Awsome run. Love the TL picking them "in lines" off one by one. I get that double take too. Keep em in your rear.

I had to smile thinking of those other dudes responding when they found out what you were riding. "You... WHAT? The TL?? I... I thought you'd go blind and die from just looking at one of those Zukes? The... the killer rear shock?!"
You looked smooth and considerate as well as you smoked them. Nice video experience, great road course. I am always wary on track day as fancy rich guys with hot new superbikes will do inexplicable and dangerous things (at least here anyway), cut you off and CRUNCH.

The organizers asked for a six-foot buffer when passing in the intermediate group, so I did my best to comply! I try to be politenessman on track days, but it does make me smile when someone laboriously makes their way through a corner then feels compelled to run it out to the last 12" or tarmac on the exit. Keith Code's advice: try to hold the tightest line you can on exit... then you know what you have left to work with if you go faster. I have a lot of polishing up to do next time out.

Sorry for the weaves and wobbles- my TL is set up quite soft for street use; trackdays are few and far between. I run a .86 fork rate and stock rear spring, so trying to go fast on a racetrack gets pretty entertaining on this squishy, 15-year old sport-tourer. On the other hand, it keeps things entertaining with all the moving around so I really feel like I'm doing something. This pace would be pretty dull on a well set-up GSXR. 8-) See you in June 2013 with STT at RA!

why shift at 8/9 k rpm?

Sometimes I shift at 9500 RPM, like if I'm really trying to make a pass. It will rev ok to 10k if it saves a shift someplace. No point in redlining it all the time! I'm on a budget, hah!
