  • The Mini cassette hub by Profile Racing seems to have been around since the dawn of BMX. It is one of the most well-known hubs on the market, very desirable, ton of options and a great loud hub sound. I'm going to give you my opinion on the amazing Profile Mini cassette hub...

    I am planning to get a profile mini ss hubset and don’t know what specs for the front and rear hub to get for it. Got any idea what I should get?

    • @stuartgibson
      @stuartgibson  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on your riding style really. The front hub is good right out of the box, the only choices you have are the style of bolts you'd want or if your budget permits titanium bolts. However if you are rough with riding pegs you want to stay away from titanium. Same thing goes for the rear hub, lots of guys run them stock with the female bolts in whatever style they want. I really like the 17mm hex bolts because you can tighten those down easily. Personally I went for a 14mm axle, I do lots of peg stuff I want it to be a bit beefier.

    I am looking into getting one would you get the hub shims instantly with it or not? Like do they wobble right out of the box or does it take some time

    • @stuartgibson
      @stuartgibson  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I hope you won’t ever need the hub shims! Personally I’ve never needed them although I have had to install them on a friends hub. The wobble (if it happens at all) happens over time not right out of the box. You either get it or you don’t.

    • @stuartgibson
      @stuartgibson  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good question, the elite is the better hub in my eyes, rides great and I love the direct engagement but it is more expensive in general even for possible repairs and it is heavier as well. When out on the streets of a city the elite is also not very discreet. So yes the elite is better but I like the mini more overal.
