Not directly as far as I know. The Akai controllers don’t have a USB host in them either. However, if you purchase one of the devices that I show in this video right here… Use the JT-4000 Without a DAW th-cam.com/video/gcxTjwTDJm0/w-d-xo.html and you are providing power to the USB host module, which I’m showing you in this video and to the controller… You could use it as just a keyboard with the synthesizer attached to it if you watch that video there’s a link down below to purchase the device. The key step does not have a usb / midi hosting type port. The USB on it is intended to connect it to a PC. If you want to do what you are suggesting - you’d need a usb midi host - you’d then power the host adapter (which you would plug your JT4000 into) this would power synth and add midi ports to it - you’d then power the keystep, connect it via MIDI cables… Sounds complicated but it’s not bad.. pretty cool that you can expand this device and are not just “stuck” using it with a PC though, right?
I didn't realise how small those Behringer synths are, pretty cool.
Yeah they’re real tiny - like “misplace-able” lol. My desk and table are pretty cluttered. But they sound huge!1

If I had a choice I would choose the MPC One over the Key 37 and the MPC Live2 over the One.
Will the JT-4000 connect this way with the AKAI MPK1 controller?

So if my keystep is powered, i can just connect the jt 4000 to the keystep thru usb and commect audio to a speaker.
