Thanks for this your tutorials are fantastic. I saw your video for how to paint bricks, but how do you paint them when they are like this, partially covered with mud? Do you paint then before putting the wall mud?
I want to cover my brick wall to look like drywall how can I achieve this without adding drywall sheets and also build frame do not wish to loose any space
Have you ever done faux concrete or stone on a wood surface? No foam? I have used paint, mud and sand in the past, but looking to see if there could be a better way...any ideas?
Thank you I'm going to take these idea I step further and I'm going to use it with cement on the outside of my house I will let you know how it came about. God bless you
nice jon - the only problem I see is that the surface of the wall around the "bricks" is behind the brick faces. In case this was a real brick wall with some of the bricks visible, because of fallen stucco, it would have been just the opposite. We achieve this effect by installing foam plates so that the brick faces are deeper into the wall than the stucco around them - making it look more realistic. I se that the wall is for demonstration and I appreciate your time and effort. Really nice job.
+Zak Hannah Yes, it would work fine. The product I would suggest is thin set mortar. They use it for applying tiles to floors and it comes in white. This stuff sticks to almost anything.
Koki Lee the pass of the heat gun on the foam gives it a hard shell. Pretty strong actually. Because it is Brick if you ended up with a chip out of it you'd simply add some color and it would add to the overall look.
Hello there, this looks absolutely amazing. I wanna do It to my living room. Would you mind to list me all the products you used to create this. Please! Thank you ☺️
Great, you managed to make something that any normal person would come along to fix. For our next trick, we are going to put up a sheet rock wall and beat it with a hammer!. All kidding aside, its pretty cool. Just had to add some normal expected comments. Good job.
So u mean to tell me pple spent big money repairing stuff like this and now they're paying big money to faux finish it to make it appear like it's falling apart...? Why?
I finally found the perfect technique for the faux brick! you are amazing!!!
So glad you like it......I happen to be on a large feature film at the moment and using that very technique.
What kind of mud did u use?
What kind of foam?

Just found your channel. Absolutely wonderful idea! Incredible talent! What type of mud did you use? Is that drywall mud? Cement mud?
It was a concrete based material is in some areas its fairly thick. Regular drywall mud would have cracked and the gray color works in our favor

Really nice job.
Would this work if I were to apply the mud to a concrete wall? Also, does the mud /plaster come in white?

there are white muds but you would be doing a paint job anyway. Can work on almost any surface.
nice one sir!
If I wanted to do this to a living room wall, exactly how long would it last, I feel like the foam would eventually start to wear

I LOVE THIS.
Great tutorial. Also the link on the video is wrong.
thanks. I started out using the videos to drive people to a website, but the videos were way more successful so I dropped the website .

Eliza Bobrovskyte its really simple, the styrofoam cut to any brick size and almost any kind of plaster.
Wow!! This is definitely what I was looking for. Thank you so much! :). What can you do if you want to add color?? :3
Watch my video on painting brick. Hope you like it. th-cam.com/video/qi3_xc8RrXg/w-d-xo.html
I have a video showing the painting process...check it out!
nice so creative
CooL! It did look a little better before softening those edges. Too smooth on edges after brushing them. Regardless, nice work!
Nice!!
THE LOOK IM LOOKING FOR. DOING THE OUTSIDE OF MY BRICK HOME EXCEPT JUST USE MORTAR/PLASTER.

I work in film creating these finishes for TV and feature film.
Bravo
Well, I see you made some fake bricks and you plastered, but I missed the creative painting techniques.
Sean McAleavy there is another video that shows that 😉
This is a terrible video! Anyone wanting to do this, won’t be able because you did finish it! I know because I’ve done this for a living.
