A lot of Questions. I am not leaving la Lande. I am just also going to help other people two who need my help. Stephanie and Issabell now that. In France if you are Self employed you need tree places where you can work and I love to travel and see other places. That is why I am starting this life living in a Camper and explore France. But it is always nice to return to la Lande X

You cant leave, you have not het found the tunnels and the wine celler. You may even find the two missing towers or their remains. A good handy man is not easy to find. You will always have other jobs to do now that you are no longer a workawayer but a antrepreneur. You are lucky that you d'ont nead to adwertize for other jobs. I am sure that you will be asked by many a chateau owner to come and help them out. You should be very proud of what you have accieved in such a short time.

I really feel for Emmy - worrying that things aren't how she would like yet. I am like that! But looking at it from the other side, there is really nothing to be embarrassed about. My dream is to own a chateau and I always thought I was too old but now at 66 I think I could do it. How do I convince my family to come on board? What a challenge this lady has and bringing this to the jewel it once used to be. I love your idea about the outbuilding being at a place to dance I can just envision the chandeliers in the floor and the chairs and the table and the lights just a place and people laughing and making Merry. You’re such a kind man with a beautiful soul and your willingness to work and help people bring life back to all château is such a blessing. For the bathroom cabinet with the drawer that doesn’t open smoothly, rub an old candle stub (or wax used for canning) where the wood pieces touch. Do it on the cabinet and the drawer. It will open smoothly and easily. You might put wood pieces at the back so it doesn’t fall out onto the floor. 😉

I really enjoyed seeing this chateau ! The key to the large wardrobe/cupboard (the one shown in the video first) that has the beautiful large key - I want to share that in a vlog done by the owners of "The Chronicles of Rosieres" they showed keys that were "numbered" so that you knew which cupboard or door that it went to...if you look directly at the end of the key (the part that goes into the key hole) you will see that the key "end" is a number - I believe it was a number "5" - this meant that it went to the cupboard number 5...check it out and see if I'm correct..and get the owner to check the remaining keys for the other doors and check the numbers.
It is sad to see all these beautiful buildings going into ruins. Thank you for sharing and you visions as well. It would be great Selmar restores one of them😆😆 👍

There is always something so exciting about seeing cellars/basements and attics in big old homes or chateaus. I just feel like I'm exploring in those areas. She has a lot of work ahead of her but that's the fun of taking on a chateau.

I had made a suggestion of a group of about 4 or 5 chateaux giving up a weekend each, to group work on each other’s, grouping skill sets. Just to give each a springboard of encouragement and incentive to keep going. It’s hard when there is so much to do. There’s a time in renovation when you feel like you’re in an endless maze of work, crisis managing...till you turn a corner keeping on top of the maintenance work to start creating. What a wonderful journey...when you’ve repaired the canvas...this will be a beautiful home ❤️

Me too. I have deep feelings for the imperfect. In fact, an entire area of conservation considers maintaining, rather than restoring, except where not restoring will result in further damage. Peeling paint and wallpaper have a certain textural charm to my way of thinking. I would add all the lovely things I like, especially fresh flowers and antiques. I would focus on comfort, safety and security. And the lighting there is exquisite.
This is a wonderful chateau to sink your teeth into. This couple can really use your help. Well now, that we've seen 2 chateaus you're working on, I am looking forward to the 3rd. I know you mentioned you need 3 different employers to keep your french work permit. I hope it's not too much of a drive from Lalande.

Kasteel vrouw Emma, gosh I do miss that lady on the Dutch tv…we saw her too long ago, the serie stopped when she finish the new roof…finally she got money enough, after a long struggle, and I do understood that she did get paid for the tv serie, and sorry her husband wasn’t really support her ..but finally he sold his practice, he was a dentist, and come to live with her…but respect for that lady, she did a lot by her self….

I thought that as an EU citizen you could work and live wherever you wanted in the EU. So are the self employed rules just the French rules for all self employed people?

It just makes you want to save them all. Where I live there are many lovely Victoria's homes, most have been restored and many are too far gone. It's so wonderful to see beautiful buildings restored.
The attic could be a dance hall, teach cha cha cha, rumba, bosanova, etc. Or as a painting studio, or as anything theatrical? Not apartments. Look at all the bedrooms, already in the house!

Want met een budge van €25000,- begin je weinig. Ook prinsessen hebben het vaak zwaar. Ik zie hier nu een nieuwe pup en vraag me af waar die andere hond dan is gebleven. Want dat was in 2019 ook nog maar een pup. Ik wens haar veel succes! Hopelijk krijgt ze dit jaar weer gasten.

Definitely time for Lady Emma to employ volunteers and get on Patreon or some other crowdfunding website. Also, people who need experience in the trades can build a resume doing spring/summer projects like this and really live anywhere in the world. If I were young again, I'd definitely exploit such an opportunity as my interests lie in wood restoration and preservation. My dream would be working for museums restoring and preserving wooden objects. Unfortunately, at 56, there is no way to enter that world without someone pulling for me from within, not to mention the training needed just to get started.
She has volunteers and she started crowfunding and they making a serie of here for the Dutch television. She wil get there and I am going to help also a little :)

Kasteel vrouw Emma, gosh I do miss that lady on the Dutch tv…we saw her too long ago, the serie stopped when she finish the new roof…finally she got money enough, after a long struggle, and I do understood that she did get paid for the tv serie, and sorry her husband wasn’t really support her ..but finally he sold his practice, he was a dentist, and come to live with her…but respect for that lady, she did a lot by her self….

I thought that as an EU citizen you could work and live wherever you wanted in the EU. So are the self employed rules just the French rules for all self employed people?

It just makes you want to save them all. Where I live there are many lovely Victoria's homes, most have been restored and many are too far gone. It's so wonderful to see beautiful buildings restored.
Love this chateau...needs a lot of work though. It will be nice to have someone to speak Dutch with & Diesel has a couple of mates to play with too 😊
The attic could be a dance hall, teach cha cha cha, rumba, bosanova, etc. Or as a painting studio, or as anything theatrical? Not apartments. Look at all the bedrooms, already in the house!

Heb intussen de aflevering van Ik Vertrek bekeken. Wat een lef heeft Emmy. De kamers die ze heeft aangepakt zijn mooi geworden. Misschien moet ze ook maar gaan youtuben en patreons verwerven? Want met een budge van €25000,- begin je weinig. Ook prinsessen hebben het vaak zwaar. Ik zie hier nu een nieuwe pup en vraag me af waar die andere hond dan is gebleven. Want dat was in 2019 ook nog maar een pup.

Definitely time for Lady Emma to employ volunteers and get on Patreon or some other crowdfunding website. Also, people who need experience in the trades can build a resume doing spring/summer projects like this and really live anywhere in the world. If I were young again, I'd definitely exploit such an opportunity as my interests lie in wood restoration and preservation. My dream would be working for museums restoring and preserving wooden objects. Unfortunately, at 56, there is no way to enter that world without someone pulling for me from within, not to mention the training needed just to get started.
She has volunteers and she started crowfunding and they making a serie of here for the Dutch television. She wil get there and I am going to help also a little :)
