I love when Kiri takes an aside to talk to the audience, always amusing
I really like Halo CE anniversary edition for the ability to swap between the original and updated graphics, it was so fun exploring and swapping between the two to see how far graphics have come

Awesome episode! 😍Thank you Kiri and Philip!😊
What a great question. I think in my case it changes with age and with the development of games and of course hardware evolution.
Now we have Steam Deck, where we can play many PC games everywhere. I remember playing on Game Boy back in the day.
So this type of hardware has also changed a lot and had some impact.
There are a lot of aspects of playing games.
When I was young I played because it was something new, amazing and it was a lot of fun.
So back then, when I was young and in my teens, I think I played for fun and some kind of escapism.
I still remember adrenaline and emotions, how classic games like Half Life and Unreal dazzled me in many ways.
When games like Settlers (1 and 2) and Knights and Merchants absorbed me for many days, because I love strategy games and managing city/kingdom.
Knights and Merchants was really hard and difficult for me back in the day and it really didn't aged so much.
I played Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones, these games were great, but now I can't play them. I'm too impatient with such a games now. 😆
I'm not a fun of turn based games, but I totally love first Rome Total War. I think it is one of the best TW games and I spend there hundred of hours.
Now there are so many games, maybe even too much because it is harder to find solid and great game without repetitive mechanics.
To do over and over the same. Although what am I saying, since now I often play various types of simulators where the activities are repeated only with better and better equipment 😂,
such as Farming Simulator, Fernbus or Euro Truck Simulator or even Bakery Simulator. But these kinda games are just to relax after stressful day at work.
To listen music or podcast and just chill and do something completely different.
But there are some gems to play like Stardew Valley, Terraria, Little Nightmares 1 and 2 (can't wait for 3 to be released),
DARQ, Limbo, INSIDE, Graveyard Keeper, Kingdom: Classic, Life is Strange, Desperados 1 and 3, Manor Lords, Ostriv, Prison Architect, Wartales and many more...
On the other hand, there are also games to simply experience a great story and immerse yourself in the characters and the world.
Experience immersion in the world e.g. in The Witcher 3 or Red Dead Redemption 2.
Frostpunk is great. I played Frostpunk but some decisions were really heartbreaking for me. Same with This War of Mine. Maybe I'm too empathetic.😜
Of course I still like to play many strategic management games where you build, create and develop something. It is definetly for me.
From time to time to hunt for some achievements. 😊

Hey!! Thank you so much for your thoughts!!
Especially Halflife stands out (from Whoopsies perspective)..
That game brought so much to the table that made it special and defined gaming as a narrative tool….just great!
And yes!! KINGDOM was very very pixelated and just so good!! The concept was killer and provided so much joy to play over and over again!
