Summary for my online learning gang: The first step of water cycle is evaporation. It is when water gets transformed into a gassy state. This is state of water is called water vapor. The water vapor then rises with the air, which has been heated, and condenses into small droplets, which then forms clouds, this is called condensation. Sometimes they can form ice crystals too. When the droplets get heavy enough they precipitate in a process called precipitation. They fall to the ground, mountains, oceans, and many other places. When the droplets hit mountains, sometimes turning into snow, they melt and run down the mountain, sometimes forming rivers. This process is called surface runoff. If the water falls into the soil, it goes into the ground and becomes groundwater. Lakes form when the ground is already full of water so water begins to form on the surface. Plants take up water from the ground and transports it through its leaves. Still though, a lot of the water will transpire out. Transpiration is evaporation out of the leaves of the tree. Water is stored in many places but fresh water can be stored in glaciers and permanent snow cover. Also groundwater, which can be accessed through wells.
I think Sal attempts to find the reason and logic behind all the formulas and techniques he teaches in his videos. If you are learning permutations, he'd derive the simple formula and focus on that derivation, so the learner gets the right intuition. This type of intellectual curiosity leads people to learn beyond their immediately applicable sphere of knowledge. And its not that he is perfect. Watch videos where he does 3x3 matrices and you'll find that he probably hates repetitive tasks. During his AMA on Reddit, he talked about the biochemistry videos where he spent considerable time learning the concepts himself before making the videos. He is like the new Feynman.

Hello, could you do a water treatment math video(s)? This is an area that ADULTS struggle in passing on the state tests. In the college I attended, even the Math center at the community college apologized for not being able to help out. You will be helping so many water / wastewater operators in various states who struggle with math. PLEASE consider doing this. The impact is far reaching in this field. EI pressure (psi) and elevation, detention time in basins both circle and square. chemical dosing (lots of chemicals). John - Water treatment operator
Whenever I hear about "wasting water" I laugh and remember learning about the water cycle in grade 2 or 3. It's almost as if people wilfully forgot about this simple fact. Hundreds of years ago the "scientists" thought water came forth from giant underground aquifers. Then they figured out about the water cycle. There are definitely places in the world that have less water than they need, but here in Canada, it's not a problem. I can use as much water as I want to, and all I'm doing is contributing to the water cycle, it's fantastic! If they taught my kids that people shouldn't pollute the water, I'm completely in agreement. We need to protect the water from bad chemicals and human waste. But please stop confusing each other about wasting water. We still have the same water we had on the day Almighty God created it. Every drop is present and accounted for.
Yes , the way we say " don't waste water" is to show sympathy for those who lack water. In India and some areas in Africa, children can't go to school as they have to spend time collecting water and some children get water-related diseases as they can't access fresh and clean water.
What is e learning? I’m in high school so idk wth that is. My teacher made me do this in gr 9 idk why I already knew all of it but I was bored so I watched it lol
University taught me residence time = mass of reservoir / rate of transfer to or from the reservoir. So a lake with a mass of 2x10^15kg and outflow of 19x10^15kg yr-1 would have a residence time of 0.11yr or around 5 weeks :)
Nice video, although it would be ideal if you talk of "water spirals and nutrient spirals" instead of cycles, because the spiral gives you the notion of time, cycles makes you thing that processes in nature are redundant or stationary
