I made them!! And they were so incredible. I put half of all the measurements and made it for 6 servings , (but it filled 7 cups). I don't have an oven and my microwave sparks, so I made them on stove in a pan. Since I'm a vegetarian, I made egg substitute as flax eggs. They tasted so so good, chocolatey, sweet, moist, fluffy and so decadent. You must try if you're thinking about making them.
▢ 2 large eggs ▢ 3/4 cup sour cream (170g) ▢ 1/2 cup milk (120ml) ▢ 2 teaspoons vanilla extract (10ml) ▢ 1-3/4 cups all-purpose flour (210g) ▢ 2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (60g) ▢ 1 cup granulated sugar (200g) ▢ 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder ▢ 1 teaspoon baking soda ▢ 3/4 teaspoon salt ▢ 2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips ▢ 1/2 cup vegetable oil (120ml) Instructions Preheat oven to 425F and line a muffin tin with papers. Sift the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar into a large bowl. Whisk together and set aside. In a separate bowl combine the eggs, vanilla, vegetable oil, sour cream, and milk then whisk together. Set aside about 1/3 cup of the chocolate chips for the muffin tops. Pour the wet into the dry and fold together using a spatula, mixing until almost combined. Sprinkle in the remaining chocolate chips and mix until the batter is just combined and the chocolate chips have been distributed. Fill the muffin papers to the top and sprinkle with the reserved chocolate chips. Bake at 425F for 6 minutes then reduce to 350F and continue baking for about 14 minutes or until the centers are set, a toothpick or skewer inserted in the center will come out clean.

Tried several muffins and this is the BEST recipe I tried so far. So soft and moist and so rich in chocolate and yet so easy to make! No butter milk needed is what I like the most as butter milk is hard to find in where I live. I changed sour cream to yogurt as it is expensive in my country 🤣 Thank you so much for the great recipe!

Just made these using 1/2 cup monk fruit instead of sugar, seems about right. Used 6 large muffin tins and baked an extra 7 minutes to get a clean toothpick. All those chocolate chips make it extra luxurious to eat! Saving this recipe for sure ❤️

Tried this last night for mother's day and these are my notes! What to expect: The cake was super duper moist and even after they cooled down they were still super moist and satisfying. The sugar amount was quite low for me so next time I redo this recipe I'd add around 1/4 cup of sugar more but this was probably because I didn't add chocolate chips to the batter but just on top. Modifications to the recipe: 1. I mixed cake flour and AP flour for this recipe. There was no exact measurement for cake flour (I just used up what little I had and added AP flour to the remaining to reach the supposed amount) 2. I forgot to add chocolate chips to the first batch so they were a bit less sweet but they were very chocolate-y. I added them on top and they were still very delicious for me 3. I baked my muffins at 225 oC for 10 min first and checked to see whether they were cooked. If they were still wet inside I added around 2-3 min before letting them cool down 4. I didn't have sour cream so I used mayonnaise! They were veryyyyyy helpful to making this moist and if you don't like mayo, don't worry you wouldn't notice the taste at all 5. I used a regular muffin tray with 12 holes but I was able to make 20 muffins since I didn't fill them all the way (around 80% since I still added chips on top). This will now be my favorite chocolate muffin recipe and I hope you try it too!!
