The expressway is approx 95 kms in length and takes around 70-75 mins to cover for a car and 80-90 mins for a Volvo bus. When it was first built around 20 years back, it use to take 50-60 mins for a car. This video shows only around 18 kms of Khandala ghat section.
I am highly disappointed at the quality of expressway. This is considered to be the first expressway of India and the best one. Just look at the flaws I saw in this video. 1. All through the length of the road, it is not yet complete and construction is going on everywhere hindering the traffic. Remember, this was supposed to be complete years ago. 2. At places, instead of three, you are forced to travel on two lanes, which is considered a sacrilege in the developed world. 3. There is no provision of skirt or in other words some additional road on the sides of the road for safety or to be used in emergency. 4. Full of potholes and damaged road. 5. I saw at least seven motor bikes in the video and at least six of them were coming in the opposite direction. All over the world, two wheelers are not permitted. 6. At least two buses were plying on the car lane without any fear of penalty by the police. 7. Several trucks and cars were parked on the sides of the road, which is forbidden. Trucks parked even inside of the tunnel which is unthinkable in the west. 8. No entry or access roads leading to the expressway. 9. No fencing or isolation of expressway for barring of animals and other intruders. 10. Speed limit is only 50 Kmph, which is a shame. At places it is even 30. 11. A concrete pillar in the middle of the road. I don't think with this kind of service or mindset we can ever become a developed country as PM wishes for India.
Come on man you are commenting without complete knowledge. The section where you see construction going on and bikes on the way basically the 2 lane section is Ghat section where the expressway has a missing link. It basically merges with old Mumbai Pune Highway. The construction that was happening is a fresh new construction of tthe missing link over the ghat section which is supposed to reduce the travel time by another 20 mins and the ghat section will be skipped
@@JitzyJT I have travelled via this expressway multiple times. It is completely fenced. All his points are mentioned around the same area where the expressway and highway merge. There expressway temporarily ends. So there is a patch in between where there is no expressway, it is a highway. There is no fencing in highway. The missing patch in the ghat section is now being constructed.
Can you explain how UK road system helped them? But they definitely have good expressways/motorways. As I understand it, they invested in them earlier with likely US support and recently they have seen many motorways with huge chinese investment. But they have much lesser traffic when compared to Mum-Pune eway and this eway has tough terrain. Agree though, it can be better and is already being improved with missing link. Hopefully, line marking, crash barriers etc. are also maintained.
Thanks for covering the most beautiful expressway in the world ❤

How much time it takes to cover the whole expressway?
i think 4 hours. it depends on traffic of the road especially at khandala ghat and urse talegaon toll plaza

Hi
Seems like people are following lane discipline
300kmph touch kr sakte h?
haa u can go at 500 kmph also...
800-900 bhi chalega
@@chanz4liz bro seriously asking 😶
@@ProfessionalHater_ Never tried. But on the serious note, it isn't safe. Wouldn't suggest driving beyond 120 at all.
Ik people touch 220 so 300 should also be possible but only in off days and the car should be good

@@AshutoshRautela fine...What about rest of the points he mentioned? Like fencing on each end

The bikes are the mechanics. They attend to burnt clutch and other issues that truck and other motorists face ,on the go.
Landscape is amazing but expressway looks third class compare to world standars...
Work going on because of Missing Link project... that's why roads are dug up... it's just 10% of entire highway... rest of part is smooth and notch
don't take me wrong but pakistan motorway is far better than our india ,region is that pakistan has adapted united kingdom road system .
How so ? Is their motorway even better than Chinese highways ?
