Before a machine was on site so much work had to be done in advance to make this happen. Great to see the job performed so well here in lil old Ireland. Once completed it'll be like nothing was done. People will just take it for granted with no thought on how this feat of engineering got there. Well done to all concerned. 👍👍

We had something similar here in New Zealand. A company was building a coal mine and they had to stop construction because the government found a rare native snail. The government spent tens of millions of dollars collecting these rare native snails and put then into a fridge so they would go into hibernation so they could be transported to their new home. Someone in the government accidentally set the temperature too low and the snails all froze to death.

Having grown up in San Diego, I can attest to the accuracy of your statement. In fact, you might even be underestimating their public works expenditures because at the minimum, five gov’t agencies are involved with every project, not to mention private contractors. Plus the economic collateral damage due to increased fuel consumption for hundreds of thousands of vehicles daily due to rerouting or being stuck in traffic delays, local businesses impacted by decreased customer base, sleep deprivation because people will spend a significantly higher amount of time on their commute, reducing the amount of time sleeping. And it just goes on and on.

I see stuff like this happening on a regular basis but what doesn't show in the video is the years of pre-plan and site work to get ready. After that there's months (maybe a year?) of disruption for any regular traffic in the area on existing roads before the magic weekend installation. Once that is done there might another 6 months of getting things back to normal and finished landscape work. The final thought that sticks in my mind is not allowing enough time for the earth to settle properly so the assembly doesn't shift come the next rainy season. That seems to be a common problem with anything built in a hurry.

But prefabrication of large artifacts not provided for by the anti-rust and anti-slip metal walkways for pedestrians and disabled people at half height (one tunnel).
But we do not even foresee the predisposition of pumps + additional pipes for the expulsion of water or a double installation of lighting and emergency lights.
But neither the systems of cameras outside and inside the underpass, but neither the alarm lights at the entrance / exit, nor even a multifunctional luminous display (variable message, variable signage, etc.) entering from both sides)
In essence, the underpass is not digitized on the intranet (LTE and f.o.) controlled by a remote operator on a PC.

I didn't see any storm drains installed for the road surface to carry away water during a rain storm. Even though the track appears to be elevated above the surrounding ground level, it appears the road surface will be below the surrounding ground level. I wonder how often this floods?
