Like Ron Askew I tend to view this as C minor and C major Blues scale. However, there is an advantage to thinking of it as the relative minor as it helps to get rid of the root bias any scale has. If we are player a C Major Blues scale over a C7 many people will start on the root. Thinking of an A minor Blues scale and you are more likely to start on the 6th.
It’s really the C minor and major blues scales. It turns out that the major and relative minor blues scales are identical as far as the notes go; but the landing tones are different. It’s always best to call something what it is to avoid confusion. When I play against a C major or C7th chord, best to think of C rather than A minor because I want to know where the C, E, and G are; everything else is passing or embellishment.

Awesome stuff as usual! We do this in gospel ALL the time. For years I was confused as to which key a song was in (major or minor)
