@@storygroove well i'll admit until recently i hadn't taken the time to really listen to her. being 70 and growing up on 60/70's rock i found it difficult to find anything listenable sice, and i've found that with the advent of the internet and autotune there is a hell of a load of crap out there. with all the hype and publicity shoved down our throats as soon as i see abc in my feed i switch off completely. i'm not directing that at solely for the girls but i had heard a few of them and thought WTF is that, and then saw the videos and thought yeah, ok shes showing next weeks laundry, thats the sell. with billie i heard a couple of songs years back but found the vocals too whispery, too far back in the mix, and as i didn't care much for the tune itself i didn't follow up. by accident i found myself watching the channel where guests get to eat chicken wings, and the chilli dip gets hotter and hotte, and she was on it. within a minute it was a case of wow, this girl is so laid back and witty, and that voice got me thinking of a revisit. so next time there she was in my feed, and it was ocean eyes, and that was the clincher for me, i could hear her clearly and she has a voice. i've watched a few others, and although the songs are still not to my taste i stay to listen to her voice, and that video in the shopping mall is so fun. love her style, her humour and the voice.

@@storygroove well i'll admit until recently i hadn't taken the time to really listen to her. being 70 and growing up on 60/70's rock i found it difficult to find anything listenable sice, and i've found that with the advent of the internet and autotune there is a hell of a load of crap out there. with all the hype and publicity shoved down our throats as soon as i see abc in my feed i switch off completely. i'm not directing that at solely for the girls but i had heard a few of them and thought WTF is that, and then saw the videos and thought yeah, ok shes showing next weeks laundry, thats the sell. with billie i heard a couple of songs years back but found the vocals too whispery, too far back in the mix, and as i didn't care much for the tune itself i didn't follow up. by accident i found myself watching the channel where guests get to eat chicken wings, and the chilli dip gets hotter and hotte, and she was on it. within a minute it was a case of wow, this girl is so laid back and witty, and that voice got me thinking of a revisit. so next time there she was in my feed, and it was ocean eyes, and that was the clincher for me, i could hear her clearly and she has a voice. i've watched a few others, and although the songs are still not to my taste i stay to listen to her voice, and that video in the shopping mall is so fun. love her style, her humour and the voice.
