I just realized, she had 8 eyes as a spider, and gained 2 more when she became an Arachne. And for every eye she has, she obtained an "Evil Eye" skill for it. So her form here has ten pupils so she can continue to use all ten Evil Eyes. Kumoko is truly a pro-gamer

Later when she ascends to godhood her eyes have 4 pupils each (or more?) that reflect her origins and they are partly reason why she keeps her eyes closed (they do look freeky). It's a mix of social anxiety and "I can see everything around me with x-ray etc all-around me anyway so no loss" as a self excuse for that anxiety

Shiraori or White, is the Name that was given to Kumoko from D when she evolved into a Deity from arachnee after absorbing basically a magic nuke that threatned the world, when she started her new life as a God she was powerfull but weak at the same time, because she couldn't access to the power she got, she was in a way, a regular human in terms of power for a time until she learned how to use her new powers, also that was the time when Sophia take adventage of the situation to Repay Shiro for rising and protecting her when she was a baby

As a LN reader I am indeed looking at you, laughing, and feeling superior.
What I really love about the book series is the amount of rereadability here in that the further you get into the series more and more context is discovered and applicable to scenes like this. Like, and If you haven't read it stop here though I won't go into too much detail, we learn who the lady is, why the scarf doesn't get destroyed, why the lady looks like that, where Julius's friends are, why he needed to die, why Hyrince actually didn't die, and truly how much control the lady in white has over engineering the entire scenario to fit with her goal, down to basically everything Shun does. Nothing in the series is arbitrary, you just don't know its context yet.
I just love that Hyrince was a double agent for Admins from the moment he was born. It's kinda creepy in it's own way if you think about it, it also explains why he still had the phoenix feather, but no one questioned him for some reason.

The moment I saw her character sitting in the chair next to the demon lord I knew it was her. And I also had a suspicion that she was also the demon lord, because I knew about her split minds. Even without reading the LN's. This wasn't really hard to figure out if you've ever seen anime before.

The "true" kumoko is white (the one from this video)
The demon lord is the primodial for spiders in the game like system, all queens are her offsprings but kumoko one of kumoko "minds" tried to "eat" her soul, in the end it fused with the demon lord (so part of her IS kumoko, but only part)
In the light novels kumoko minds, after being not connected to the "true" kumoko started to think differently than the "true" kumoko and went rogue, kumoko killed them and then turned off the skill
In the web novel the demon lord part happens but the rogue minds does not
This is that spider that you hit him with your flip-flop,it falls down and you never saw him again.
Now it's back for revenge.

They don’t show it in the anime but that scarf is made from the silk stolen from Kumoko when the adventurers raid her nest and steal the egg.
The irony that the scarf is made from White’s silk so he’s holding his brothers scarf made from material stolen from his killer.

I highly encourage you to pick up the LN, right now there is a huge deal on Bookwalker; the anime did its best to portray the history, but in the LN you truly feel like you are playing a videogame and Kumoko is your character, there are also various plot points that are missed like when did she got the HP Autorecovery skill?, and the coolest part is the narration of one same event from two different perspectives
The worst thing they did for now was skipping through the nest of the bees at the beginning during her first encounter with Araba... That was such a great moment of how Kumoko was truly scared by Araba( her skills were even leveling up while she was trying to play dead)... Too bad they didn't adapt this in the anime.

I especially love when we switch to the humans discovering her achievements. You're going through her perspective and experience her journey, her killing several high-level monsters but then you switch to some adventurers, or some Knights and they discover her kills and you realize for them this is a horrifying discovery. They just think their dealing with this anomaly of a monster, and they don't know what to think when seeing her previous lunch.

As a anime only I’m starting to get the storyline.I see that girl in White could be her or is her, nevertheless I’m super excited for next ep.
What I found really interesting about this show, was a few episodes in, where before major hints were shown, I had a gut feeling that their might be a time difference, like the plot twist in "Your Name".
And boi was I so happy when my gut feeling turned out to be true 😁
I kinda wish the anime made it more obvious but I do appreciate how CR got the perfect frame that showed off White's pupils

I wasn't explained in the anime, but the shield dude survived because Julius gave him a rare item that protect him from lethal damage once. The reason there is no corpses left is because Kumoko used doom attack type that erase the very existence of the receiver. The scarf was made from Kumoko's thread so it remain intact.
And it also says that it wasn't a doom attack but a rot attack

@@purplenickname that was my bad, it was indeed rot attack. The thread wasn't kumoko but it made from her thread, which also inherit kumoko' rot resistance stat.
