I turned 18 in 1996. At the time, I listened to a lot of punk and rock music. A local radio station here in Denver started playing this new wave of so-called "electronica" music that was invading us from the UK and parts of the US. It's where I was introduced to the Chemical Brothers, The Crystal Method, BT, The Prodigy, Underworld and (most of all) Orbital. Most of my experience with electronic music up to this point was nauseating cheap dance pop, but when I heard The Box, it introduced me to a whole new world I didn't know existed. My best friend was with me when I bought this album. We sat in his 1988 Mercury Sable on a frigid and cold Friday night playing this on his car's stereo. We sat there quietly in the cold darkness and soaked in the experience, not saying a word to each other for over an hour. He and I were instantly hooked. This song spurred a feeling in me that changed me forever. Thank you Phil and Paul for your music.
Most of those you've listed, I only heard because of all the music sharing programs that started coming out at the time, like KaZaa, WinMX, Napster, etc., else, I would've never known about any of this music (sorry artists, but the marketing sucked so much and there was nowhere to actually buy the music near me at the time)
What .... a ..... track..... The soundtrack in my mind to a 60s cold War spy drama... with dark shadowy figures in rain coats and hats... stood in doorways with rain lashing down
25 years and still can’t get enough of it. What a track / album / artwork. I’ve have listened to this on tape, minidisc, CD, MP3, Spotify, now TH-cam. What else is needed to prove that it’s timeless?
The best part of the best song by the best band.. it can't get better than that unless they play it live at your doorstep. For me, this is the best song ever!!! ❤️
Fell in love with this track when it was released. All these many moons later this one here still calls out to me inside my mind and spirit through time. No less than magic as far as I’m concerned.
I used to love getting baked and listening to The Box 1-4. Especially part 3 with the creaky floor and the bubbly baseline in part 4. The whole suite is a masterpiece of 90's electronica. I FUCKIN LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!
I first heard/saw 'The Box' on MTV's AMP and was instantly hooked and rushed out and bought the CD the next day. I still have my two original copies on In Sides and it's still amongst my favorite albums of all time.
The Box. You opened it. We came. Another masterpiece of musical work off In Sides. I enjoy each and every version of the Box, my fav probably is the first untitled mix from the Box EP, the one after the radio edit.

I love this song. I took part 1 and 2 and most of the tracks from the The Box EP and cut myself a nice 35 minutes / 5 movements synthphony. (I hope that this isn't disrespectful)

I was 18 in '92 so lucky to have been around during the 80's when it all began

Me and my mate went to the local library and this was for rent... I rented it and 100% kept it, never took it back, no regrets.
Still one of the most epic tunes of the 90's in any genre.

Great album cover. I stared at it for hours as a youth
Every element of this tune shouts Orbital!
Stabs, beats, mysticism, darkness in the story that gets balanced. Stunning 🙏

Brilliant song. Glad I've seen it live twice!!

This is my best song in my life
日本人の人はなかなかいないかな?この曲は本当に今まで聞いた中で“ベスト”です…。なかなか共有出来る人がいないのが残念。
Never get tired of this track, or In Sides 🙌
This is extraordinary music! I love these old style Orbital songs. My favorite is "Attached".
I'm dreaming about "In Sides" DVD 5.1 sound ; ))
Amazing classic
It would make my week if Orbital one day upload some live footage, or a playthrough of 'Out There Somewhere (part two)'. That's their masterpiece.
still get chills listening to this one ... (in a good way)
Every goddamn time
Yes!!
My favourite track of all time! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Awesome classic track, Orbital!
I was 26 when this came out. A huge influence on my own music.
THIS TAKES THE CAKE, AND MELTS THE ICE CREAM !
the video always made me think of an lsd socket that I had in Asmterdamm in 1989
Крутейшая вещь 💪💪
Fuck yes!
Outstanding

What was this cover representative of?
Can someone tell me what "Drums supplied by Clune" means? I googled Clune and it's some kind of Surname and a few unrelated companies? tia
