating there
Sounds like your workshop scripts are screwy in your save. You might want to download FallrimTools from the nexus and check your save for any ActiveScripts that are stuck. To clean up the left-behind stuff, download this: www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/23209/ and you may also need Scrap Everything or Spring Cleaning for any vanilla objects that were left behind.
been in the pipboy isn´t working 100% of the time . What I do is Jump/fall and mid fall/jump open pipboy and exit. //I think falling will prevent the save on exit but Im to lazy to test.
I wish I could use hud framework but it goes off my screen so if you could find a way to adjust the barriers for Xbox that would be great and that's for the great mod! 👍😁
Supposedly the HUDFramework holotape can adjust to your screen size. Either way, I'll be adding some basic adjustment stuff (probably in next week's patch).
are you good with making npc better like making this scaveng for you I won't the option to tell my follower to scaveng the area that would be so immersive and cool
I would love to do something like that with Salvage Beacons, make it so they just scavenged the area instead of you having to collect. It's kind of a complicated thing I need more time to figure out though.
Hey was wondering if you could give me a discord invite? that would be amazing. PS. I wish i could donate but i dont have the money to do so at the moment ps-ps if i have the latest version of NMM should it update automatically?
I read the help option in the holotape and I'm confused on the commercial plots. When I try to assign a settler to it it says I don't have enough residential plots which I will continue to build houses but will settlers automatically assign to the commercial plot or do I have to assign them? Same with industrial plots. Is there a certain number of houses I will need? Thanks! ✌🏼
Commercial has a certain number requirement, they will automatically assign to commercial eventually as long as you have some settlers without jobs yet. If you'd rather not have a home requirement, you can switch commercial to a Population requirement instead in the holotape (useful if you want to mix and match a lot of not Sim Settlements beds). Industrial has no requirements and can be assigned immediately.
David Petry Right-click on each version of NMM and delete all the files, then download the latest version again. Do all this without loading your game.If after you load the game your plots are missing - exit the game while in workshop mode so it doesn't overwrite your save and check out the installation help video.
If the holotape isn't available in the console commands, then it's likely the game unchecked the mod. If you go in the game's Mods screen, and then Load Order, confirm that SimSettlements.esm is checked in. After that, here are some options for acquiring the holotape: simsettlements.com/web/wiki/index.php?title=City_Manager_2078_Holotape
can someone help me? for some reason my settlers don't do anything i tell them to do from farming to becoming a part of my supply lines or transferring them to other settlements, it all started when i settled spectacle island
Yep - I can help! First make sure you are on version 1.1.0 of the mod. Then check out this video, part of it shows you a special object you can use to fix animations for plots you created before the patch: th-cam.com/video/mMu1hlMNC5k/w-d-xo.html
There's a tool on nexus called Fallrim Tools, download that and run the resaver program (make a backup of your save file before you do this). Open your save and go to ActiveScripts, expand it and right-click on each one and select Terminate. Basically something is stuck in your scripts queue and breaking all of this stuff for you.
Is there any way to not have to download the entire mod everytime theres a patch? I dont have the best internet in the world 1.5mbps on a great day and having to download 100-900mb files everytime theyre patched up is heartbreaking. I understand if theres not just curious if there is.
Eventually, there won't be anymore updates to Industrial Revolution, but the core mod will always have to be completely re-downloaded. All of the files are packaged together in just a few archives so there's no real room to separate them. For example, every update will include script updates, and the scripts have to be stored with the models and sounds.
I've only had about 3 reports total of this happening, and haven't been able to replicate it. If anyone gets this on PC, I'd love to see your save file so I can actually debug it.
If there were a way to debug (or even a reasonable way to share save files on Xbox), I'd have you send me yours. Did you happen to scrap a plot at some point and then maybe a new house grew there anyway?
I'm hoping to do weekly patches (might not this week because I have friends in from out of town). So thought people should know they don't have to keep scrapping plots lol
kinggath That is great to hear. This is the first mod I have been worried I will lose. I know it is new to Xbox, but it already feels like it should have been part of Fallout 4 since day one. thank you for all your time and hard work.
Ridiculous statement. Without the game there wouldn't be any mod.............................................It's because of Bethesda and them allowing mods to be such a key feature we play there games so much.
true but only to a point. bethesda games are launched as barebones as they possibly can nowdays. i feel sorry for console users who are moastly left in the dark when it comes to modding which is pretty much essential for moast games today if you intend to play them for more then 5 hours.
Bethesda is actually a very gifted (though rather small) team of devs. However, in the game industry there are very strict deadlines, marketing obligations, and a host of other hurdles to jump over before the game is released. Especially when it comes to AAA studios like Bethesda, the demand often outweighs their ability to produce what I would imagine they REALLY want. That's one big reason they allow, encourage, and even equip the modding community with tools. But I totally agree. Mods like this are the reason the community exists in the first place. To bring that level of enjoyability to the games we already love. :)
Fallout New Vegas had strict deadline used same game engine as all the Bethesda games and managed to deliver a game with superior choices and superior story. Bugs were plenty but can be argued that's mainly the engine really. Problem seems to simply be Bethesda is going downhill for the quick buck.
Does it happen the second you log in, or just periodically? Like could you go in to your game to try something or does it happen instantly? If you can get in your game, can you try scrapping all your agricultural plots and see if it still crashes.
I'll give it my best shot! p.s this mod is absolutely incredible. Your enthusiasm for it is nice to hear. I can't wait to find a bit of time to create my own buildings.
You're a hero. In a few years this mod will be regarded as when fallout 4 mods got good. Like falskaar or frostfall did for skyrim, Sim Settlements did for fallout 4.
Did the guy who made the Falskaar mod ever get a job in the gaming industry? If someone didn't hire him they are a crazy fool.
Gearbox hired him.
you are awesome man. I mean the support you are pouring into this mod is truly amazing I and the rest of the community appreciate this a great deal.
With the love you guys are showing me - wouldn't dream of doing anything less!
This mod got me back to download fallout 4 again dude thank you man hope you continue to put out this insane quality
Dude, you revived fallout 4 for me, thanks you so much. I've almost killed my Xbox with how my settlements are now. Thank you so much, keep up the great work.

You and people like you is why the internet is so great
Your unbelievably great work made me play Fallout 4 again, after giving up on it just because of how bland and boring it felt to rebuild -by yourself- every single fricking building.. So i always only ended up building Sanctuary as it is my main hub.

Definitely coming!
any ETA?
Not yet. The expansions will take some time - this mod is pretty complex.
yeah all the coding and everything must be very indepth! but awesome work anyway dude! keep it up!
I never built up my settlements until this mod came out. the author got me interested in the game again
just found and installed the mod. It is definitely going to help me with a large build on spectacle island
Few issues:

Thank you for your time!
Thank you for the useful info, this is a great way to update!
I picked a good time to do a replay of Fallout 4, this mod is amazing. Any news on when the next big update might be coming?
I'll be releasing small patches about once a week. The first major update is in development, no timeframe yet.
ok so i try to get sim settlements and really any mod an it keeps saying the "operation could not be completed" how can i fix this?
Why can't it be the 30th already... I want those new buildings...
is there a way to move plots around that have been upgraded without destroying them i want to move some farms around or a console command to upgrade them straight away once built

hey me again, the immersion breaker breaker keeps saying the plots in trying to fix are unoccupied but they arent
I assume that's the 2x2 plots you're trying? They currently don't work with the IBB because they don't need it for the animation marker updates. Another Exit Save Bypass..."anywhere.. anytime"
Open your PipBoy and exit game.
And Thanks for making updating brain dead simple! :)
been in the pipboy isn´t working 100% of the time . What I do is Jump/fall and mid fall/jump open pipboy and exit.

kinggath k cool your awesome
Kinggath you are a god
Hey was wondering if you could give me a discord invite? that would be amazing.
PS. I wish i could donate but i dont have the money to do so at the moment
ps-ps if i have the latest version of NMM should it update automatically?
i did as your video instructed, but now i am getting crashes from time to time when i enter some settlements '-'
Can you upload your save somewhere and send me a link and the names of the settlements? If I can replicate it, I can fix it.
sure, i will do it as soon as i get back home! ty man =D
So I not need to do a clean save I just need to upload the new mod and delete old mod ?
Correct - don't clean save between updates or you'll lose all of your Sim Settlements progress.
I read the help option in the holotape and I'm confused on the commercial plots. When I try to assign a settler to it it says I don't have enough residential plots which I will continue to build houses but will settlers automatically assign to the commercial plot or do I have to assign them? kinggath ok thanks! 👍🏼
I think I goofed my upgrade because NMM shows *both* v 1.0.3 and 1.0.6a. I fear it's causing some bugs. What should I do?
David Petry Right-click on each version of NMM and delete all the files, then download the latest version again. Do all this without loading your game.If after you load the game your plots are missing - exit the game while in workshop mode so it doesn't overwrite your save and check out the installation help video.
Thanks again! And I made another (albeit tiny) donation to the cause.
plese help i ve tried everything (console comands ....) i can t find the holotape
If the holotape isn't available in the console commands, then it's likely the game unchecked the mod. i did that and now i can console command the tape but i m stuck with ok menu
That's usually a bug with HUDFramework. Try disabling HUDFramework until after you get past that OK loop.
ok
i tried it no luck still the ok menu problem
can someone help me? for some reason my settlers don't do anything i tell them to do from farming to becoming a part of my supply lines or transferring them to other settlements, it all started when i settled spectacle island

I have opened new settlements and for some reason i am not attracting settlers either :(
This sounds like you might have a bad bug in your save file. Have you ever used Don't Call Me Settler?
No i haven't used that one, all this started when i settled spectacle island, i used a mod to rebuild the house but i have since removed that
There's a tool on nexus called Fallrim Tools, download that and run the resaver program (make a backup of your save file before you do this). kind of what I figured but was hoping against hope I guess, thanks for the quick reply
I got the xbox 1 version of sim settlements I came back to my house and 1 of my plots diapers but the house is there and unscrapable
Can you take a picture of it (maybe with your phone?) and post it somewhere, then open a bug report on the nexus site?
War Conducter yea me two there was one house inside a house and I scape one but the other house I cant
I've only had about 3 reports total of this happening, and haven't been able to replicate it. If anyone gets this on PC, I'd love to see your save file so I can actually debug it.
kinggath that sucks that I don't got a pc=/ thanks for replying tho=p!
If there were a way to debug (or even a reasonable way to share save files on Xbox), I'd have you send me yours. Did you happen to scrap a plot at some point and then maybe a new house grew there anyway?
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
will the patches be included in the bethesda mod downloader ?
Yeah, I'll update there as well! Those are much easier to upgrade. :)
LOL, if you don't want to overwrite your Exit Save, just press Alt+F4, easiest way ever to not overwrite any save.
Does this mean an update is coming? :O
I'm hoping to do weekly patches (might not this week because I have friends in from out of town). So thought people should know they don't have to keep scrapping plots lol
I hate to be the one to ask this, but how do the updates work for Xbox?
Oh those are insanely easy! Just go to your Mods section and click the mod, it has an Update button.
kinggath That is great to hear. This is the first mod I have been worried I will lose. I know it is new to Xbox, but it already feels like it should have been part of Fallout 4 since day one. thank you for all your time and hard work.
Yak T.Ripper Yes, they said that the settlement system "just works" when they were promoting the game, but with SIM Settlement, it truly can work.
its modders like you that makes bethesdagame worth playing in the firstplace
Ridiculous statement. Without the game there wouldn't be any mod.............................................It's because of Bethesda and them allowing mods to be such a key feature we play there games so much.

sim settlements is crashing my game in xbox
Does it happen the second you log in, or just periodically? Like could you go in to your game to try something or does it happen instantly?
If you can get in your game, can you try scrapping all your agricultural plots and see if it still crashes.
kinggath time to time
Can you just narrate my life?
Only if you can convince Morgan Freeman to narrate mine.
I'll give it my best shot!
p.s this mod is absolutely incredible. Your enthusiasm for it is nice to hear.
I can't wait to find a bit of time to create my own buildings.
