  • In The $100 Startup, Chris Guillebeau shows you how to lead of life of adventure, meaning and purpose -- and earn a good living. Still in his early thirties, he's already visited more than 175 nations -- and yet he's never held a "real job" or earned a regular paycheck. Rather, he has a special genius for turning ideas into income, and he uses what he earns both to support his life of adventure and to give back. Chris talks about how you can start small with your venture, committing little time or money, and wait to take the real plunge when you're sure it's successful. And the best part is, if we change our own life, we can help others change theirs. This remarkable talk will start you on your way.
It's all about finding the intersection between your "expertise" -- even if you don't consider it such -- and what other people will pay for. You don't need an MBA, a business plan or even employees. All you need is a product or service that springs from what you love to do anyway, people willing to pay, and a way to get paid.

I am half-way through this book. It's fantastic! If you want freedom but need some realistic guidance, this is a great tool.

Reading books has really skyrocket the way I think about investing. Indeed, no one has ever got rich by saving money. If you want to become financially free, You need to Invest. I've come to realize that the key to amassing wealth lies in making sound investments.

I’m trying to get onto the investing ladder at 40. I wish at 55 I will be testifying to huge success!

Whichever firm you select, make sure you get your insurance from a reputable financial adviser, such as *Jenny Pamogas Canaya,* who has dedicated her career to financial planning. Because they will assist you in escalating, navigating better, and completing the task in a safer manner..||

Entrepreneurship is not something that can be taught. Some people are just better at recognizing gaps in the market; and also have the capital resources - intellectual and material - to close them. Creating value is always about finding out what it is consumers value; if one happens to be passionate about it so much the better but it isn't a requirement to be successful.

A good talk, though he is not the best presenter. Better at writing than speaking, perhaps.

Learning new languages is not "hacking". Current speech trends are so irritating.

I bought the book because I like the concept of freedom and investing less. As for this video, it was the small clicking or smacking sound that he makes in between talking that really annoys me... The information is interesting, though.

I've listened to his book and watched this talk. I feel he selling common sense stuff. No real value here in my eyes. IMO
