- Billie Eilish and Finneas chat with ET's Nischelle Turner after winning Best Original Song for 'What Was I Made For?' at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards, which aired on CBS. Billie reacts to the win and says 'it's crazy' that people find her music healing.

It's similar to Savage Garden, the blonde guy wrote and produced all the songs for the two man band but the media always focused on the lead singer and pretty much ignored him.
Also, it probably doesn't help that the music falls under the title Billie Eilish and not Billie and Bro, or something like that.

Her song what was I made for still gets me so emotional. it’s sung so beautifully like an angel and also written and produced beautifully, this song resonates with me and struck a chord with me a lot as I suffer really bad with anxiety and this song really spoke to me and has become one of my favourite songs congratulations again to Billie and finneas on the award so deserving in every way

I wanted Dua Lipa to win but I didn't mind Billie winning a Golden Globe.
Like the Grammys, they always choose a song that's conservative and safe-sounding as Lionel Richie (with a few exceptions like Eminem's "Lose Yourself").
I wouldn't describe Billie's song as safe or conservative. That melody, those harmonies, and those lyrics really shook people up. You can see that in people's reactions when she sings it live. Dua's song is a great dance bop and I like it a lot. But there is nothing particularly original about it.

The song was written by both FINNEAS and Billie. They both won, which is why they are both holding an award. Also, go back and listen to the acceptance speech. In the big moments, FINNEAS always gives Billie the spotlight. This was a casual back stage interview where they took turns speaking.

@@andreabellini6796 FINNEAS co-writes the music with Billie. I believe there were only 2 songs, that Billie performs, that he wrote solo. One was Ocean Eyes, but I cannot recall the other. It might be, when the party's over.
