    Everyone says that the movie is very lag and the kitchen scenes are bored when it repeatedly showing... But the director clearly showing the life of a common woman. Just imagine the intensity of boaring life they live in the kitchen. This is the reality. We all can relate this movie Because just remember our mother or grandmother.

    My brother made his wife watch this movie. According to him, he is a modern husband and he understands women's problems. Unlike other husbands he made a fish curry last week. One fish curry a week and he is a good husband! It was not a week actually. It was one time a year! And he still thinks he is an ideal husband simple because he understands their problems where as older generation did not care. How understanding of him! Unless you change, you have not watched this movie nor have you got the rights to recommend to others! Women are priceless ..especially Indian women!

    Loved the review, as always. I haven't seen the movie despite having no doubt that Nimisha and Suraaj would have done a fabulous job. And yes... this is a problem in India. I have painfully witnessed it too, at several occasions. But how do you wake someone living in denial. What is the solution to this?I can imagine women empathising with Nimisha and hoping the movie brings a change. But I can also imagine men scoffing at the portrayal, while lying to themselves. I can imagine a guy saying that he is definitely not like this, while getting up from his dining table, not even bothering to take his plate at least to the sink. I am glad such a movie was showcased, specially from a state that proclaims to be the highest in literary, yet is drowning in patriarchal tyranny since ages. However, watching it is going to be painful, and I am highly skeptical about change happening.

    As I watched the movie I had a lump in my throat, I fought to get over the feeling ! Not thinking about my wife or don’t think my daughters will face if this as lives have evolved but Coz of the feeling that I can’t go back in time and change things for my Mom or aunts !! We share chores at home now but I can remember how my mom struggled !Anupama hasn’t mentioned about the politics which the movie surfaced & I really don’t enjoy that part coz it’s was more of a brag !Sabarimala issue is a snide and is more to satisfy the politics of the director is what I felt

    • @Ursfrndlyneena
      @Ursfrndlyneena 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I'm lucky to have an understanding husband who shares household chores and wish the same as you, to turn back time, to help my mom when I was younger. But why do you think the sabrimala issue is political in nature. Shouldn't we reform religion?

    • @Ursfrndlyneena
      @Ursfrndlyneena 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Ashwini Desai Hypocrites are people who point out others mistakes to justify their own wrong doings. Sexism in Islam does not make sexism in Hinduism right. Also, fyi I loved 'halal love story' and 'trance'.

    • @Fidah
      @Fidah 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ashwini Desai who said that lol? I've been going to mosques for my prayer since I was young. I live in UAE now. But not just here, even when I was in kerala, I used to go pray at mosques. There is a women's prayer area in many mosques (not all mosques) Even when I have periods, there is no restriction for entry. We usually sit in the corner and wait for the others to finish their salah😅👍

    • @Fidah
      @Fidah 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ashwini Desai idk about that. But there are lots of other masjids too. Anyway according to the Quran, there is no restriction on that though. Btw I have only seen that reply of yours. I wasn't ignoring or anything. As for the purdah and hijab, it's not a form of oppression. Thousands of women (including me) wear it on our own accord for the purpose of modesty similarly as to how nuns wear veils and all that. No one has ever forced me so I don't have much say in it. And if people are getting forced, that is their problem. There is nowhere in the Quran or Hadith where it asks to punish or torture women not wearing the hijab. If not, it's upto God. Who are we to judge people🤷🏻‍♀️

    • @Fidah
      @Fidah 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Ashwini Desai I was not evading that topic. I was only addressing your point regarding masjid entry and then, ofc Islam doesn't show men and women as the same but at the same time, it's not patriarchic either. Yes, women have to cover their heads while men don't require to do that but there are so many places where this weightage has been balanced by giving women an advantage over men. Like for example, normally when ppl marry, the bride's side gives dowry. But in islam, the men has to gift the bride with whatever he has been asked for🙌 And then men have this obligation to provide for his wife from his own earnings while women don't have to, ie. If the wife has a job, the money that she earns is hers and ONLY hers alone😶 She doesn't have to share it with anyone. Also mothers are given a high rank compared to fathers in some areas but again, Islam isn't about matriarchy either. So yeah I haven't tried to dodge this topic or make it seem like everything is equal n stuff but no gender has the upper hand. If such things exist, it's some bs cultural thingy🙂👍

You're probably only aware of the highly commercial ones. And lastly, being a Malayali myself, I have seen just as bad movies being churned out in Malayalam. So let's not get into a pissing contest. Never thought that SSR's passing away could transmogrify the outlook of film critics and reviewers towards non-hindi films to this extent.If this were to happen when he was alive , definitely classics like Byomkesh and Sonchiriya would have never flopped nor would the 'dark groups' dare to finish him off .It is the audience who have failed such talented artistes by hailing these nepos and their films thereby boosting the funding of the 'dark groups' and strengthening their hold over Bullywood.Hope this reviewing is not another gimmick to pave way for these Bullywoodians to enter the Southern industry and spread their drug. and 'dark' business here,since they lost their hold in the North.

      Its not Bollywood mistake its their audience mistake they make success only mass illogical movies. But there are good movies in Bollywood. But in Malayalam great story get made and people accept it happily and made successful. Its all in the audience hands.

    I am from kerala.. This films is completely wrong and misinterprets the facts .. It can be concluded that the main aim of the christan film director is to defame hindu community.. 50 or 100 years ago kerala was like this but he is trying put that in current scenario is worthless ...

      @@k110091 You may see this in pallakad maybe highly orthodox communities but there is an attempt where the christians are cooptining with communists to securlarize kerala , the home of most hindu traditions, why dont the christians talk about how when you go to a church in kerala a female cant be a priest , or in orthodox chrisitan schools boys and girls sit seperate, yet christians choose to create the impression that women are suppressed in hindu society when if anything it was through dharma and vedic tradtions women were liberated. So now the message exposed to the whole world is women in kerala are being suppressed under hindu tranditions when the most educated women in india are from kerala itself, ,there is an ulteriori motif here to secularize the state in the name of communism, are there issues of misogyny in kerala? yes , but at the some time most women in kerala are educated smart and have wisdom and now an internation impression is created of how women are treated by men in kerala

    • @dhanyajoel3038

      Christian women can go to church any time there is no restrictions for them. And regarding priest they are some female priests in some CSI churches may be not common in kerala. Christian women are allowed to go pujari area(madbhaha) if necessary, in many Catholic churches many Nuns and other women used to give Holy communion ( which is considered the most sacred for Christians) to the common mass eventhough prayers are done by priest

    The women knew what they are Providing the family.
    1. This Movie is directed By a Christian Convert Director. So Hindu and it's customs are bound to be the target
    2. They could have placed a waste plate while there men were eating.
    3.why the newly wed Lady is looking Tired, Disgusted, for doing her own people work and the Husband is happily going to office.
    4. When the Newly wed brought the Light all Men stood up.
    5. Unnecessarily the Newly wed girl was acting like a Bomb is going to blast , why so tensed. What was she doing till the sink was full. Drama Queen.
    6. The summary of the movie is Modern Women should have patience.
    7. Ambitious women should not marry in the first place. Plz stay Single dear Patience less Most modern woman
    8. It's an anti Hindu Movie.
    9. Thank God the Idiotic Didn't have a child or else the new wed woman would have disowned the child.
