This was filmed almost a month ago, but I just wanted to give a reminder that I am not encouraging anyone to leave their house if it's unsafe. I am simply sharing what my experience is while thrifting during this time, which I don't personally feel 100% comfortable with it yet and I think that's important to share because we are still in a pandemic and nothing will be going back to normal for awhile. Please if you feel safe to go thrifting, take the proper precautions to keep yourself safe and also those around you. If you have a difference of opinion that's fine, you are entitled to that, but this is simply a video sharing my experience and not to go down a rabbit hole of arguing on what's wrong and what's right. I mention at the end of the video all the other ways you can thrift without leaving your house and the past few months I've done a bunch of alternatives to it 💛

Video idea: you should take one piece of clothing from your closet like a midi skirt or white pants and style it 5 or 6 different ways. I'm always trying to get more versatility out of my clothes and it would be cool to see how you'd style them in different ways!
I love how you’re going to thrift things you don’t have already or are unique pieces instead of getting a huge haul of things that you just kinda like!! It’s nice seeing how intentional you’re being😊 Loved your finds!!

tbh I've been doing thrifting over Facebook Marketplace! Mostly furniture or home decor since I moved. I used Goodfair recently for some tie dye tees and sweatshirts. I miss going into thrift stores, but where there's a will, there's a way!
The best tip I have for thrifting with no dressing rooms is to bring a cloth measuring tape! If you know your general measurements it’s pretty quick to measure the waist or bust of something to see if it might work for you!
I'm with you on this conscious thrifting! I typically have a method of 'item comes in, item goes out', however I'm not SO strict on this as I understand that sometimes I actually need a certain item of clothing/I dont have anything like it/dont have much like it. If I tend to get a couple of items (like more than 5) in one visit, I'll try getting rid of at least 1 of my 'old' items of clothing

Alexa, you should carry wipes in a small zip lock bag. I do that and sanitize the carts before I place my hands on them .... plus I carry a smaller bottle of hand sanitizer as well.
You have inspired me so much to avoid shopping fast fashion! I made it my new year’s resolution to stop buying new clothes this year, and I think I’ve only broke that once or twice which is pretty good considering how much I used to shop. I’ve been saving so much money but thrifting for the first time this year felt sooo good
I went to one of my local Saver's the other day and had an amazing thrift trip. 😀😀I found a Disney Fantasia crewneck sweater for 4.49, but it was half off and I got it for $2.50. I also found some mens graphic tees and two pairs of jeans that actually fit me(the fitting rooms were closed so I tried everything on at home). I also missed the sounds of hangers screeching while I'm at the thrift store. 😅😅

I just want to say (as a retail worker) that the fitting rooms are closed for a reason so PLEASE dont go anywhere with the intention of trying things on, even over your clothes, we're just trying to keep everyone safe :)
Believe it or not here in Niagara Falls Canada our Value Village is giving us 14 days to bring items back if they don’t fit because fitting rooms are not open.
Thank you being considerate of others and yourself during this time. I know a lot of youtubers that are not wearing masks, hanging with their friends and going shopping. Thank you taking the problems a pandemic brings seriously while still pursuing your interests.
alexa I swear the thrift stores in your area have so many gems! because you're pretty content with closet and consciously consuming(which is awesome!), you should consider thrifting clothes that are cute but you wouldn't wear and then resell them! :)
I just went to a goodwill outlet that opened up to source for my Depop and it honestly was a good experience- they required masks, had 1 way aisles, and only allowed one person per table (bin) which is kinda ideal for the bins anyways so you’re not fighting with anyone.
Can I just say thank you for being smart and safe. I’ve seen so many other youtubers pulling off their masks to talk to the camera. It’s nice to see somebody choosing to caption their video instead of taking the risk of removing their mask. I don’t know why more thrifters don’t use captions or voice overs instead of pulling their masks off in the store
That top you wore during the haul looks amazing on you! I remember when you got it but it really does suite you so well. And I’ve been looking for a chain necklace like you have for a while! Yours is adorable
