I can't remember which one of the WC unit had a generator failure, but it was to expensive to have the core generator rebuilt so was going to be used as a parts source to keep the other running. Of course CN came along and all but a handful of WC units were gone..... Dam near instantly.

Great video, and it brings back so many good memories of the WC.
WC 2402 is now at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay WI.
great vid! Thanks for posting!
An SD24! Now that's some rare footage right there.
Is this sd24 fitted with the original 16-567D3 engine or with 645 power assemblies.
The two SD24's were the two original left. No upgrades. Probably why the FRVR picked them up. Probably cheap.
@@caseyvanboxtel2279 what about the one with kenecott Utah copper was it rebuilt or not

2500 was repainted in 1998 so its closer to 97 i think
Any particular reason there was so much Conrail power up there at this time? Or just a freak happening?
That was train 48, which ran straight through to Conrail in Chicago as their CWEL.
@@RailroadMediaArchive didnt csx also run ore trains on the WC?
