Greetings from America Susannah! Very inspirational and informative video on giving the Hornby buildings an upgrade! May have to try this at some point!
Just brought this set and been looking at ways to improve it. Seeing your video shows what can be achieved and looks very effective and a big improvement on the original look. 😁
What a transformation Susannah - love it! It brings back memories of watching you build things up from nothing apart from some scrap materials, glue and paint on your previous layouts - so clever. 👍🏻. Cheers for now. ............ Graham
Really liked this I'm just getting back into model trains after my father passed away, as we had a layout when I was much younger. I thought some of the buildings looked a little plastic so this will be a great help. Thanks :)
Nice job Susannah you make it look so easy and easy and to understand your clear and precise instructions on how to make the building and it's a great idea on how to cut the pieces out using the self adhesive wall coverings you make the buildings look so much better than hornby could do. Another great job by you susannah i will try to do some using your instructions, all the best John from Rugby.
This is right up my street Susannah, there’s no doubt that your transformation has enhanced this from a dull plastic kit to something much more life like. The addition of sills, arched stone work and the fact it’s now an embossed brick all add to the effect. I’ll look forward to the forthcoming episodes in this series. Paul
super job Susannah,..amazing what can be done to basic buildings, and you've transformed these Hornby ones!..im sure the rest of the station is in for that special touch too!..thanks for sharing cheers, dave
I have also remodelled the little waiting room and I am thinking about replacing the covering on the Hornby Water Tower. Hornby has taken a step in the wrong direction as they used to sell the model buildings with the textured finished. It was also moulded in RED, but you only needed to paint them in the colour of your choice. As for the chimneys, the only thing I do not like about them is how tall they are. Thanks for sharing the video. Martin (Thailand)
Another Susannah masterpiece. It looks so much better. You've taken a stock building that looks like a plastic rectangle and given it a character of it's own. Even if others follow your lead the results wont be exactly the same making it a unique station building. Great. Cheers, David.
wow you took a plain jane type of building kit and really made it pop. that is something to really show of on the layout and have it front and center. very nice I had David Atkins stop off at my place on his way home. he was just thrilled that he got to meet you and have a good look at your layout.
Hi Susannah, Looks like the start of another informative series the station buildings did look a lot better than standard will be interesting to see what you do with the platforms in the next episode. Cheers Robert.
Hi Susannah I have exactly the same booking hall as yours plus platform. I just weathered mine after I applied what Hornby supplied and it looks good but yours looks superb really impressed. Regards Ron @ Willenhall Parkway, Coventry.
Hi Susannah. What a transformation. The colours you used make it fresh - I like the blue. My opinion would be reducing the chimney heights and fresh flashing - mainly because I'd be accidentally hitting the pots. Alan.
Susannah, are the canopy's for your new station, the clear plastic ones or the opaque plastic ones. If they are the opaque type, I have a couple of spare canopy's and fittings that I can donate to your project. All the best -Mike.
@@Pixie586.The ones I have look the same shape and size.I have spare plastic sides and ends plus some of the supports as well. May be of some use to your project. Also recently came across a load of class 50 photo's from the 1980's size 10" x 8". If you would like them ,you are welcome. Mike

Lovely transformation Susannah, as you said Hornby building is ok, but they do look very toy like. You have turned it into a model, nicely done too.
Thank you John for commenting and the compliment, much appreciated. Susannah
These are very underrated models. Great idea Susannah.
Thank you Paddy.
Great to see you modelling again !
Susannah, I love you. Absolutely brilliant. I think I would keep the chimneys as a feature.
