Good effort mate. I managed to do it without removing the clutch. Just thought you might want to know as it’s one less thing to have to remove and put back on. Thank you for posting this👍🏻
Got to finally hold one of these today. Nice little package. Heavy reliance on plastic, which was the reason I avoided Echo in the past. Will need to sleep on it. Richard, your video is an excellent look inside.
Merci infiniment pour ta vidéo grâce à toi j'ai changé ma poignée sans soucis. Honnêtement je n'y serais pas arrivé sans cette vidéo Thank you very much
thanks for the video....such videos are very useful because a disassembled stihl is quite complicated to mount. I changed the handle and it helped me identify the position of 2 components.
Good video. I find most of the time with the 151 tc and the 201 tc, after a fall, you nearly always need to replace the wiring harness from the coil to the carb, the wiring is so thin it really doesn’t handle falls or kinks, pinches…
Coming from electronics, I strongly recommend teflon jacketed wire for this, the thickest jacket and gauge it will handle. Also, for higher reliability, touch each crimp contact with solder. To do this, though, you probably need to remove the contact from the connector housing momentarily. Crimps are your biggest killer. Stihl is probably in diapers in this area.
Thanks again for just about the only video on YT covering some serious internal work on this saw. I bought one last week and in spite of my complaints about construction, I love the little thing. It cuts fairly aggressively for its size but I may do a muffler mod. We're not going to see a lot of videos on this baby. I got just about the only one on the shelf in my state and Stihl only shows one in their warehouses. It's gotta be 300 to 1 or so for this model to other saws, no?
Just finished a refurb of an MS200T for myself but debating (perhaps foolishly) if I should pick up one of these. It's a beauty. Not happy with the reduction in metal in the MS151 though. Metal is especially great in the clutch area. Having fried a brand new MS170, destroying the plastic engine housing, not a fan of plastic in that or several other areas, like starter attachment which I've mentioned elsewhere.
There isn’t the same level of reliability or durability in the m-tronic and strato-ported saws as the 200T…I’d really recommend trying the echo 2511T if you want a small light and powerful 25cc class…and a muffler mod, as with any of them these days
@@jimssawsnstuff8903 I held the MS151TCE today at the only place in the state having one in stock. It's so darned cute I had all I could do to keep my wallet in the pocket. But you're correct, the 2511T is a good little saw too and if you're worried about the plastic, Stihl no longer offers relief. The service guy confirmed what Richard is showing us, this thing is a bear to work on with the criss cross lines, etc.
@@nheng6913 yes, I work on them very frequently too…not a durable design to say the least. I’ve ported a couple 2511’s, but even with just a muffler mod they are lively 😎👍
I cannot understand WHY ALL COMPANIES don't work out a deal to make all top handke saws handle design like 2511t it's perfect at that angle. hello to you from France thank you for the video that can help me , I have this machine model off topic: I did the test on husqvarna tronço station pump mix plus ultra stihl oil = carbon on the exhaust light use a can of motomix sthil alkilate plus ultra clean exhaust light, it is the fuel that causes the carbon I’d like your opinion on that, Richard see you soon
It's the oil. Look for a JASO rated "FD" oil. It will have a much better detergent package and will burn very clean without sacrificing lubricity. The alkalite fuel is highly refined and will not harm your engine.
Have a new 201 t it's very alien to me all my top handles have been husky or echo .thing is strange and blockish, not impressed if it was ported propbly be great but for 1000.00 after taxes and a 16 inch xctra bar .could have gotten 2 echos 2511t s
