The Kara Nicha family are really decent human beings. They really for the poor. That is why they are so succesful. I fondly remember Henry in the Raisethorpe shop. He freely provided the destitute with food.
I have eaten from a few Kara Nichas in JHB, DBN and PMB. Being vegetarian it is great choice. The quality seems better in PMB then others. Tip: if you are not eating the special sandwich and chillie bites immediately, heat in the airfryer. Keeps the crunch.
Hello beautiful people. I used to live in Midrand, the Kara nichas was such a blessing, I used to buy for for supper and I was studying at the time, I certainly owe them for all my distinctions.
I remember going there in the 60's with my Dad. We used to sit in the shop and order tea and chillibites . Looking at it now, how it has changed. I lived in PMB but moved away. NO TABLES ☹
Very few today know the true authentic Kara Nicha's Food. I'm to the late 50's, and early 60's, food sweetmeats know where like then!! PMB my hometown.
It is so lovely to see good wholesome local content on youtube as compared to some of the tiktok brainrot nonsense, keep up the good work guys, got me in the mood for Kara Nicha's now lol
Hi . I visited Kara Nichas as a little girl with my late Grand father who supplied them with the veggies they required. I remember watching in awe the uncle frying the jelebiin a huge karai. Now I regularly get my favorite snacks n sweetmeats from Kara Nichas in Checkers Gateway n Pavilion.
The African girl working there calling out the " African word for chips was classic - echeepsi !" 🤣🤣. Admiration to the gujerati community in s.a & India - many tend to criticise them for being clanish & exclusive but the business model they employ works so it's something others can learn from. ( Just my opinion )

I was born and brought up in Umzinto on the KZN South Coast and moved to Cape Town 24 years ago. Nothing like these foods here foods here. Especially the mixed veg curry, you cannot get those vegetables here. I have found a Bangladeshi restaurant called Moksch and they make good curries but it's not Durban curry.
@@ordinarysouthafrican did visit last and had some good fishing fun but wasn't impressed with what has happened to my town. Once a peaceful clean town managed by Indians in the Apartheid era. Today a crime ridden filthy town. I was told not to walk anywhere alone as I used to do when I lived there. Beautiful province with the best weather but going downhill.
SOme use the name karanicha but the food is not the sameKaranicha in pm burg is the only original where uncle patel worked.i was passing by in tongaat mall nd stopped by karanicha nd believe me the true opinion the roti was stiff like rubber nd terrible the curry had no taste so cistomer find yr choice of indian curry that suits yr taste buds 16:0416:04
