Considering where you end up parking your caravan...no other campers, cars, trucks around to get a jump from, you need to purchase and keep in your caravan a battery jumper. They aren’t very expensive, guaranteed to start your vehicle, etc. I bought and gifted about ten of my friends and relatives one called a gooloo and we all love it. One jump and it has paid for itself. Comes with attachments to charge a phone, etc., too. I recommend charging every change of seasons to keep the charge up. Check for one or something like it on Amazon. Keep on trucking.
Selmar I think this is wonderful you would allow us to tour like this and take us on these journeys with you, I know I will never get to see any of these places most likely, in my lifetime. This may be the only chance to ever see anyplace like this. I love it so much! Diesal keeps up so well. Cannot believe how he is so good with people around him, and traffic etc. He handles it all. Not all animals can be like that. He is very smart. Am glad you got back Monday to the Chateau and all went so well in the end. Vehicles are needed, but it is frustrating when they break down. Does not make life easier at all! Believe me, I know this too. It is 'hard without them and with them'..Expensive sometimes. (sounds like marriages LOL) Jeanne D'arc (Joan Of Arc) met King Charles the 7th here, (N15 C)in May of 1429. She talked him into going to Rheims to accept the crown, she just finished the take over of Orleans, I almost forgot that King Charles the 7th, had a mistress Agnes Sorel, and gave it to her as a place of residence. He had it as his retreat. (Older wing North 15 C) King Henry the 2nd and his son, Richard the Lionheart lived here in the 12th century. The castle had to withstand assaults by the French King Philip the 2nd and wars took place, hoping to take over. it was constructed in the 9th century. The newer wing was used for King Charles the 8th and King Louis 12th. (Newer wing South 16 C) King Louis the 1th had grown up there. Much more activity and living did take place over the years and too much to explain here though. This is truly very interesting and such a fine castle, well made so it looks. I am not much into architecture, but from what I see, it seems to me it is anyway.it must be very, very unique inside! Thank you! ( I try to read up on each place you take us, as I love to learn and think perhaps others would like knowing more too? ) Hope you do not mind if I do, and share' sometimes?')Can only tell bits and pieces about it though,
France is such a treasure of history and beauty. Interesting to see in the beauty of the Winter light with very few people. It would take a lifetime to see everything France has to offer. I enjoy your videos very much! A special pat for Diesel ❤️
I try to imagine daily life. What kind of pressures did people face at the time, when various buildings represented seats of local power? Did people generally feel safe walking rural streets at night? Were nobles unapproachable? Did they speak to commoners or only those with whom they had to do business? I would love to see street reenactments of daily life.
Every walk you take around different areas of France reminds me so much of pictures from a fairy tale book or movie sets. The history is around you no matter which way you turn. It really fascinates me and I hope someday to be able to see some of it in person. Until that time though, I am glad you take us along on your treks. Sorry to hear about your camper troubles. I'm glad it was something that wasn't too hard to fix.
Hello selmar 😊 am going to sit back and watch this vlog looks like a lovely little town looks like the sun is trying to get .you are really great at vloging 💖😊💖👏👏👏👏👏👏xxxx
I enjoyed this so much! I love looking at old architecture, especially medieval. You have found so many beautiful towns for us to visit vicariously. Thank you so much for brining us along!
Selmar, this was a really nice vlog. It will be fun when everything opens back up and you can share the next part of your video's. Your editing is really improved!
THANKS FOR TAKING US ALONG! So beautiful. Wonderful photography. Lovely nite photos & the sounds at night, oh my! I adore that you take time to notice the birds. Yes, people! Lol it feels better seeing life!
Dank je wel. What a wonderful visit to Loches. I am planning to review Jeanne d'Arc (Joan of Arc) history now. I learn something each time Selmar takes a trip. What beautiful village, too. I feel as if I've walked all those steps on those streets.
Nice walk- about Selmar. :-) As lovely as France is, I find her in desperate need of repair. Northern Europe hasn't let their heritage slide down quite like France has.
*Thank you for showing Loches!* My 1st favourite château that I dreamed about buying for 3-3.5 years was around there. (Looking for further information on TH-cam is how actually I found Stephanie's channel.) There was the 'small' problem of money, however... I asked the Angels and the Universe for help with it, but no luck (not yet anyway). Both the one in Loches and my 2nd favourite in La Celle Guenand were listed as sold on the same day a few months ago! :'(
Once again, thank you, Selmar. (Yes! I caught Apple Spell Check trying to change your name again!). I'm going to have to review your videos and make a list of places to visit when in 2022 I can visit Lalande.
Thank you Selmar for guiding us through this beautiful place. It looked like there are a lot of hidden places (septic tanks.. 😉)?? Groetjes vanuit Nederland
I visited Loche a few years ago as part of my visit of the Loire region and its (many, many) castles. Loche is always rather empty, as it is so close to the Loire castles so nobody visits it. What you called the 'chateau' is actually a sort of royal palace ("logis royal") while the 'donjon' is the actual medieval defensive city castle. Your walk on the second day showed very nicely the long and high walls all around the city. I remember the church was also very interesting on the inside. The donjon is an impressive structure if you stand inside. Extremely thick walls, but the whole interior including the floors is gone. The 'logis royal' had a nice courtyard after the closed gate where you also had a stunning view (and sit and have a snack). The city is best appreciated the way you visited it: with a leisurely and long stroll in and around it.
Great video! Thank God you are OK. And made it home. This a beautiful village. Love the history. Talk more about the history. Please. I will never make it to France.. God-bless you and Diesel.
We have a house near there and follow some bloggers that are into history , nature and environment and are in really informative called Days on the Claise written by Susan and Simon I think you will discover new areas to visit ! Love your vlogs !!!
Selmar, what a wonderful place. Thanks for sharing with us. Have you ever heard of Carcassonne, one of the most beautiful medieval cities in France. If one day you go further South, it’s worth the visit.
Many blessings to you and Diesel, Selmar!! I feel as though I know you as I have followed you on Chateau Diaries for, it seems, a very long time!!! USA
Thank you for not having music over your talking. I enjoy your videos and like you talking through them more. Do you need a baby carrier for Diesel as he gets older? We all love him, and it always bothers me when people come in and do not pet him. I had a sweet dog for 7 years that looked so much like him. Thank you for your channel.
I wonder if the French assume that Selmar is also French or can they look at him and tell that he's from the north? Google says about 1/5 of French have naturally blond hair, but what about height these days? I loathe pigeons. They crap all over everything, stink and make that annoying sound and ruin historic monuments. Why do they exist? Detroit considered releasing a vulture or two to get the numbers under control, but somehow that idea was scuttled and pigeons can still be seen sauntering and flying about as if they own the space. Ugh!!!
Camper fun!! Glad you made it safely back to the Chateau for the delayed Valentine dinner. Love your cupid wings Selmar. 😊

I can't believe the enormous scale of the castle. It must have taken years to complete and held the whole town in its safety. Fantastic.
I enjoy watching your journeys and travelling in your camper, thanks for taking us along Selmar 🙏🏻💜☮️👍🏻

Thank you as always Selmar for taking us on your adventures. How I long to travel to France one day.
What a lovely walk through the town, even if gates were closed the architecture was amazing.
One of the few youtubers I don’t skip add for, lots of love from Canada !
Ads* whoops
One can easily imagine people walking around dressed in clothing of a bygone era that we could watch on the Screen.
You find such interesting places on your weekend adventures. Can't wait to see where you go next.
Wow what an adventure your drive turned out to be
Americans find it very hard to go on road trip with out running into people. I love your road trips.
What lovely town. I adore the old architecture with the homes and buildings!

Interesting Selmar😍😍
Wat ik zo geweldig vind, is dat de stadjes eenzelfde uitstraling hebben met veel karakter!! Dat is hier in België niet echt het geval..
Nice tour Selmar. I appreciate how much time you spent in presenting this. Thank you!
This was lovely Selmar. I like the commentary too.
Beautiful ❤️....but so sorry for the camper breakdown!
Thank you so much for sharing your trip! Hugs
Such a shame the chateau are closed. You make up for this by the walk abouts the area. Thanks for sharing the lovely scenery when you adventure out
Very much a historical place.
