"If Alan was a real person".... he would be Richard Madeley!
He’s actually based on him and a few others
If Richard Madeley was a real person he'd be Alan Partridge😉
Is Richard Madely was a real person he’d be arrested.

@@markh.9822 Yeah it is like 13 minutes! In fact it is 13 minutes!
@@markh.9822 For those who can't stand Jonathan Ross and just want to see him suffer Coogan's impersonation then get off here quick, the time references are very welcome!
What a legend Coogan is 😂 nothing but love for him!
Steve Coogan may not know it buthe is one of rge best therapists out there. Whenever I am feeling down (which is often) I just put on Alan Partridge videos on YT and full-throated laughter ensues. And it doesnt matter how often I watch the sketch, it never fails to make me laugh. His genius with language, his facial expressions etc. mean that even when I know what's coming, it still works. Thanks Steve (or should I say Alan)
Is your name Jed?
You too?
Me too
It's crap
Me too. Hope your feeling happier.
Steve Coogan talking about his character Paul Calf: I wonder who else remembers Coogan appearing as Calf on Ross' show Saturday Zoo back in the early 90s ?...
it's interesting to watch this in 2021, given how much the Alan Partridge legacy has grown since this was shot. i'm so pleased he's stuck with (or more likely couldn't shake) the character. it did bother me when he hit this middle ground and seemed to be struggling a little with his direction and identity. he may have many strings to his impressive bow, but he needs Partridge to anchor him to what he is - a talented, funny englishman. Steve is a national treasure and Alan Partridge is pretty much an institution in the UK now, even in Steve's mind. he is the arrow for Coogan's bow: a genius character that he can play until the final curtain.
are you sure it was 02? he mentions an upcoming movie with ben stiller, which i think is tropic thunder (2008). also the us office disnt premiere until 05.
2009
Apart from getting the date wrong(!), i totally agree, I've been at quite a low ebb and low and behold huwhat has given me laughs beyond measure? Why, Partridge. Alan Partridge. Clips of This Time's best moments are superb as there is no canned laughter track, I do so wish they were digitally removed from his prior work... #Alan
@@ValChronification you are correct, sir. 2008.
Well said to be fair. Agree, Coogan is a treasure
Used a partridge quote today whilst supply teaching. Said to two girls who were slapping each other 'if you're gonna fight, do it in the car park!'
Bring back Saxondale. I’d love to know how Tommy is doing with is anger management.
From sports desk in the 90s to 'this time' in 2021.. absolute gold. Probably the best and most consistent comedy character of all time.

Love Partridge, absolute comedy gold 👌🏻
It's banter between people who know each other pretty well.
As well as an outstanding comedian ,Steve Coogan is an amazing straight actor : Philomena , Stan and Ollie
He's an outstanding prick too.
You’ve seen it then?
Stan and Ollie was Stellar, but even as basic for him as Alan Partridge, it is still genius acting.
Savile.
Son of Stan.❤

'Doesn't Go Down Well'?
He's delighted
Tommy Saxondale is by far his best character full range of his talents bring this Back.
never heard of Alan Partridge!?
Forgot about him. Superb
I know people like Tommy Saxondale. The character is spookily accurate!
Don’t know if he’s the best character but he’s certainly up there. Very well observed
sanxondale was good tho. the episode with the pigeon had me rollin.
3:31 LMFAO
Love Coogan as Paul Calf 😂😂😂😂😉😉
I'd love to see Steve Coogan as Dr Who 👍
I wouldn't but I'd definitely watch it
Steve would be perfect as a secondary character. I guess that's most likely. I don't think they would cast an estabilished star as the Doctor. That role is for good actors that don't have that much recognition outside British theatres or TV.
Too bad Chibnall killed it.
Good call
@@vaclav_fejt Peter Capaldi? He was a very established actor to be fair. And Christopher Ecclestone had been around the block for decades before Doctor Who.
@@vaclav_fejt I mean, heck, everyone knew who Jodie Whitaker was through broad church. That was a gigantic hit in this country
Ross just won't bloody well shut up. Steve Coogan's having to fight to get every syllable out
Yes, hadn’t realised until you said that but you’re right 👍
That interview was textbook.
Lol imean I can definitely hear Jonathan ross' voice in that
They did make an American version of Alan Partridge. Its called Anchorman
Two of England's comic genuineness at the top of their came...just brilliant!!.❤️🇬🇧🤣🤣
See you next Tuesday pal. I like that.
Sounded like a combination of a Michael Caine/Jonathan Ross impersonation!
When Britain was fun.
Crickey, that Cnut line was quick.
Rik May had a series called 'Believe Nothing' in which he played a character called Adonis Cnut, and he wanted posters all over London which read 'Rik Mayall is A Cnut'. I'm sure he got it from that.
Waydees & wentlman! I'm a big fan of wors!
Paul Calf always my favourite. Bag 'o shyte.
Ross gave Stevie Wonder a cheese grater for Christmas...Stevie said " it was the best book he has ever read"
The actual punchline is "Stevie says its the most violent book he has ever read"

9:00 My Mum, God bless her, thought Alan was real.
Christ, Jonathan Ross really loves the sound of his own voice.
hes a talk show host...what the fuck are you talking about.
@@tourzrap Yeah, he's a talk show host who doesn't let his guests speak. Worst chat show host EVER.
@@johnnykennedy4669 I often wonder how he got to be such a celeb. I think it's because at the time he came up, anti-professionalism was all the rage, with Jools Holland and Paula Yates as TV presenters and Ross as a talk show host. He's not as famous any more, though he thinks he is, but he's the worst interviewer I've ever seen. I suppose the stars have to go on his show because they can't all be on Graham Norton, and that's what keeps him going. But he's a pain to watch. I only came here to see Steven Coogan flush his head down the toilet.
@@johnnykennedy4669 Watch any Michael Parkinson interview then watch that clown Ross. It is as much about him as it is the guest and dumbed down to almost NOTW type questions. The one when Ross "interviewed" 50 Cent was one of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen in my life. I totally agree with you. How he has got away with this for so long bewilders me.
@@AlanHope2013 Nail on the head Alan, his continued Media presence bewilders me. As you say, right place, right time, and then of course the BBC milk it and he becomes ingrained. Talentless gobshite.

'I'm an American!'
We need a new Micheal Parkinson… he had ears as well as a mouth.
I’d love to see Steve as the next bond, he’d be great and would bring back some wit to the character along with charm both of which have been missing since RM left. But I think he could easily do the action scenes also. Just imagine Steve as bond in some East Asian island in a gun fight with a baddie dressed in his modern safari suit then returning to London walking passed Big Ben on his way to meet M in his suit and tie in an underground office.
A fun idea for sure but.....no 😜
He’s much more of a ‘Jimmy Bond’
I think he'd make a good James Bond.
LMAO i thought Alan was a real person 😂😂😂
My grandma did, I remember her saying something about an AWFUL chat show host being on TV, when I asked her who it was Alan!
Nobody could take on the role of Steve Coogan when it comes to an American take on Partridge. It's only funny because it's Steve Coogan.

I was gutted when I found out Paul Calf wasn't a real person!
Come on Mr Ross.
Put some cream on it.
If Alan Partridge were a real person, he'd be an improvisational comedy genius!
He is a real person , he’s called Richard Madeley
He really must try stand up.
It’s great for us dyed in the wool fans that his attempts at fame in America and movies flopped…it means we get years and years of even more Alan partridge.
